- How to Create a CUSTOM Gmail Signature with Clickable Links & Animated Profile GIF
In today's video tutorial, I will be showing you how to create a custom Gmail signature with clickable links (ie. social media icons) using Canva (PRO) and also how to insert an animated profile gif into your email signature.
This is a 3 step process: 1) I am going to show you how to design the graphics in Canva, 2) I am going to show you how to create the gif animation using a third-party gif-making website, 3) I am going to show you how to format the signature using a google document to then insert into your Gmail signature settings and as a bonus, within the tutorial I am going to show you how to add your own clickable social media icon links. Love this! Btw an easy trick in Google Docs is to copy the first icon you ad, then right-click and select *replace image*. You can then upload the next image in the same size as the previous one, so you don't have to resize each one. :D

Hi Gerri-Ann, that is a very good question. I am not sure if you can hyperlink a GIF on an gmail signature as I have never tried it. Perhaps it is the same method when you hyperlink the social media icons on the google doc but I could be wrong.

Hello, great question - you should be able to format the signature on a single line on a Google document and paste it directly into your gmail settings.

Unfortunately we can’t add custom email signatures to mobile - gmail mobile version only allows for text.

Great video! Unfortunately for me I was able to do it all but when I placed it on the email signature only show the text and empty squares. Tested it and no signature appears, even tho signature is check for new email & reply.
Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that you are having this problem. Does the gif animation show up when you format the signature in the google document before copying and pasting it into the gmail signature settings?
@@LaressaNgoeun no, only show an empty squares dor all the icons. The links for the icons works but pictures didn't display on the signature just squares. I'm probably doing something wrong but I will try again some other time. Love the video and thank you for taking the time.
Hi Laressa, This would be so awesome it I didn't get a message from Gmail saying - The signature is too long. Please try a shorter signature. Any suggestions? I can see everything in the signature block working the way it's supposed to. So odd!
Hi Dawna, sometimes Gmail can be a little finicky. You will most likely need to play around with the size of the images you are downloading from Canva and or play around with the size of the table in Google docs before copying over the signature to gmail settings. And if possible reduce the number of characters or words in your signature. I hope this helps Dawna!

Hy, , In the signature i see the gif and everything but when i send the e-mail is empty, only the text from the second column is showing. Thanks
Sorry I only use gmail settings for my outgoing emails.

How to do using mobile phone?
Don’t quote me on this but from my understanding, there isn’t a way to program a custom signature on mobile gmail app.
However, I noticed now that because I use the same gmail account on desktop and on the mobile app, because I’ve already created my custom signature on desktop, the mobile app will use that custom signature. I’m not sure if that is the same for everyone though - I didn’t use any special settings on the Gmail app.
