exactly how I sold me getting a supermoto to my mom (8 months after a horrible accident that almost killed me, tboned @ 35mph by a cargo van blowing a red) "its just a dirtbike, i won't go on the road much...and it only goes up to 70mph" I feel bad kind of because I know she hates me riding after that, but that's how a motorcycle addiction works.
As a Moto Guzzi owner, I fully agree with Yammie. A huge part of the reason I bought it was precisely the fact that it has a weird engine, shakes like it's 1950, and no one knows anything about the company (even though it's been around for over a century). But he should have picked on the electrical system, not the engine. The engine is bulletproof.
Years ago I rode BMW Airheads and enjoyed them very much but people assumed I was a rich yuppie (I'm a welder). I got out of riding while raising a family for several years. When I got back into it I found I needed the legs forward riding position of a cruiser so I got a Honda Shadow and other metric cruisers, and then was accused of being a poser wannabe. Now, after finding a nice deal on a clean Dyna I'm told that I'm playing dress up. You just can't win with some people. Ride your own bike and STFU!
And ride what makes the most sense for you. If you enjoy it, ride it. It's not like those other people helped pay for it. Hell if I find a cycle that runs reliably and I can sit comfortably on I'm pretty damn happy.
My motorcycle, a 2005 Sportster 1200 Roadster, says "Hey, our service technician is here!" I bought it new in 2005, and put 50,000 miles on it in the first 3 years. It currently has 82,000 miles on it. It replaced the 1982 GS850G that I'd had for many years. The reason why the miles per year dropped off is because one of my clients hired me at the end of 2008 and the 500 mile days ended. The bike has done everything expected of it.
The Fat Bob roast was my favorite. "It's a reeeeraaaaaallllllll bike. You've got the matching patches to prove it and it looks great sitting out in front of your brokerage firm"
Ah man you crack me up. Please don't ever change. Fresh brewed coffee with Yammie Noob vids first thing in the morning generally means im off to a great start to a top day.
I was already really wanting the svartpilen 401 for my first bike before I even found this channel. Then you guys just made me feel really good about my inexperienced taste in bikes. My family is of Swedish decent and I thought it just fit plus it’s the coolest looking motorcycle on the market imo. Finally got enough money saved up and thanks to you guys will be buying it soon!
sv650 is dated, but that might be a good thing for a beginner. good ergonomics, good handling, it's got that rider assist to help from stalling. a beginner has to learn how to juggle multiple tasks with both legs and both hands. sv650 is perfect for someone to learn those things, and you won't outgrow it as quickly as a 300. definitely a bike to keep and pass down.
Having ridden the Meteor 350. I have to say that it's a very pleasant ride, comfortable, and has a slick gear change. Would I like to take one on a long trip on the freeway ? Absolutely not. It isn't fast enough for me. But for riding through town, and the odd trip on back roads. It's perfectly adequate. Why spend Harley money on something you are almost never going to take above 60mph anyway ? It's called a cruiser for a reason.
I bought one and except for the interstate, which I detest driving on anyway, I can go the speed limit anywhere else in style and comfort at 90-100 MPG for 4500 bucks and 70 bucks for year insurance. And my opportunities to kill myself are reduced by like 90% ( *made up stat* ) so its basically a no brainer. Also I'm old and I don't care.
Because a Harley can ride around town AND on the freeway? There is a lot of territory between Meteor 350 and almost any Harley. You look like a grown man. Get a 450 or larger. Triumph Bonneville's are significantly less than Harleys but still have some grunt to them. 900 and 1200 cc.
Here's a reply 2 years late. Test rode a Hunter 350 - it's shockingly better than the Meteor 350 even though the engine is the same. The tune and the exhaust are different and it's actually possible to accelerate in 5th gear. Also more confortable seat.
This vid isn't about bikes, it's about identity - persona and self-image. I did about 30 years ago to $900 79 Kawasaki KZ650 D. Great bike, a rocket if you yanked the throttle. Put 10,000 miles a year on that beast until I started traveling for work all the time.
