Elune thrives in the night. before the Titans came, every night, she would cause all creature upon Azoroth to rest, if not slumber, as well as heal. so her power seems to thrive in the night. we've yet to see her do much during the day... even the two races she created, Trolls and Elves, both prefer the night/dark

My theory was that Elune is both light and shadow, think of the cycle of the moon, light and dark. She has something to do with naaru, how they have a light and a dark form. What ever elune is it's some entity that sits between light and dark.

no, they are not corrupted, once a naaru use all the light inside them, they must pass for a recovery phase, where they bacame filled with void energy, after a few months on that form, they are healed and back on their old self, now, if a naaru is abused, like having his energie drained in that void state, he will become void gods (those big voidwalkers)

The Tears of Elune make more sense now when you see that cinematic. It wasn't just as simple as going and getting the Tears. The only way to cleanse corruption is death. Elune shed her tears at the loss of such a noble creature and for our part in releasing Ysera from the corruption.
Dying soldier in Icecrown? So much cleansing, nothing works until the Narru take him, I sniffle a bit. Maraad's death at the hand of Blackhand during WoD and says to Yrel with his last dying breath "in the Light, we are one...", gets me every time. I tremble when Tirion is nearly literally burned alive by Fel fire. I choke up when I see Varian stab a Fel Reaver in the face and then get done in by Gul'dan by being stabbed in the back (literally) by his cowardly demons... but the death of Ysera... fuck. Our moon is just a large chunk of Earth that broke off millions of years ago when something big hit it, I imagine Elune is much the same for Azeroth so it's her child, and it's been pretty obvious that ever since we learned Azeroth is a female titan that she's the Earth Mother that the old Tauren legends speak of. I really don't know why so many people think Azeroth is Elune. It gives Blizzard the perfect excuse to create another titan, just one that isn't as powerful as the others, and one that we're not living on at the moment.

I believe Elune is like the counterpart of the Void Lords, that she's responsible for not only the Naaru but perhaps aswell the Titans? Like she's the pure light out in the universe and with the creation of Azeroth, she perhaps put some of herself into the Titan Soul, rendering it the strongest one out there, which would fit with the Well of Eternity being 'the Blood of Azeroth' itself and having these magical, properties about Elune and communing to her. Aswell is it shown that Elune is much more compassionate and not as fierce as the Naaru are, which might tell that she's above those too. Either thing'd be very interesting to see in the coming addons.

I think Elune may be the consciousness of the Light. The light may be the embodiment, and Elune may be the consciousness. Titan spirit in Azoroth is so strong that Elune herself is guiding her. The turren worship the Earth Mother. The Earth Mother is the Elune mothering Azoroth. I really don't think Elune is a Naru, but the Naru the Light condensed. Valen is wrong about Elune because not even the Naru understand what Elune is. The Naru are just manifestations of the light, and such are cut off from the consciousness of the night. The Titans don't even understand Elune, or Sargeras would have turned to Elune rather then chaos to stop the voidlords. The Titans understood the light, but never communed with the consciousness. The Titans awoke from there slumber to find what they thought was an empty universe. They knew where they came from, but never asked where the light came from. The Naru know they came from Elune, but Naru also come from older Naru, so they assume Elune is a Naru. Nozdormu Witnessed both the Oldgods and Elune in the Well of Eternity. Nozdormu was not consumed by the madness at the time because Elune showed a vision of the Oldgod's grasp and was then able to escape before hearing the whispers. The dark trolls/nightelfs were able to commune with Elune because of the added power of the Well of Eternity, AND they overheard Elune teaching and guiding Azoroth.
The night elfs, Void Lords, The Void itself (if it has consciousness) and maybe Oldgods are the only ones in the Warcraft Universe that know about Elune. The Oldgods may know just so they don't make any mistakes to give hope in the power of Elune. The Oldgods don't talk about Elune in hopes that others will forget.
Sargeras does not know about Elune, but is the closest to knowing outside of the night elfs since he understands the Void.
Just a quick note. The Titans were really stupid. Sargeras is fighting a losing war with Azoroth, but is counting on his power to win. This is why he recruited the Eradar and Nathrezim. They were the most cunning.
Also the Void (if it has consciousness) and Elune can never really defeat each other. They are stuck in an eternal war fueled by the offensiveness of the other's creations. Each are racing for the ultimate weapon that can invade, and destroy the other's creations. The Oldgods are the Void's weapon that can reach to the light side. The Titans were just a proof on concept for the creation of Azoroth. Azoroth is Elune's weapon to destroy The Void's creations. IT IS REALLY UP TO THE HEROES OF ELUNE'S CREATION TO SET UP A LASTING WALL BETWEEN THE VOID AND ELUNE

