Oh wow, as a mom who recently lost my mom, that touched me on levels. You make me want to make that kind of memory with my daughter. To do something interesting and brave. I love your relationship. My mom was my friend too.
I’m in Melbourne Australia and we are back in lockdown again, would love to go to that market. Miss shopping for loved pieces. Gasping thru out the entire video.
I don't think I can never get enough of watching your thrift shop treasure shopping videos...such wonderful shopping buddies you have!! your mom is the sweetest and Romeo is a keeper!
I am really starting to get a sense of the decor that the cottage is going to have and that is such a testament to the clarity of MaCenna's vision. She knows what she wants which is such a great energy to put into the world.
I have a huge collection of Longaberger baskets. Over 50! And as pricey as they were / are, I made sure I bought baskets I would use on a regular basis. None of that just sitting around looking pretty. I wanted them to be useful so that I could justify spending the money. My first basket was a gift and is dated 1984. I also have their pottery. Longaberger originated here in Ohio and closed a few years back. You should check online and see the building for their headquarters that is shaped like a big basket. A development company bought it to make a hotel out of and then changed their minds. I do not know right now what the plans are for it but it's gorgeous.
You can get a ceramic drill bit for those jug/pots! Literally my favorite hack for putting plants in things where there shouldn't be plants. LOL! Also theres a few amazing antique vintage stores in Morro Bay, CA that you would love. When I went I kept thinking of you!
Your exuberance and energy towards the end when you were showing all of the neat stuff you found: so infectious! I was so excited for you. Thanks for the shopping trip!!!
The two pots without drainage holes are perfect for indoor plants to the water doesn't mar the surface of what it sits on. You can set a plant still in the nursery pot into those pots
I’ve been obsessed with thrifting for years, so it’s so fun to watch your treasure hunting! There are a bunch of fun thrift stores in my area (northern Virginia). One store in particular always has great glassware and whenever I go I think about how much you would love it.
@@alyssataylor2338 I've been to Clock Tower and Unique but I need to check out the other two. My favorite is the Goodwill on Glebe Rd. and the Salvation Army in Manassas.
I grew up here in Canton. The FM weekends do bring a lot of traffic, but it's nice to browse. I always went for cheap interesting food when I was in high school. I knew quite a few guys that worked temp jobs there carrying ice everywhere to the vendors. I still miss it.
I was gonna be mad if you didn't take that sink home with you. This is the best antique/vintage haul I've ever seen! You have a great eye for frames, mirrors, wooden legs, ceramics. And if I'd known I could get $40 for my vintage coffee grinder, I'd have been happy to sell it for that amount. I learn something new everyday. Congrats on your fab finds!
Had so much fun watching this video. Your Mom is so cute…. almost fell off the chair when she said, “ it’s gonna take us 12 days to get home.” Stay well. 🙏🏻💜
Videos like these make me so happy! There are no thrift stores where I live but I'm always rooting for McKenna when she goes hunting for her little treasures! Such a good video!
Girl!!! That Longaberger basket is worth a fortune! That was your best score!! Handmade, numbered. I won a basket in a draw that is 14x10x8 and new it's worth about $200!!
Thanks for sharing your adventure I had fun watching all the stuff. I'm a True Thrifter also. As I watched this it seems that your style for the cabins seems to be this style from 1930's. There was 2 large columns towards the back of one of the shots that would make up a great mantel. You might think about designing and building your own mantel. On the mirror with the missing pattern you can get the flowers design through Hobby Lobby n wood section. Thanks for sharing and you have inspired me to take a road trip down to Canton.
FABULOUS flea market haul, LOVE the picture frame mirrors, coffee grinder, oil lantern and vintage basket! Send that rain over to Arizona and the west coast! 💕
I went through a similar phase a few years ago when we decorated our first house. We travelled in a camper (with our cat!) all over western Canada and up to the Yukon and Alaska checking out antique and thrift stores. I love how every piece has a story/memory on how we got it. Your videos bring me back to those days!
Thank you for taking me shopping with you! Thrifting and antiquing or treasure hunting is what I like to call it, which is one of the most fun things I love to do. And I have been doing it for years and never get tired of it. It is such an adventure. You never know what you will find. I have gotten lucky with many of my finds. It was fun watching you and your mom and Romeo shop together. I shared your excitement when you find something that you love. Some days, I can't walk for long because of sciatica. So it's fun to watch from the comfort of my bed when I'm resting. Watching you and Drew (lonefox) going shopping has given me the drive back to go out myself again to thrift stores. I have depression quite bad that I suffer moment by moment with. It's not easy to say. But true. I just want you to know how this has helped me. Also, I am a do it all around the house kind of person like you. I built a pantry under our stairs in my house years ago. And I paint like your mom does. But not as much as you all do full time. Love it!
I loved watching this! My family home is soon to be sold and the clearance people came to take all the family things that were left and will probably end up in sales like this. I live in another country so could not get to take the furniture that my parents had as a newly weds and that were in my room and as I watched you going through all the stuff, I got very sad and realised that these items were also loved and treasured once so I wish they wouldn't call it junk! I am so happy that you and others that love vintage items and give these items a new home and love them as they were once loved! I have subscribed!
At the end of the haul “is that all?” After talking about a bunch of amazing finds lol love that! Watching your videos has definitely opened up my interior styles and ideas x
The longaberger basket was incredible! Those are really good baskets and they’re expensive. You got a great haul - so much old elegance at such a great price.
This was so fun to watch as First Monday is only a couple towns over from me! So happy to see you got some good finds. Can’t wait for the completion of the cottage! 🥰
we have a ton of vintage Christmas ornaments because we have a ton of handmade or bought and well-loved ornaments that my mum and dad had when they were children, my grandma was an artist who made ornaments with her children and just in general, and by now they're vintage trice over (which is crazy to me, by definition _I'm_ vintage ahh). Our tree is always eclectic and nothing fits together and it's so much more beautiful to me than those very clean, perfectly planned out and measured ones that only have two colours and are perfectly symmetrical and parallel in their decorations. That basket is a Longanberger basket. Those used to be sold at house parties ( like Tupperware was) and they were sooooo expensive. That might still be valuable!🥰🥰
I'm sure this video is going to be great as always! I must say, you have got me looking at vintage picture frames young lady! They are SO MUCH classier!♥️