I did have a Suzuki Dr-Z 400 SM for about 5 years. And it did have aftermarket levers. But context is everything. In the US, I would definitely prefer a KTM. But I don't live in the US. I live in Kyoto, Japan. Here, traffic is congested AF. Even though I now ride a Yamaha MT-09 Tracer, I would still take my old DR-Z 400 in an A to B race anywhere in Kyoto. It was high, light, narrow, and had more than enough power in a tight traffic environment. It was a genuine urban assault vehicle. On an open road, my Tracer would flat smoke it. But I don't ride on open roads very often. Some days, I still miss the 400.
Long after the last KTM in existence is in its grave, there will still be a DRZ with more miles than the international space station ticking around somewhere on the backroads. It's an awesome bike
I am disappointed he didn't go after me and my Royal Endfield Himalayan brethren, and how we like creating our own scavenger hunt looking for the parts of our bike that fell off after an actual off road ride.
The Moto Guzzi v7 III and the new v7 850 are very reliable and don't leak oil. The owner probably just didn't tighten oil drain bolt enough because that's exactly where the puddle is located. Roasting a motorcycle for something should be based upon at least a modicum of truth, not lies.

I like the bit about the Z900. My buddy who has a Z900 told me that he was originally looking for a MT-09 and couldn't find a good deal in the area. He said he found a good deal on his Z900 and bought it. It's a really nice bike. But I'm sure that like Yammie mentioned, deep down he still wishes if he had bought a MT-09. Back then I had a FZ-07. Later on I got a gen 3 MT-09. Jokes aside, I think my buddy's Z900 is more confidence inspiring compared to my MT-09. Maybe he made the right decision to go with a Z900.

He’s right about the Rs 660 damit . Every time someone says something to me at a gas station or bike meet , it’s about reliability. I’ve had zero issues for real . My Ktm on the other hand was only ready to race to the dealer !
I just traded in my 2021 Africa Twin Adventure on a Taureg660. You’d think I just did the stupidest thing possible in the motorcycle world if you ask other riders. I have a 1000 mile trip this weekend and zero worries.

Roast the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 all you want, but those of us who own one know what a GEM it is! We know how much value it offers. And, we don't have to show off our manhood, because we're secure in ourselves. If I couldn't get the Fireball Yellow, I'd own the Stellar Blue one you featured... :)
I owned the INT 650 for a while (obviously not the meteor) and I can vouch for Royal Enfield being stupidly reliable (apart from the electronics). I live up north, and mine would always start, even in below freezing temps. They just work.
Oh god. Any time I go out on my Bonneville I get at least 2 older men talking to me. I don't mind it, and they're usually very nice! But it's been an hour and I just wanted to get lunch.
It's because they remember when motorcycles looked like motor cycles, not Transformers. All that body work on bikes (Ninja style) just gets in the way and adds weight. Fine for a race track, but impractical and, IMO, grandiose on the street (and ugly colors). Keep the Bonney, though imperfect also, they have stood the test of time and so have Harley's. I have a '22 Triumph Street Scrambler, and I'm on Medicare. Cheers.
@@x-man5056 wow whats so impractical about plastics they cover you from the wind they keep the heat there they also are easy to clean there is no reason to consider them impractical
@@cristianseminario7899 If you are talking about dresser/touring bikes, yes. If you are talking about crotch rockets, no. A fairing/windshield is nice. Practical. The body work for aero on Ninja type bikes is not needed on the street at all, it is purely cosmetic under 100mph. It may help you fantasize about being a real racer, but it is just way in the way to do even minor maintenance IMO. You don't have to be "practical' to enjoy your ride, if you just like the looks of the body work, go for it. But on the street at anywhere near speed limits, it's just extra cargo on the bike.
As an MT07 and DRZ owner, yes, I do want to do hoodrat stuff with my friends, but thats usually done on the DRZ, and it's one of the few without Amazon parts. (Name brand hand guards, levers, and tail tidy)

@@oscarbear7498 I'm very happy with my DR650. I was able to buy it used just before prices shot up. I'd rather own this bike that I paid cash for than finance a fancier bike tbh
If you get the Rokform mount make sure to get the anti-vibration pad or it will for sure mess up your phone like it did mine.
Bikes reflect their owners hits home when you have a $1700 aud Kawasaki GPX 250 from 93
Im riding a $1500 2004 zzr 250 there's no shame in it bro
Yeah but resale is good when you are at the bottom of the depreciation curve.