Well how about this: Elune is the light, which Arcane is a down step from light. Light is purity and arcane is order. Arcane has to come from the light. Void Lords are the shadow/void and mostly use corruption in order to destroy and conquer. Fel is chaos, which is known as a corruption, just like void is. I would say that Arcane is part of the Light, but a step down. Fel is part of the void, but a step down.
Proof of Void and Fel: We have seen within the raids that Fel corrupts, Sargeras, a Titan that changed. The Fel has even gone so far to use void beings, such as Void Lords in the raids. Fel is part of the shadow. Then you have the fact that the void twists and corrupts beings into different beings.
Proof of Light and Arcane: Both are peace and order. The Naruu is light incarnate, but beings created by a creator, aka Elune. The universe was somehow born. We know the Void Lords did not want it and are trying to destroy it. Arcane is order, which the Light has always had as one of its virtues. They both work together, hand in hand. Both do not corrupt.

I think Elune isnt a Naaru, since her powers seem to be far beyond them, and that she is actually the creator of the Naaru to spread her light across the universe. In fact, I see the Void Lords to be equal with the Naaru and there is probably an Elune level being that is the master of them. I like to think there was once a single being in an endless void of nothingness and in their lonliness, split itself, a being of light and shadow, into two so that it would have a companion, which is the real origination of the universe. The Naaru were created when the Void Master created minions to corrupt the universe, so instead of having a companion to share their time with, they became adversaries. Elune created the Naaru to combat the Void Lords who in turn created what we call the old gods, the Naaru created the Pantheon to spread the light of elune and bring life to the universe. Keeping things in order. The old gods being there to corrupt and destroy the light, bringing it into shadow. Beings of light can be corrupted and brought into shadow, while beings of shadow can be purified and brought into light.
Unfortunately, Sargeras took his role too seriously, and slaughtered the Pantheon, and created the Burning Legion to kill all life and the source of all life, which is Elune, thinking she will eventually be corrupted. Which would plunge the universe into shadow. Elune knows there must be balance, where there is light, there will always be shadow, and shadow can not exist with out light to create it. Which would explain the child of light and shadow prophecy. There is one who tows the line between both sides, that will bring balance to the whole thing once again because of Sargeras' actions causing an imbalance.
Of course this is my own thoughts on it, and who knows what Blizzard does.

Hey nobbel, this is actually a Lord Argument I have had with many people, and what I've eventually boiled it down to is, Elune is all 3, that the Night Elves believe is a single entity. The being that made Cenarius, with Malonre, as well as the other connections to nature, was likely Freya, the Titan Watcher. The being that gives the Night Elves their power over Light is likely a Narru, hidden away somewhere in the stars. And finally, there is the Titan, who lives in the well. She is the one who taught the Night Elves how to use Arcane, and all that junk. And though these are 3 separate entities, the Night Elves see all these actions as having been done by one being, Elune. At least, that's what makes the most sense to me.

Could this mean that this "different realm" that Nozdormu visited was, perhaps, the realm of Nya'lotha ?

