    I love the bears. After watching so many of the big brown bears in Katmai , Alaska, these bears look so small and hungry.

    • @metalmamasue3680
      @metalmamasue3680 Місяць тому

      I'm in PA and our black bears are so much hairier up here. 😂 I guess because of the heat in Fla they evolved to have shorter and less fur than we have in the colder northern states. Our black bears do get bigger too. 😅
      I enjoy these quality videos.

    • @Felis-Concolor
      @Felis-Concolor День тому

      These bears may look small, but they’re most likely young subadult swamp bears that don’t need to get big for harsh winters. I live in New Jersey, and we regularly get documentation of 800+ pound male black bears up here. Not even two months ago, a hunter got a black bear that weighed over 900 pounds. That’s the size of an average Alaskan brown bear. Black bears can absolutely get massive if you give them the time to mature by slowing down the hunting. New Jersey is proof of that. North Carolina also has many 800+ pound bears and are some of the biggest in the country.

    Good to see you Tim. Happy Easter, if you celebrate. That Momma Boar looked as big as the bear. She was a big girl. I thought maybe the two big cats were a cougar and a bobcat. But you said panther, so, it must be. Thank you so much for sharing all the critters with us. I truly enjoy your videos. Take good care of yourself and stay away from them gators. xo

    • @321gates
      @321gates 9 місяців тому +2

      We don't have cougers here, by definition, but a subspecies called a panther. Very confusing to many for some reason.

    • @blobbertmcblob4888
      @blobbertmcblob4888 9 місяців тому

      Panther is a colloquial term. There's no such thing as a "panther" as Panther includes cougars, leopards and jaguars.

    • @321gates
      @321gates 9 місяців тому

      @@blobbertmcblob4888 The only animal accepted by science to be a panther, is the Florida Panther. Outside of the named subspecies of puma, panther is only an adjective used to describe cats with black fur.

      I will put the scientific name, as we have several regional names for each snake.
      Bothrops alternatus, Bothrops jararacussu, Crotallus durissus.
      We also have the coral snake, but we rarely hear about it here in the region, there are few reports.
      Bothrops Alternatus, we even have a popular phrase here in Brazil.
      "Urutu, when it doesn't kill, it maims."
      I don't go into the forest without having protection on my legs against snakes.
      You never know when you will encounter a snake.

    Thanks for the video. We had a really rainy winter so there was water everywhere even in February and March. The times I went out in BCNP there was still water in places where it is usually dry in the winter. Hopefully the panthers pick off a few of those hogs.

    • @ordonezo1
      @ordonezo1 6 місяців тому

      those hogs are good to keep a balance in the food chain, the deer herd had been decimated especially South of 41 since NPS started eradicating the hogs. The biggest myth about hogs is that they're always bad and nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, they're not good for the suburbs and crops but in the wild in places like Big Cypress they're a food source for the Florida panthers plus they've been here for over 500 years without having any negative effect on the habitat.

      So it may not be as useful as some ppl think. 😅 It may defeat the purpose of trying to keep them away. They can smell very well and I'm sure smell the human scent and anything with petroleum seems to interest them as well. They're intelligent and curious animals.

      Thank you very much. I'm not married. I have a boring 9-5 job so I guess I get enthusiastic when I get out in the woods. I've seen a couple diamond backs on my hikes. They are not that common in the swampy areas. Water moccasins are another story. :)

      @@ShrikeZoneIt's true the eastern diamondbacks are said to be becoming more rare in many areas. I do love snakes and they're a personal top 3 favorite as the largest rattlesnake, but yes beware of the Florida cotton mouth for sure. They can ruin your day indeed.
      Do you see any eastern coral snakes ?
      Thanks for the videos, I so enjoy them even if I don't comment on them all. New to the channel. 😊
      I love your name too, ShrikeZone. Shrikes are fascinating, if a bit gruesome birds, impaling their prey on a spike to chow down on.
      I'm an animal and bird nerd myself.
      Stay safe and enjoy the gorgeous nature and animals. ❤

    I can't help thinking that there's a federal task force watching Tim's videos, planning to pounce on him one day, and rappelling down ropes from helicopters. I imagine a 90K fine for transplanting a ghost orchid without a permit.

    Lots of bear . I don’t know, I didn’t see your puma. Great job saving the Ghost. You almost need a helmet and visor to get through that brush.

      I believe it's Tim's scent on them. Wondering if he could get his scent off of them, or put bear repellent on the cameras?

    That's a pretty pig
    I love how people act like the wild hogs are this horrible, destructive force and I'm sure they can be. But people act like they root up everything around them 24/7.

    Apparently, you are not using lithium batteries in your browning cam. My B. Cams do not show a percentage of the lithium battery life. I have been advised/told not to use anything but lithium. Doesn't your extreme humidity/rain storms cause alkaline batteries to disintegrate?
