What can you say about this guy??? He is a legend and a prince among men. He was by far my favorite Beatle from the very start. He was a kind and gentle man. He had a huge heart and always gave so much of himself to others. He helped many groups to get recognized even putting his own self on a back burner or played with them to help put out a better album. He always put out great music. Some being quite comical like Crackerbox Palace and When we was FAB. The video that goes along with that song is something else. In response to my first question is, there is not enough I can say about this great man. The kids of today and tomorrow will never understand the greatness of this individual. If you made it this far. Thank you very much for your valuable time!!!
Heartwarming statement from George. They really loved each other. It’s nice to know that they got over their complicated business troubles and be friends again.
Yes❤ they really did love each other. They were a family and no family is perfect.
I still say that the closeness of the Beatles’ relationships was personal and long lasting. When George was close to dying, Paul came to his bedside and stayed with hm almost to the end. The four had a relationship that overruled their spats and competitiveness.
That's what everyone would like to believe, but the truth is that they hated each other!!!

No, Ringo went to visit George in Switzerland months before his passing, while Paul visited him just short time before, holding his hand. George passed away in LA in Paul's House!!!
@@johnnyringo9759 i disagree. they were very close and fond with one another, especially in the beginning up until the white album when they started going their own separate ways. Post-break up, i don’t think they “hated” each other, but because their disbanding wasn’t exactly amicable, there’s always this awkward giddiness and petty ego thumping when they met up afterwards.

As a guy born in 1950, I was on the entire ride of the Beatles from a U.S. perspective. George, you were awesome and a hero of mine! Thank you for so many good memories about music making and life!
The picture of George on the cover of the Cloud Nine album is one of my top favorite pictures of him. It just seems to say: "I don't give a crap I'm going to have a good time."
George called that photo on the cover of “Cloud Nine” his “Spot the Looney” shot.
This interview with George was nostalgic. I sense George was nostalgic too lamenting "We was loved." And he was and is for the legacy he left his fans. A gentleman. A creative genius. Honest man.
George is so beautiful to watch, you could listen to him all day...every word is worth listening to , he has such a calm and reflective manner with a lot of wisdom. When we were Fab song captured so wonderfully the beatles core , it is such genius...then again a beatle wrote it !!

Fame never sat easy with George but he was very honest and frank in his interviews
There's been so much written (especially online these days) about how much animosity there was among the members of The Beatles, and how bitter they were, especially George. But this video clip proves how much love there was among the four of them. It was like any divorce really -- at first you only remember the bad times, but as the years past, hopefully the good memories also come back. In fact, these guys were more like brothers than bandmates. You can see it in the way George talks about those years.
Well, George said it all when he said, "We loved John and we loved Paul." There were never these kinds of fights and disagreements in the Beatles in their early years. John, Paul and George had been together since teens and were close as brothers. Ringo came in later but was accepted right away by the other 3 Beatles. Then, George said in one of his interviews that something happened in late 1966 that changed everything. And, that's when the bickering started. A guy like Paul doesn't just go overnight from giving deference to John as the founder and leader of the band and being willing to allow John to be alpha dog to his beta dog and being humble and having humility -- to suddenly, developing a large ego, bickering with all the band members, lawyering up, insisting that things be done his way, and all the rest. It's not difficult to connect the dots. George talks about it as much as he was allowed to in one of his interviews. It did get better with time, and they were able to do a few things together, eventually. It's being disclosed slowly, but when it's officially out for the public, it will all make sense.

I get sick and tired of reading all this retrospective rubbish about The Beatles. All friends have disagreements and fall out from time to time. They lived an intense life in a goldfish bowl for so long. Is it any wonder things got difficult, especially after Brian Epstein died?

“When We Was Fab” is a GREAT record! And George was a very deep person. His son Dhani is a dead ringer for a young George!

I like this interview with George more than I do some of the others where his saltiness or resentment towards Paul was oozing out of him while overshadowing his "love everyone, and peace" attitude which he professed. This interview is more in line with the good side of George where the salt is left on the table.
Only 4 of them and they will forever be remembered as the phenomenon of the 20th century. So happy I grew up with their music starting at age 12. Every morning waking up to a new single they just released.

They were like brothers and all brothers have spats but they still love eachother. They literally grew up together, practically lived together and worked very hard at their music together. Brothers. Extraordinary people. I just saw Beatles Love in Vegas for the fourth time and still I feel like a kid at a concert, singing my lungs out to their incredibly fun music. Timeless. ❤
Aww...LOVE George! I just saw an interview with Julian on Kevin Nealons 'hiking' show. He spent time at Georges house before he passed. They watched Peter Sellers movies all weekend, and he talked about how funny George was! He said he and Sean are very close, and you could see his concern for Sean at the HOF ceremony. The four Beatles were 'lightning in a bottle', and there will never be 4 close group members like that again! ( Ringo IS cute!)
George Martin produced Peter Sellers comedy records, and The Beatles had listened to those records before they knew George Martin. They had a positive feeling about Martin because of the Sellers records.

As soon as the Hard Day's Night footage appears here I felt launched back to a time before Problems, it's such a jubilant feeling that film and those songs evoke. RIP George.