Its not that its non cannon, its that the dude is a bad writer so his stuff gets retconned a lot more then average, which isn't helped by the fact that it the specific book you are quoting is pre-wow old. Look at it ambiguously cannon. The broad strokes are right, as is anything that has been confirmed by a second source, but speculating on specifics are worthless. For example, in the second book it is very clear about the fact that everyone and everything in Suramar died. That changed at some point.
Your specific example doesn't really make sense in the context of the well described in more modern sources. Ny'alotha is also something we don't know much about. Therefore, it is probably not worth it to speculate.

It's possible that the communications the early trolls had were a case of mistaken identity, maybe they were talking to Azeroth but thought she was Elune.
Chronicles mentions the realm of light and void and the constant struggle in that realm that caused the big bang and the Naruu were created then, so too were the titans.
So I believe that Elune comes from the universe of light and void, so I think she is the counter part to the voidlords.
In the old Warcraft RPGs they mentioned that Elune was the only true goddess in Warcraft.

Well let me tell you this. As far as I know about the relation between Elune and Goldriin my theory is that the wild god did not wanted to be tamed or befriended by anyone and Elune was disappointed with him for his savagery but during the war of the ancient's Goldriin did fight bravely to save as many lives as he could and that particular self act elevated him to the eyes of Elune realizing that she can at least sooth his rage so that he can not be all that bloodlust all the time. That's what I think it goes with that relationship. Almost the same thing happens with the worgen on their trial of balance to be both man and beast. At any rate great video Nobbel. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

What if Elune was this perfect being that was responsible for the clash between light and shadow? I've always wondered why we think that light = good and void = bad. One can not exist without the other and our ways (the light) aren't necessarily better than theirs (the shadow), the Void Lords and all their minions just see things differently.
My guess would be that Elune is not only responsible for the creation of the Naaru but also the Void Lords. In that case she would be the perfect balance of light and shadow. In Ysera's cinematic we can see presumably Elune take her spirit. But here, she doesn't just appear as a glowing moon but rather as an Eclipse. And what forms an eclipse? The sun and the moon together - light and shadow. This could potentialy explain several void aspects related to elune, like why some priests have such a strong connection to the void. Maybe Elune's blessing "empowers the side you're on based on the way you see things.
Maybe what Elune wants is peace between both "factions", but all the Naaru and the Void Lords want is defeating each other, not realizing it might destroy them too. All that's going on on Azeroth now is due to those two fighting each other, and all the races picking sides and waging war. Even Sargeras and his Burning Legion are a result of a Titan being afraid that the Void Lords might win this war and thus decided to wipe the universe. Which explains why Elune is helping us defeat the Legion, but might also suggest that she's helping the void defeat them too.
I would really love it if she was this Hybrid entity, showing us the way of balance and peace. Because right now we have a "you're wrong, I'm right and there's nothing you can say to convince me" attitude and it's really bugging me tbh. Light and shadow are supposed to be equals, we need both order and chaos, what gives us the right to think our ways is superior?

I'm quite certain Elune is both light and shadow, the master creator of the universe. I think the Night Elves have it pretty wrong on what she truly is. The Moon is a perfect representation of her however, the moon casts light unto the world, and where there is light there is shadow. Plus, the Moon has a dark side as well, and she gave Night Elves "Shadowmeld" take a hint there.
Elune seems highly likely to be the supreme creator of the universe, to have the ability to create a constellation merely to honor a dragon seems leaps and bounds above what we've seen from any other entities calling themselves deities. There's a great duality between light and dark, and you have to figure. When Ysera was blessed by Elune during that cinematic, there was an Eclipse. A literal amalgam of light and shadow, black as the darkest night and blinding as the brightest days.

Elune is a Light Lord (counterpart to the Void Lords) that created the Naaru.
Her might turned Ysera into a star pattern in the sky or maybe even into a Naaru.
I speculate that will get to see her in the far future when we will have to fight the Void.
And that's typical for Warcraft: She's getting corrupted and we have to kill her with the help of A'dal.