I started collecting Longaberger Baskets in 1993 and the cheapest basket you could buy at the time was a 4 in square basket for $25.00. I see a lot of them in antique markets and thrift shops now that the company has gone out of business, but never cheap and never for FREE! Great find.
I have been collecting Johnson Brothers Friendly Village to use for my Thanksgiving dinners. So far I've only found six plates and five bread or dessert plates I'm not sure which. I really love the images on them.
Love all your frames!!! Aren’t you afraid of bed bugs in each used item? They are bad in CA, MI and other states. I miss buying flea market items SO MUCH!!! Please let us know how you handle the bed bug problem in used purchases.
The sink and mirror combo is super cute!. Also the deviled egg serving plate is adorable. 😍 Can't wait for Christmas. Thanks for the video it was super fun!
Yay. You got the sink. I would have had to have that white glass cabinet with wood interior too!! Beautiful quilt display cabinet or in a bathroom. Love everything!
Girl, if you love digging through junk you HAVE to go to JTs This and That in Wharton. SO MUCH STUFF. And you literally have to dig around to find stuff. He also is super freaking reasonable with his pricing and will give you great deals when you buy more. Love that place so much!
I, too, used to go to Canton with my mom when I was a child. We would pick up items for her interior design business. I also remember it was the first place I got lost 🥲
Love your coffee grinder! $40 is a good price. I usually see them for $30-$50 depending on the condition. Can't believe she told you that they sell for $100 online. Always enjoy seeing your thrift/antique finds!
I love first Monday. My best friend of 30 years who I grew up with here in Southern California know lives in Canton with her sweet little family and her husband is from there. I’ve been a few times and it’s one of my favorites.
I have only just found you’re channel yesterday and I have binge watched the new house videos all night and all day today….😊. I love you’re happy vibe xx
oh, and when you were in the car talking about how you used to go there with your mom when you were a little girl, your mom tapped her heart - sniff, sniff - I love that!
Ooh I wish I knew about that place when I used to live in Midland and would visit family in Houston! I've always wondered if those towns in between had good stores but I never stopped because the drive was so long for me.
Bone dishes! Those little crescent shaped dishes are to go next to your dinner plate when you're eating something with bones and you put your discarded bones on them. I wanted a set for ages but was never able to find more that 1 or 2, but I went on a thrifting road trip with my Mum and found a set of 6 for $4. I've taken great pleasure pulling them out any time we have wings or ribs.
How MaCenna's mom touched her heart at around 0:40. I thought that was sweet. You can tell that was a nice memory for her.
So sweet!!
I saw that too. That was an “aww” moment.
They’re sweet.

