- George Harrison being interviewed via satellite on Australian television by Ray Martin. Topics discussed include the recording and release of the "Cloud 9" album, Paul's "no show" at the Beatles induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and George's current relationship with both Ringo and Paul. Broadcast: 10th February 1988.
I love Paul, John and Ringo, but I George was easily the most humble and coolest of all of them.
George is my favorite Beatle, and in my opinion he was by far the best solo artist out of all of The Beatles.
George is my favorite Beatle ❤️
Really down-to-earth bloke, and he stayed in England, not like most other famous people !!!Jeff Lynn is another brilliant writer & performer.
George puts down some of his other solo LP's but when I listen to them, they are masterly produced and great to hear like Somewhere In England, the album titled George Harrison,33 and a 3rd, even Extra Texture. Beautifully arranged albums with great musicians backing up Mr Harrison. And what about Dark Horse??? Damn, every solo album George recorded was awesome! I really appreciate George's spiritual approach.
A beautiful spiritual man
Ha! Georgie's so cute!! Miss him sooooooo much!! RIP my hero!!
Cloud 9 is a brilliant album.
very talented man. I liked John, paul and ringo, but George was always my favourite too!!
God, I love 80s hair. :D
Seriously, George's hair looks fabulous!
Griwhoolda He's rockin' the Dippity Do 'do!
George had great hair❤
I still love his dry humor and humility. He can still poke fun at himself. Unlike a lot of other musicians with his success he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously.
He is so sexy and handsome. Wow. I love you, George! You have been gone 17 years today. I miss you. ❤️🌹❤️
No, he wasn't a mediocrity. Not in any way.
He was a world class songwriter - Sinatra said that "Something" was the greatest love song ever.
A mediocre talent does not get compliments like that.
You have to remember what position George was in, he was against the best ever songwriting duo of all time. He was a very accomplished slide guitarist too.
His voice was not great but it did the job and lends a certain charm to his recordings.
A wonderful musician and a dear man. RIP George🕉
So humble ... my best Beatle by far
George was awesome
Thank You JEFF LYNNE for helping George come back into the lime light. George really must have been influenced by JEFF LYNNE to come out of his shell and make a come back. George and Jeff were great friends you can tell because George praised JEFF many time in this interview and mentioned his name ten time. George wanted Jeff to get as much credit as himself for making cloud nine album a hit.
He's a GREAT man,
Thank you George
I love you, Gorgeous George! You get better looking all the time! You have great talent in many different areas! ❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻❤️😻
Love you! All these years later your words are truer than ever!!!!!
Jeff Lynne and George Harrison the very best ever.
"When We Was Fab" is just so cool, the song and video. :-)
Interesting how George's comments re: live drumming vs. computerized timing are still relevant 20 years later!
George was always the least comfortable with the fame and limelight. he survived long with the Beatles because John and Paul were in front of him and drew most of the attention. Also, he is discussing not only a new album, but the (then) current legal feuds with Paul. Paul and George, of all the Beatles, had the worst post-break-up relationship. George resented Paul heavily- Paul's tendency to treat George as a younger brother and Paul leading the Beatles as John and Georgre drifted away.
Love it. Love him. Thank you, hadn't seen this one.
'All Things Must Pass' is easily his best solo record, but 'Cloud 9' is right behind it. It's excellent. :-)
Notice when he talks about Paul he says "Faul", paul is dead, search Paul is really dead the last testament of George Harrison on youtube
Faul has different nose (a bit longer and sharper....)
@Patrick's Channel Comments Yes, he does. You have no idea about the occult world and how dedicated they are to bizarre deceptions.
I say that about Jeff Lynne's production all the time. I do like it on 'Cloud 9' but everything else sounds the same. The Beatles' "Free As a Bird" is a fine example, everything Lynne does sounds like that.
Ooooooh, lovely....
George’s voice was in good form on Cloud 9. I wonder if he had any vocal lessons. RIP George!
Of the four, Paul was the one who would have liked to continue on. Paul was just the first to officially say I'm leaving to the public, the others did it privately. Lennon was ticked that he left before Paul but Paul took the public spotlight for the disbanding.
George is on fun side of life!
He seems troubled in this one.
Great era. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
George is my favorite gardener and musician ❤
great
Who else?
George is Lord
Georgy boy !
I know right
Jeff Lynne's production was lame. Everything sounded the same whether it was George, Tom Petty's solo stuff or the Wilbury's. Just my opinion.
Mr. Licky Lips?
I wouldn'nt argue with that, Paul and John are cool.
Who listens to drums apart from drummers ? All I ask of drummers is that they keep time, not speed up when they get excited or slow down when they lose concentration, just keep the beat with the odd fill or roll and shut the fuck up. Lol
Seriously though, you are right. I like a drummer who learns the drum parts properly not just wings it and keeps the song true to the original but still keeps it interesting.
George composed The Beatles greatest masterpiece as well as their most mediocre songs.
"Fab" is one such crass song.
he was going to say shit
@lightner4455 are u serious?