  • @vaxfantomen
    @vaxfantomen 7 років тому +2

Considering that Elune's power is greater at night would imply that she dont like sunlight. If thats the case, it would seem like the mother moon is some sort of dark beeing that embraced the light (like a reverse sargaras) but can't really hold the power directly like Naru.... can but she can reflect light just like the moon does. The only way Elune could "clense" Ysera druing her death is through a eqlipse for example.
So, for me Elune seems like a sister of Azeroth, the shadow/caretaker while she lies dorment inside the earth. Elune will look after anyone that protects her (azeroth). And trough the well of eternity ages ago Elune could finally contact and trust some of the younger races. Elune might even have influenced the Darktrolls to become nightelves in order for them to grant an affinity for the night, when her pressence and power is the strongest.
But yeah, all this is just a shoot in the dark....

I think Elune is more than a Titan or a Naaru, from what we know she's pretty much Sehanine Moonbow from the forgotten realms' setting of D&D.
    Quoting Chris Metzen himself :
"My only real training before joining Blizzard was the long-running D&D campaign I had with my closest friends-Sam, Mike P., Daniel, and Mikey C. (you know who you are, boys…HAMRO!). Building ideas-vast worldscapes, characters, and plotlines with my friends was my first great love. I lived for it. It was a safe space amid the tension and change of some rough teenage years. The grand refuge of D&D was a glorious meeting of minds and imaginations where I felt I truly belonged."
Sooo, Sehanine/Elune what makes me say they're the same ?
They are both good elven deity.
They are both goddess of the moon.
They are both known to give visions and omens to their worshippers.
Sehanine is mainly worshipped by the "Moon Elves". Elune is mainly worshipped by the "Night Elves".
Sehanine's Tears is said to have given life to the elves when mixed with the blood of Corellon. Elune's Tears is one of the pillars of creation.
Sehanine watches over the passage of elven spirits from the world and is the protectress of the deads. Elune might have protected Ysera's spirit with the magical show when she died (maybe a bit far fetched but we do know of plenty of elvens spirits who can still call upon her powers)
Lastly, Sehanine's power is supposed to waxes and wanes in tune with the phases of the moon, a theme we can see too in the sister's of the moon bossfight in ToS.
Now with that in mind giving us a clue of where the man who wrote the lore came from and those similarities, i think Elune is the light's equivalent of the void lord, some kind of godlike entity made of light living in another dimension strongly limiting her ability to interact with the world. Maybe the only one "alive" maybe not (we do know there's multiple void lords so why not multiple light lords ?)

I am also really happy that you finally made a video on Elune, since I've had some speculation for a long time. "My" theory is, could Elune possibly be a Loa? Since the Loa is connected with trolls, and Night Elves are descendants of the dark trolls. We have also seen Loa's manifest into the physical world before (Hakkar and the Gurubashi trolls), which could in turn explain how Elune could have gotten Cenarius with Malorne. I know it's a stretch, but this is something I've thought could be the case for a long time.

      Opposite of fel.
      Not counter to fel.
Life and death are two state's of being.
Light and dark are two parts of seeing.
Arcane and fel are two forms of magic.
      In modern day religion:
Death is the absence of life.
Cold is the absence of heat.
Dark is the absence of light.
There is no darkness that doesnt flee from the light.
Basicly both side's cant be in the same place at the same time.
Personal i see the difference between arcane and fell like using a normal bomb vs a nuclear bomb.
Both get the job done but only one leaves the land uninhabitable.
And like real life people are far more interested in nuclear weaponry then the safe and reliable kind.

      Light is the highest tier
Arcane is the second from the light
      Void is the highest tier
Fel is the second from the Void
Void corrupts and creates shadow beings
      Fel are corrupt beings.
Light heals and creates pure beings
      Arcane are pure beings.
Therefore Arcane is a down step from the light.
Therefore Fel is a down step from the Void.
Therefore both are the enemies of each other.
We have seen Fel use Void, but Void is older then Fel. We can say that Void created Fel. Both Void and Fel corrupt.
We have seen Arcane use the attributes of light, such as star fall. We can say that Light created Arcane Both Light and Arcane purify.