Can't wait to have the time to sit and binge the new Get Back documentary my wife got me for Christmas because she finally new about something I really wanted and I wouldn't buy it for myself. Nobody has ever seen this side of The Beatles! Coming into the studio sitting down and playing, singing whatever idea one had been rolling around in his head and then bouncing it off the other 3 lads and every one of those young men brought their contributions and bounced whatever parts they had thought up and it's happening for the first time! Were actually watching those songs being formed for the first time. IDK, maybe I'm fanboying but that seems super interesting to me

Ringo and McCartney have expressed surprise, in retrospect, to see themselves still having fun in those Get Back sessions. It made them re-remember that time quite differently.
In the early 70's their relationships were portrayed in the media as jealous, angry and bitter. But it really wasn't that bad. As we all know, they primarily had a disagreement about business, which was later resolved. Although yes, George was stifled in the group and wanted to do more of his own songs rather than 2 per album. In 72-73 Lennon was portrayed in the mass media as hating McCartney. I just watched a Lennon interview from that time in which he described Maca as 'my best friend', that he and Yoko had Paul over for dinner that week. That alleged animosity was really manufactured in the media, notably by Rolling Stone's hit piece on McCartney. The media, and fans, wanted someone to blame for the parting of ways. The Fabs themselves often said that families have fights and get past it. There was simply too much pressure on these men in their 20's. They made the sane decision and got past it.
Peter Jackson has done fans a great service by, I believe, a proper portrayal of those last sessions.

Paul and George's relationship continued to be strained for most of the remaining years after this 1988 interview, and was really tense during and after the Beatles Anthology project. It took the cancer diagnoses of Linda McCartney and Harrison himself in 1996-1997 to really bring the men closer again.
As the alliances worked out. Paul and John were hanging together. and George and Ringo were hanging together. toward the end of the Beatles.

John and George were very different from Paul and Ringo.
There was also a bit of a sharp edge to George's humor in the interviews given for the Anthology, and you can see Paul just sort of letting it roll off of his back. But it was certainly palpable.

I was a teenager in 1964 when they came to America. The Beatles were soooo popular but they began to fade at the end of the 1960's as their music radically changed and then the breakup!

I’ve been watching these dudes ever since they got off the plane liked some of their music not all of it. I think Ringo had the best attitude just keep laughing all the way to the bank. Maybe that’s why he’s still living and looks younger than his age.
The Beatles position in time in civilization is colossal. Just how big of a footprint the four of them have is unexplainable. To be sure there are certain events that shaped society on a global scale. The automobile, nuclear fusion, the computer etc. And the Beatles.
I feel for all four of the band
. The famous line up John Paul George and Ringo were only together as a band for 8 years and have since spent the remainder of their lives being asked about their time together and if they were ever gonna reform.. They grew up.. They all had singing and songwriting abilities and it came to the time to choose their own paths in life and persue what they felt inside and what they could contribute to the music industry.. George was stifled in the band by John and Paul.. Mostly Paul from what I gather and Ringo was happy to keep the peace and go along with it all.. Leave them alone surely they have deserved that right?

I don’t know what it was with George, when he wrote the song ‘Wah wah” I thought he was talking about himself. When he gave an interview after being attacked in his home and his wife helped to save him, all he could say after is that there really wasn’t much to keep him to this earth, well perhaps his son? I thought, what about your wife who saved your life? I found that strange. He was always cheating, did he simply not value women? I am asking because I don’t get that.
The Beatles should have done a limited re-united tour with Julian Lennon, taking his Dad's place because Julian is the spitting image of John. Same with Led Zeppelin, using John Bonham's son on drums.
I'd heard maybe 35 years ago, CBS offered the Beatles $100 million to reunite on The Letterman show, with Julian.

I find it quite odd about Paul how he kept fighting about royalties with his band mates to the point where their friendship almost got destroyed, and few years down the road he let some model squeeze 50 mio. out of him

Certainly, only John output compares, in that period, with happiness is a warm gun, Glass onion, I want you, she's so Heavy, come together, don't let me down, Because, Hey bulldog, The ballad of John and Yoko, Crybaby cry and revolution". McCartney was just commercial in that period, not groundbreaking or Original, except for "I've got a feeling", "oh darling Helter-skelter and Lady Madonna", which are great masterpieces. "Let it be, long and Winding Road, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, and Golden slumbers" are soppy, sentimental, banal stuff, which was saved by and are easy on the ear, Due to McCartney's angelic ballad voice/vocal. They are prominent when you 1st listen to the Beatles, but as soon as You become a mature listener, you realise that "Something, while my guitar gently weeps, old Brown Shoe, Here comes the sun and Within you/Without you" are much more mature and artistic songs than those shallow, self-indulgent songs
In the early years no doubt. Hard to hold that against them when their songwriting partnership was the primary reason why they became so successful.

Paul & John wrote songs that appeased the mind (which is great) George wrote songs that touched the Soul .

Amazing to think there was a brief time when U2 were being tipped to become almost as big as The Beatles. They must have been blind to how foolish that was, considering that there will so obviously never be a phenomenon like The Beatles again, and that U2 were not even the biggest band of their own time.