Bought a Meteor 350 as my first bike after trying some 600cc stuff and I don't regret my choice. I use it for town streets, country roads and mountain roads for my commute to work and I love it. Not everything has to be "hurrr durr big engine go vroum"
Holy that sv 650 hit me so on the spot, no regrets thou :D
I like the bit about the Z900. My buddy who has a Z900 told me that he was originally looking for a MT-09 and couldn't find a good deal in the area. He said he found a good deal on his Z900 and bought it. It's a really nice bike. But I'm sure that like Yammie mentioned, deep down he still wishes if he had bought a MT-09. Back then I had a FZ-07. Later on I got a gen 3 MT-09. Jokes aside, I think my buddy's Z900 is more confidence inspiring compared to my MT-09. Maybe he made the right decision to go with a Z900.
Yammie: “Everything’s accepted”
Royal enfield 350:
Lol
These guys have way too much fun making their videos!
Wow did he skipped on roasting CBR500R owners? lol I feel blessed.
I was waiting for it myself lol
Lucky you, I've got a cbr250r lmao
@@dustythatsme9793 I started out on that, so I know how you feel sir.
I'm glad you mentioned Moto Guzzi . My late wife and I rode them for nearly fifty years. I still ride the California 2 with over 200,000 miles, She never rode anything else.
You’re like the David spade of Motorcycle columnists. But funnier and you actually do provide a beneficial opinion. Good work!
Thank you for this video. Yam, I honestly believe this is one of your best,
The bloopers was the best part of this one….
I laughed so hard though…lol
I'm hopping on my Royal Enfield Super Meteo 650 and riding down to the local cafe for a Spritz.
I’ll be watching more of your content so when the time comes to buy a new motorcycle, it is not being roasted on the channel. Thanks for the advice papa Yammie
You will definitely love your new turbo Hayabusa
He’s right about the Rs 660 damit . Every time someone says something to me at a gas station or bike meet , it’s about reliability. I’ve had zero issues for real . My Ktm on the other hand was only ready to race to the dealer !
I just traded in my 2021 Africa Twin Adventure on a Taureg660. You’d think I just did the stupidest thing possible in the motorcycle world if you ask other riders. I have a 1000 mile trip this weekend and zero worries.
@@zyonsdream Someone is going to write how we are both wrong and Aprilias are crap now lol nice bike by the way I’m thinking about adding one to my garage.
With Spite as a prior owner, I was hoping for a more intense VFR burn..
Also why not include the venerable GSXR250?
I love the bloopers at the end
Uh-chair-bees
That was great very witty very humorous very quick. Loved it.
Pre-watch: Got my popcorn, buying my first bike soon, this should be good 😂
What bike I lookin at?
The answer is z900 no matter the question... lol
@@Joshie-Z I was thinking zh2😂
@@Joshie-Z gsxs750 better thoo
@@whodat4265 to each their own I suppose. I rode the gsxs and it's smaller yet heavier. The seating postion doesn't set you "in" the bike like the z900 and it wasn't as potent in the mid range rpm. It was more rev happy but the z900 just goes no matter what gear or rpm you are in.
As an Aprilia RS660 owner, I feel the least attacked out of everyone on this list.
Feels good man.
Tell me you're scared to drive over 55 without telling me you're scared to drive over 55.
@@FirinMahLazer1 Tell me you are a homossexual, without telling me you are a homossexual.
Dude I own to fireball red but u gotta admit it is slow as fuck a 150cc can beat it in top speed 🫤
@@arsh.t9476 it's not really a bike fr American roads where there's higher speeds and better roads
I first wanted the Z900 for my A2 License but now I got a MT-09. I’m finally different
I love that Yammie creates a roasting video and is utterly unable to pronounce Husqvarna correctly, and also kinda messed up Moto Guzzi 🤣
I know you don't see this, but it is hilarious that there is a Quadlock ad played immediately after you first said Rokform.
Cheers.
I ride a Bonneville. Can relate.
Regarding Triumph Bonneville.. this is one bike you can buy brand new and don’t have to worry much about theft while keeping it in the big city.