I think Elune is the closest think we'll get to "God" in this game. I know there have been multiple beings that have been seen as gods, but I mean there are a few tiers between shadow and the old gods on that map. When it comes to light, It just goes to from light to Naruu. Now we learn that she has made Naruu in the past? If she isn't a light lord, then she is at least the light's champion.
Don't know how the other races of Azeroth will take this, knowing their gods/idols are nothing but her soldiers or henchmen. Religion might be the next big reason for infighting between factions and maybe inside the factions themselves.

Elune (or Mu'sha, as she is called by the tauren) is the primary goddess of the night elf pantheon. Elune is one of the few true deities of Azeroth.

I am surprized they evolved from trolls. I like to have a whole video about the moon goddess of Elune. She has links to both nature and the light. Maybe this is why night elves can be both druids and priests. Elune gives night elves good stealth and shadowmeld ability. Mybe this is why nightelves can be rogues. Night elves can train warriors like other races. They are also good with archery and nature, so they become hunters. That accounts for all classes night elves can be in vanilla. They did add mage in cataclism. I found it wierd. I thought night elves hated the arcane, and even banished those practicing that. Blood elves on the other hand had access to the mage class since thier debut in burning crusade. It makes sense as blood elves are attached obsessivly to arcane magic. I like the idea of Elune being the titan inside Azeroth. Maybe this same titan is called the Earthmother by the tauren. It is deity inside the earth. So having some kind of mother earth aspect would make sense. It is cool that the moon goddess is linked to werewolves. Both have a strong affinity for the moon. I am very fond of worgen as well. Thier starting zone is my favorite questing area in the whole game. I am familiar with the story. The first worgan were renegade night elf druids, which developed the form of the wolf. Later the worgen bit the humans of Gilnaus. Then the humans become the kind of worgen that is playable. The worgen connect with the night elves, regain humanity and fight forsaken zombies. The story is so touching and so awesome. Now that I think of it, there are wargin in Gilnaus and Silverpine in northern part of Eastern Kingdoms. That is close to where the blood elves live. Maybe the night elf wargan went with the night elf mages in the exile. There are also Forsaken there too. THey are based on another human kingdom called Lorderon. Then the Scourge turned them into zombies. Sylvanas was a blood elf turned to a zombie. She revolted against the Scourge with zombies and formed the forsaken. I have just thought more about the worgen of Ginaus. They are wolf people. They live in the north. They put a wall on thier northern border to keep zombies out. They prefer to stay out of the politics of the mighty Stromwind Empire of the south. So in way, the worgen are a lot like the Starks, which is my favorite house in Game of Thrones. When I play a worgen in the starking zone, I like to think of jokes. The worgen silly emotes are hillarious. I like to add the joke "Let's build the wall and make the Forsaken pay for it". Now I can think of another joke for the first signs of Forsaken invasion. I can say "Winter is coming". Genn Greymane was good friends with Anduin Wyrnn. Maybe they are like Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon respectively. The story of Elune falling in love with a beautiful white stag to form dryads is odd. That does remind me of a Greek myth. It really does not make the Minoan people look good. The Minoans had a magnificent white bull. The king was supposed to sacrifice the bull to the deities. However he decided to keep him for himself. The deities gave a strange punishment. The king had a female relative. She fell in love with the white bull. She eventually bred with him. Then they had a horrible monster, called the Minotaur. After this origin story, the Minotaur was involved by the labrynth and Thesius. I wonder if there can be similar humanoid on cattle affairs and breeding. That could explain the origin of the Tauren. These kinds of shenanningans seem strange, but they happen all the time in folklore. The are called animal bridegroom stories or beauty and the beast stories. The minotaur origion story isn't even the only one in Greek mythology. There is also Europa and the Bull, and Leda and the Swan. What can I say? Zeus got around. The most touching in my opinion was Eros and Psyche. Apollo goes even further and messes with plants. The most famous is the Daphne affair which explains his fondness for laurel trees. I like to imagine animal bridegroom stories. My favorite scenario is hot woman on stallion action. I just have a wierd fondness for horses. Now that it think of it, it could explain the origin of centaurs. It could work for Greek mythology or WoW. Humans can't breed at all with other species in real life. The only possible exception I know of is neandrathals. Mixing is fantasy is odd. It could lead to some interesting designs for hybrid creatures.

