    Wow an animal content youtuber actually listening to suggestions and making improvements...? I'm impressed. Mad props bro.
    My only suggestion is maybe get a background for the tank? It makes it look cleaner and cozier. You could get one with plants on it or even just black! Floating plants would be great too!

    Hi Griffin, glad you switched out the plastic for real plants. I noticed you planted the Java Fern into the substrate. That will kill your plant. They get their neutrients from the water column actually, not the roots. A popular way to 'plant' them is to glue them onto a rock or piece of wood. Most people use Gorilla super glue JELL. Put a bit of glue on your rock or wood, then hold the plants rhyzome in the glue for a few seconds or so, and it will stick. Then place back into the tank wherever you want it. This type of glue is perfectly safe for your fish. Anyhow, thanks for sharing. Love watching your new ventures in fish keeping! You're doing great! Keep up the good work!

    I know that beta fish do like to jump so I would recommend trying to find a lid or using some floating plants to discourage jumping out. Also noticed he spit the food out a couple times at the end that might be a sign that the food is a bit too big for his little mouth. Great job overall can tell that you really care about your little buddy

    Bobby Blue is an amazing name! I love all the natural stuff. One of my favorate things is to suction cup a leaf up near the top of the tank. this provides a resting spot on more levels.

    Hey Griffin, Thanks for the update. "Bobby Blue" is actually the perfect name. Love the new real plants, etc. Looks much better and a more natural setting for him. You obviously listened to the suggestions and did a great job. Thank You, as always Griffin, for sharing and look forward to your next video & "Bobby Blu" update. Take Care.

    Damn, definitely a good upgrade! Good to know the sponge is working, also smart taking out the sharp plants, they didn’t look to sharp but bettas are dumb . I’d suggest getting a kit to measure water parameters especially gh and kh. Can dial in the water for those plants, also will help you know when you have to many minerals from the spring water. If you always use spring water you’ll eventually have to many minerals since those don’t get sucked up as easily during water changes, learned that the hard way. Distilled or ro water is good to use when you think your tank dosent need the spring water. Good to start with spring water, just not needed for every water change.

    This is great! I love that you spent the time and money to upgrade the tank for your betta!!!! Someone else already said to glue your java fern to some small rocks with the super blue gorilla gel. The only other thing that I might recommend would be a few floating plants. That will also help reduce a little bit of the light for him if you want to have your tank light on more often. Bravo to you! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  • @MattStrike
    @MattStrike Рік тому +1

    Good improvement bro, You should take your java ferns out of the gravel as the roots will rot. The plants can be glued with an aquarium glue or tied with cotton onto a rock or piece of wood until it attaches itself. I think doing some lava rock would be best as it wont effect your water parameters. Heaps of videos on making plant substrates if that interests you so you and bobby have a beautiful tank in your home. Have a good one

    That is such a cute name. Love the tank setup now, but one more thing that your fish would love is a leaf hammock, as they do breath air he would love somewhere to relax but still be close to the surface of the water.

    Griffin, I haven’t added fish to my tank in years and was considering selling it all. I was down to nothing but 5 cories and a few snails. Then I watched your last video, and I went out and bought some new plants and two female bettas for my 30 gallon. Yeah, it’s a lot of tank for 7 fish!

    • @EquiEsti6194
      @EquiEsti6194 Рік тому +2

      It’s actually not a lot at all. It’s kind of the minimum for the kind of fish you have..

    • @bimiup1
      @bimiup1 Рік тому

      @@EquiEsti6194 I disagree with you. 7 two inch fish do not put much bio load in 30 gallons of filtered, aerated water

    • @EquiEsti6194
      @EquiEsti6194 Рік тому +1

      @@bimiup1 no but that’s the minimum size needed for those fish in general, it’s not all about bioload. Corys are very active and need room to move. Two bettas (even females) shouldn’t be together because that’s not even a proper sorority but I suppose a heavily planted 30 gal would be sufficient room for them to get away from eachother when needed.

I also did the same thing with my filter :) maybe get a nice bushy plant for the middle? other than that its amazing!!

    Hey griffin I’m not an expert on betas but I know a few things. Good job on switching out the fake bad plants for real ones, a recommendation I have is if you could add some spider wood or wood in the middle section. If you do add that you can weave moss ferns and other plants around the wood. A personal favorite plant of mine that grows really well and bettas and other small fish like is money wart so maybe you could add some money wart

    Great video. You can also look into getting him some floating plants bettas in addition to having gills like other fish they also have a labyrinth organ and can take in a breath of air and the organ is kind of like a lung . They love to sleep in plants close to the surface and occasionally taking in some surface air . Especially the big fin males need the rest . Looking good
