Ésta canción me da tranquilidad,me gusta, eres único, el mejor cantante fuera de serie , cuándo naciste se rompió el molde, Tom eres lo máximo me encantas todo tu, te amo ❤❤❤
Johnnie Spence did the arrangements for both Gilbert and Tom, and were vastly different, even when Jones recorded an O'Sullivan tune. So, I don't know if your theory is quite sound with regard to the Mills treatment.🤔
I enjoy listening to other artists interpretation's of Gilbert material, this one is no exception. My comment was aimed purely at the sentimentality of the idea of how Gilbert may have sounded under Gordon Mills and as you pointed out Johnnie Spence.
@@alustyape I don't fault you that. For myself, though, ever since reading Nina Simone's simply horrific lyrics for Alone Again, I generally avoid other artists' versions of Gilbert (I haven't even heard all of *his* records yet)--unless it's Tom--and, while Tom Jones is the greatest singer of this or likely any time, I have to say I much prefer the original of Nothing Rhymed. We had all of Tom's albums at home growing up, so, I'm sure I heard the song 100 times before I rediscovered Gilbert (whose early singles were never played in the US) and had the pleasure of that gem.
@@Pythonette I had never heard Nina Simone's interpretation, for the want of a better word, and I am surprised Gilbert allowed her to re-write the song. USA had the advantage of having four major numbers on their first LP Himself MAM 4 having been re-titled 'Featuring' Alone Again, as the LP already had Nothing Rhymed and We Will, it also had the popular Matrimony. There are many Best Of CD's out there, my friend and my favourite was from 1991 Issued on Rhino R2 70560 again from USA..
@@alustyape I, too, am surprised, as it changes the entire point of view, making it dismally self-centered. Gilbert is an absolute lyrical genius, which makes it more disappointing that he won't allow the song to be used for karaoke. Although it's a sad piece, it's such a significant one--and suppose someone could feel good about his own singing by rendering a version at home? It doesn't have to be just drunk partiers.
Friendship starts somewhere. It blooms into a life time friend. Friends are a good thing to have. A true friend passes the test of time. ❤😊
Mellowing out after my first day of treatment. Gonna just go to sleep here shortly. Keep singing as long as you want. We'll all listen...😊❤