Elune is probably something much more. Than light. To me it seems that Elune is the balance one of the few grey beings so to speak. Both light and shadow. Benevolent yet judgmental. Elune is probably the creator of the Naaru but also the void. Our one omnipotent being yet unable to act perhaps if she did the balance would break and so the universe.

What if Elune is another titan spirit that is in the moon ?

    • @cainabel6356
      @cainabel6356 6 років тому +1

Doubt it. The Void Lords created the Old Gods to try to corrupt the Titan spirit. They almost corrupted a Titan inside its planet, before Sargeras cut it in half. Then he went and did his own thing. The other Titans found Azeroth and chained the Old Gods, to keep Azeroth clean from their corruption. They would have known that the Moon has a Titan spirit in it. They could always tell if planets contained a Titan's spirit. Elune is the opposite of the Void Lords, hence she was there when the Void Lords where there.

Following Nobbels idea about Elune being the Titan spirit inside Azeroth I got a idea, yes Elune is the Titan spirit and she has at least partially awoken but cannot use her powers to her full extent......yet. She uses the moon as a sort of focus or gate to allow her to use her powers to aid the mortals in fighting all powers that would corrupt or harm them whilst also helping her priestesses whom with this theory are basically a TITAN'S workers. Think of it like a wand or staff that most wizards/mages use to channel and focus. This would explain at least to a degree why all her powers are in some way linked to the moon.

One thing I noticed about the Ordering of the Cosmos diagram is on the Void it shows Voidlords and Old Gods. Where Voidlords are between the Void and the physical plane, there's nothing shown between the physical plane and the Light. It seems reasonable to assume Elune is the embodiment of Light as Voidlords embody darkness. She can grant power to others along with letting others draw power and potentially created the Naaru as speculated, like how Shadow Priests draw power from the Void and the Voidlords created the Old Gods.
However, like Naaru and Void gods, Elune may have a dark side. Maybe her Light form is Elune but her Void side is a creature like Dimensius.

Elune is the light counterpart (either the only one or one of) to the void lords, likely unable to be able to manifest into the physical world like the void lords, she created the naaru (x'era explicitly states this) which are the closest counterparts to the old golds. This is the retconned lore and since its from legion it would supersede any evidence to elune being a titan or wild god or anything else the game implies throughout previous expansions.

  • @tarjcor9641

I think Elune is a "primordial" one. A manifestation of the consciousness of the energy into the first matters that took form. I suspect elune as being one of the first consciouss being that formed from the chaos of the "Universe".

There are two problems with Elune
    1. It's only the moon - the sun outranks the moon as the sun is the true source of Light, the moon merely refelcts it. Where is a proper sun god in WoW?
    2. Azeroth has two moons - Mu'sha and An'she are the eyes of hte Earth mother then what is the blue child? Why is there so littel mention of it? Is the blue child also Elune or the daughter of Elune or what exactly?

    • @Flatkap
      @Flatkap 7 років тому

Mu'sha and An'she being the eyes of the earth mother is what the Tauren believe them to be, so really, it is just the tauren names for the Sun and the moon. And, the blue child is the smaller one of the two moons (the larger one is Mu'sha/The White Lady, and the smaller moon is The Blue Child)

Elune is most likely Eonar the life binding titan. She gave freya the keeper her nature powers, created the emerald dream and was the titan that cared for the well of eternity before sargeras destroyed her physical form. Her soul has been hiding on the planet Elunaria. Now that’s a hint if I ever seen one from the writers.