Now that's a great idea!
Yes, please!!

I don't think I can never get enough of watching your thrift shop treasure shopping videos...such wonderful shopping buddies you have!! your mom is the sweetest and Romeo is a keeper!
Such a mood when MaCenna asked her mom to ask the shop owner how much something is
Hahaha 🥰
So much respect to the vendors at markets. They spend HOURS packing, driving & staging they’re stalls. Like wowowow amazing!
Also I audibly gasped out loud when I heard that sink was only $20. Especially after watching your sink journey haha 😂
I'm so jealous. Redoing a bathroom and I would love to have that sink! Great find.
RIGHT!!!! I couldn’t believe it!!!!! And almost the same one I wanted to buy new!!!
same lol
Try Mr Clean magic eraser on the black marks

I am really starting to get a sense of the decor that the cottage is going to have and that is such a testament to the clarity of MaCenna's vision. She knows what she wants which is such a great energy to put into the world.
The mirror missing some molding: you can make a mold from the existing molding and then make replacement molding. Glue it on and paint to match.
I was thinking the same, it's going to look great
Wow, never thought of that! That's a great idea!
Yep! My thought, too.
Jamierayvintage does that -- has how tos on her you tube
Yes, definitely!
Glad that Romeo loves going shopping with you, too!
I would kill to have my hubs like thrifting lol he goes if he has to 😂
Omgggg 100% he’s so patient and looks around for his own stuff and pushes my cart! He’s literally the best!!

Yes, I just said the same thing. Amazing that someone didn’t realize the value of that basket!
I was hoping someone would tell her that Longaberger baskets are valuable

Your exuberance and energy towards the end when you were showing all of the neat stuff you found: so infectious! I was so excited for you. Thanks for the shopping trip!!!
I wouldn’t say you “love junk”…I would say you’re a “treasure hunter”🥰
That totally sounds better hahaha 🤣
Really want to appreciate Romeo’s cameos in all your videos! He’s so patient, encouraging of all your excitement but still gives his opinions.
These videos are sooo calming! Like window shopping minus the driving around and social anxiety 😂
The two pots without drainage holes are perfect for indoor plants to the water doesn't mar the surface of what it sits on. You can set a plant still in the nursery pot into those pots
Second the nursery pot suggestion! I’ve been known to go to Home Depot with ceramic cover pots to find the right nursery pot that fits 😂😂
Put dollar tree rocks or rocks from outside in the bottom for drainage.
I would NEVER drill holes in the bottom of a vintage crock! 😳😭
I’ve been obsessed with thrifting for years, so it’s so fun to watch your treasure hunting! There are a bunch of fun thrift stores in my area (northern Virginia). One store in particular always has great glassware and whenever I go I think about how much you would love it.