As an MT07 and DRZ owner, yes, I do want to do hoodrat stuff with my friends, but thats usually done on the DRZ, and it's one of the few without Amazon parts. (Name brand hand guards, levers, and tail tidy)
The HONDA VFR is great unless your doing a valve adjustment on that Vtec system. 10:13
I went for the sv650 because my first bike was a ninja 500 and I wanted something similar, but more. And I didn't get a test ride because dealers just couldn't keep used stock at the time. Just glad I got the A instead of the X.
You wouldn't know, of course, but Guzzis can be both italian AND reliable. My V7 stone gave me ZERO problems! Just put gas and check tire pressure.
I’m definitely game to see you ride the Z900. However I know your gonna shit all over it out of spite because people won’t quit asking 😂
Moto Guzzi v7's are reliable, no oil leaks or jokes about Italian quality, sorrie Yammie, Moto Guzzi Noobie. But you can make jokes about how slow they are and how only old and retired people ride them. Regards - V7 Racer owner.
How dare you even let the name Harley Davidson come from your lips. My REAL man's bike is the best. It runs down my neighbors scooter. It leaves the local loggers and mining trucks at the stops. Fatbob life son! Wooooot woooooot. Keep these up Yammie. Loving it.
MT 07 owner here. Yes, exactly what you said.
Admit it. DCT is AWESOME. :)
Haven’t gotten to ride one yet but I agreed. It seems pretty damn cool! Especially on the Africa twin
It’s a fantastic technology that makes motorcycles more accessible, but in a country of automatic cars, I really hope it doesn’t become the majority of motorcycles.
I love all your videos around Austin.
Thank you for mentioning my bike and roasting me I feel like a real boy now
Happy the MT-07 didn’t get flamed.
Literally bought the 401 because of you videos 😂😂😂😂 and I love it!
First time I saw a yamaha mt07 I thought it was really ugly. Now I think its one of best looking 🤷🏻♂️ Tastes change and some bikes take a while to get used to.
I got buthurt after I seen my first yammy vid about the sportser 883 but then I got your sense of humor and I really appreciate your clips
8:48 damn I thought I got away with not getting roasted 😂😂
2021 Suzuki SV650 Yep, I bought the Only one in SoCal. Of Course it was on here. Lol Pearl Tank Red Frame/wheels. Great Stuff!! Thanks Yammie
Best video I've seen of yours, haven't seen them all, I laughed so hard
Thanks to your videos, the Husky svartpilen was very difficult to find. I had to go with the clip ons. Sold it 4 months later and got a z900, no I don't want a mt09 but it did cross my mind. Now I want a harley... I just keep going the wrong direction.
Okay Yammie here it goes. I've got a 86 vfr 750, a 2000 zx7r, a 07 stratoliner, a 07 r1200r and a 18 tnt 135. Have at it!
04 ZX-10R, 08 Concours 14, 06 KLR650, and 22 Trail 125 are all I’ll ever need for the rest of my life 🤙
Weirdly I have more old people talk to me when I'm riding my Street Triple than when I'm riding my Bonneville.
8:59 old people asmr
Fkk I'm dead 🤣💀
Surprised you did'nt dump on the 250cc engines. I plan on getting stupid with my Honda cbr250r here in the US. I know it is blasphmey to start lower than 650cc in the US but I have a build plan and pile of parts... It should get interesting.
I’ve been riding three years, didn’t get my license until I was 50! Honda Rebel 500. It has been so much fun, great beginners bike I think. What would you recommend for a mature lady like me for my next bike?
Turbobusa
Tbf I got a meteor 350 as a bike to learn on, works great for relaxing back road riding, anything over 50mph tho, let's just say a bicycle with a lawnmower engine would feel less sketchy
When I saw the MT-07 on the thumbnail my curiosity was intrigued
You still got it!
That is what I’m here for.
Great job here man 🤟💥🔥🔥🔥🦾
Just curious, during bloopers when you bust up laughing are you with other people in a studio? Or are you by yourself in your bedroom with a David Letterman mic that you polish everyday?
I ride a ADV and a Sportster and I love all your videos
"You bore Accountants"😂😂😂
The few times I have dropped my Ninja 300, onlookers say - "its too big for you". I'm 5'2" 110lbs.... This is my perfect bike.
I had a GSXR 750 for my first bike. Awesome sports bike.
Bought a 2013 Triumph Datona 675R as my "first bike". Had it for a week and can say I'm not dead yet.