I'ma guess that they are the light version of void lords and they made everything in that circle. the talking through the well either means the spirit inside is a minion of her, elune talks to it, or elune used the well as a portal to talk through. I can see them doing a thing where elune was healing the spirit of azeroth. Maybe couldn't do it fully but enough and the old gods being a virus trying to get it sick again.

I always found Elune interesting, because it's the one entity in Warcraft that Blizzard has officially referred to as a 'God'. Most others with that title have misnomers such as Old God or Wild God, and none besides Elune have shown powers equal to a true deity. Not sure what she'll end up being, but my guess is either the greater the force of light behind the Naaru (as you suggested Nobbel) or possibly the spirit of the moon. It would be so simple, having her be exactly the thing she's claimed to be. She could be something of a minor titan spirit, akin to Azeroth, but unique from all the others in how she interacts with the universe.

  • @Zekurity
    @Zekurity 7 років тому +1

Elune is probably the titan inside Azeroth. Considering that the guy who turned into diamond by the titan inside Azeroth said it was a she and it would fit with the pillars of creation and the ability to create the Na'aru.

"Before life began and before even the universe existed, there was only the Light. The Light existed as a boundless sea of living energy, swelling across all of existence, unfettered by time and space. Yet as the ever-shifting sea expanded, pockets of cold nothingness appeared. From these spaces, the Void coalesced. The Void quickly grew and began to move against the Light, and before long, the mounting tension between the two forces ignited a series of explosions that ruptured the very fabric of creation, giving birth to the physical universe.
The energies released from the clashing of Light and Void raged across the nascent cosmos, forming countless primordial worlds. For long epochs, the ever-expanding Great Dark Beyond broiled in a maelstrom of fire and magic. Shards of Light were flung throughout reality, suffusing worlds with the spark of life. Various types of energies came to be (such as death).
    ........................................................................
The cataclysmic birth of the cosmos also flung shards of Light throughout reality. These shards suffused the matter of myriad worlds with the spark of life , giving rise to creatures of wondrous and terrible diversity.
    ........................................................................
Occasionally, clouds of fractured light gathered and gave shape of beings of far greater power, of far greater potential. Among these were the naaru, benevolent creatures composed of scintillating holy energies. When they gazed out across the immeasurable universe, they saw a realm of limitless possibilities. The naaru vowed to use their mastery over holy magic to spread hope and nurture life wherever they could find it." (Chronicle 1)
The only explanation for Elune giving birth to th naaru, is her being the ocean of light. Since Azeroth is the last world soul, Elune probably decided to guard it from a moon. That's my theory. Now, Nobbel, let's contradict your theory: titans use arcane magic, not light.

Elune was heard by the night elves in the well of eternity, guiding Azeroth, and the tauren speak of elune as the right eye of the earthmother that she tore out when she saw her children turn to the dark whispers of the earth (the other eye being an'she, the sun). Elune was the eye of Eonar, watching over her and guiding her as she communed with Azeroth's healing wound, the Well of Eternity. Nobody said a Titan couldn't make a Naaru out of the first primordial fragments of light within the universe, bringing order to these fragments to form a single amalgam of light. Why not the lifebender, who'd have a vested interest in developing a counter to the void consuming all life.

When you rementioned that the night elves claimed that Cenarius was the child of Malorne and Elune at 10:42. I couldn't help but picture a bunch of night elves seeing Cenarius and just going: you're the child of Elune and Malorne. While Cenarius tried to reason with them and going: No, i'm the son of-, only to be interrupted by the night elves saying: nope you're the son of Elune and Malorne now

Elune was not pregnant like a human with Cenarius. We are talking about an omnipotent God who could bring things into being because she wanted to. It was her love for Malorne that caused Cenarius's birth to occur. Maybe she had an earthly stag carry the child, think of Mary carrying Jesus.
