So, my husband and I bought an old house in Moulton, Tx about a year ago, we are still DEEP into renovations. It's probably the most exciting, but challenging thing we've ever done. Every room had 4+ layers of linoleum under carpet, and the final layer over the wood floors was stuck down something fierce. We used a Wagner brand wallpaper steamer from Amazon. Worked like a charm. We used distilled water and had a wet vac and paper towels ready to suck up excess water so the wood flooring wasn't sitting in water. It was super quick. We tried every method you tried as well, and nothing was cutting through the glue that was left on our floors except the steamer. Hope this works if you try it!!
When we pulled up the old vinyl flooring in our kitchen we used a very old iron that we didn’t care about anymore and a tool just like tiny crow.😊 You rock girl, and I love watching this series. Thanks for sharing.🥰🙏🏼❤️

Hi!!!!! We are in a 108 yr old home with seven bedrooms and two parlour rooms.....maids room and back stairwell(for her not to be seen!!!!) etc....... we moved in here to restore and enjoy!!!! We are still at it but it's a labour of beautiful love ❤️
So jealous. I've always wanted maid's quarters (for myself, not a maid!).
Good luck on your journey!!!
Do you sometimes watch your old videos and realize how far you've come? Whoa! Very impressive MaCenna!
I highly recommend you watch Farmhouse Vernacular. Paige and her husband have been renovating room by room and she goes into the planning process. They both have engineering backgrounds and very informative and knowledgeable. They take everything back to the studs and down to the bare floor and start from there. She also has a time schedule for each step. He works outside the home also so his time is somewhat limited. They really do an excellent job.
Yes! Paige has great insight into renovating, decorating, vintage shopping and so much more. I love her channel too! I hope that Macenna read your comment!
There’s something satisfying watching the linoleum floor come up.
The satisfaction of peeling off that floor…OMG!!
Those floors and that shiplap 😍😍😍. So lucky to have all that reclaimed lumber to work with
Having fun watching the redo. Keep it up. Love to be helping you. 🏝🌞💜
I wish that you You Tube went for longer as I really love them, I love that you show that not always things go to plan and I love how you are funny
when you talk about you tools. It is great to see Romeo there with you in this journey, I miss not seeing Kinsley also keep up the good work
Denise from down under (Aust)
The series is stressing me out..In the best way..I cant wait to see everything coming to life..omg..I have know patience..😆
I like the 3 front windows treated as one unit & framed out as one. This work is very tiring but you've made alot of progress. Good job. Sandi
I just love to see all the different wallpapers that get exposed every time! Wouldn't it be so funny to have a gallery wall of all the old wallpapers? 😂
My favorite UA-camr, hands down, no competition! Love how humble, creative, and down-to-earth you are; drama entertainment is so overrated. Glad to have you as a fresh breath of air for social media in general. You have inspired myself and I am sure many others to step outside our comfort zones and do hard things!
Why does watching this is so relaxing? 😂 Special thanks for the ASMR!)
What does ASMR mean?☺️
@@lauramitchell6725 it is a "relaxing, sedative sensation which is triggered by sounds such as whispers, accents, and crackles etc". It begins on the scalp and moves down the body, and is also known as "brain massage" 😄.
ASMR is a massive trend on UA-cam ☺️
@@juliavabishchevich Thanks,do the actual letters stand for something?
@@lauramitchell6725 autonomous sensory meridian response
@@emilygrace9760 Thank you so much,I’m trying to come into the 21st century 👍🤣
We need longer videos MaCenna !!! I love this !!
Why not doing 1 big window instead of 3 windows? It will bring more light into the room and the view will be better from every angle. This is my favorite series and i like how strong you are and how much efford you put to salvage as much as you can. Keep going🎨🎨🎨🎨
Picture windows don’t typically look cottage like, also that view is just the road.🤔
Loved having a breakdown of what’s happening in each room before starting the demo! It was more fun to visualize the end product throughout the whole process!
Literally turned on bell notifications so I don’t miss an episode of this series 😍
I watch every Monday before work, or if I don't have time, after work. It's such a treat. Love this channel!!
You have such a beautiful and bright energy! I've lived renting furnished rooms for two years and I have nothing that fits my personality, you've inspired me to start making my space my own. Thank you. 🖤
Hey maccena i just wanted to say that u r amazing and you give evrything a go even if u dint kniw how to do it. u inspire me to do the same
This is easily my favorite content on UA-cam right now. I can not wait to see where all of your hard work takes you. I have no doubt it will be gorgeous.
**imagining you selling the cutest crowbar set in the future** 🦅🐥🐣
hahhahh love that
“She has an angle “ 😂😂 that’s so adorable how it’s like you have little helpers. Love your vision for your home!!! Can’t wait to see it all come together ❤️
Macenna: Right!?
Romeo: Right.
Blindly agrees 😆 This was fun!
I think you forgot the Macenna *scary face intense stare"
I'm working on a project right now. Took a break to eat and watch this video. What I've learned is planning is key. Some times when you are jumbled with tons of ideas, you pick the one you have gone back to 100 times and send it.
Girl you are gonna be ripped after this hours Reno! 😂 looks like such a good workout.
So enjoyable watching all the work taking place and transforming the cottage.
@mcenna .. can i ask if you aren't planning on living at the cottage, how will you look after the guest cottages?.. wouldnt it be better to leave LA and move in? keep eye on cottages and be near parents/.?.. i am so jealous of what you got xx
Btw; having the rain sounds was AMAZING ! Wouldn’t mind just an ASMR of full rain sounds with the visuals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💕💕💕💕
What a job. At least we got to see Romeo's legs! Laugh. 🌞🏝💜
Hahaha
Uncovering the wood on the walls and floor...beautiful!
I need more videos. I also miss seeing Romeo, a sweet guy.
I give you so much credit for tackling these projects yourself!? You’re awesome!
As an European I'm always amazed by the fact that most of North American houses are built in wood ! Good job guys !
Yes and that they can so easily break down walls, change window placements etc.
I literally look forward to you posting these videos every Sunday! You are so creative and thorough! I wish I had watched this before I made over my own house because there’s so many small decisions you don’t think about and I ended up having to rush and make decisions on things that I now would have changed looking back!
Man, you have PATIENCE! Taking up the linoleum by using the heat gun looked like SUCH a tedious, long process!
I’m so glad Romeo is with you!
I’m gutted this isn’t going to your main house 😭😭
Romeo needs safety goggles! A trip to ER will cost way more!
When we pulled up the old vinyl flooring in our kitchen we used a very old iron that we didn’t care about anymore and a tool just like tiny crow.😊 You rock girl, and I love watching this series. Thanks for sharing.🥰🙏🏼❤️
