When I was young my siblings 5 at the time went to see the cat lady, she put a kitten in all of our arms and sent us on our way. When my Mum saw us standing at her door saying" Look, Mumma Kitties ,😳" She sent us right back to return our fuzzy gifts! JO JO
When we were kids we used to go what we called cat hunting . We would buy a big bag of cat food and feed them on my friends back porch .I remember one time my friends mom went to her back door and there had to be 20 cats on her porch.
Glad you are all buttoned up for the winter months. Glad your chickens have the nice bedding and same for the cattle. Nice you had the big order for the yellow potatoes. All wonderful.
Working with family and on your own land is always better than going to a warehouse or office job. Your family works hard together and it’s a blessing to feed so many people thank you 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you very much veggies boy you have a really relaxing show better than anything on regular TV Keep up the good work I'm trying to come on every day Google video God bless you all
You are one of my top favorite channels to watch. I love how your farm is a family affair. From Callie to Grammy. I also love how nothing is wasted. All those veggies that cannot be sold for the livestock is so good for them. We raise Silkie chickens and Ameraucana chickens. We give them all of our leftovers.
The corn stalk bales seem such an obvious solution….why didn’t I think of it…. Nothing more satisfying than putting in fresh bedding for your animals. Hubby loved seeing our horses settle down in a new bed. 🥰
God bless American farmers, ranchers❤❤. Most people don’t know a thing about “ from field to table”. The Veggie Boys make it look easy, but it’s HARD WORK! Love this channel!
Hi Ms Callie, how are you doing today? Thanksgiving time in nearly at hand with so much good food and pies and all the fixing. Maybe you could ask Pop Pop to teach you The Veggie Boys' Turkey dance so your dad could record a video as a memory for all the ages! Think of all those fine potatoes that could become part of a Turkey Day Dance!! Please stay warm in that colder wind! -Bob...
Great video Andrew. Hard to believe the season is over! You all deserve a rest! Even if the vegetables are done you still have the cattle to take care of! Your family made sure you have a steady income, coming in! So much has occurred in your family wedding, twin babies! Have a good winter season, friends!😊
We are enjoying the potatoes I picked up a couple weeks. Really enjoyed meeting Grammy hope she is enjoying the syrup. Happy Thanksgiving to the Ochs family.
I love that you work so hard to keep your animals safe and comfortable. Just wondering, how do you keep the barn cats from using the sawdust as a bathroom???
Love watching you guys working together and getting closed up for the winter it’s great how you all work together god bless all of you and the animals 🙏🙏🙏😉😉😉👍👍👍
Because of the cold wind blowing in on them you could drop plastic down from the on the outside that would cover them but you don't have to tie it down and you could do it on the other side as well leaving an airspace for them to get fresh air in but not be cold as it is
Yeah, but their production slows down. They aren't getting enough eggs to justify the cost. For them, it makes more sense to sell the chickens and get a new batch.
Looks like miss Kaley is ready for the cold weather 😊 have you got your heater all cleaned out and ready to go ? I love the smell of seasoned wood makes me hungry 😁 yum yum 😋
Andrew….. we keep deep bedding in our chicken coop and our hens pull the bedding out of the nest boxes as soon as we put more in. They just like to scratch that stuff around!
You mentioned your older layers will be going to auction because of the cost factor. On average, how long do you keep your chickens around until they get to that point?
How about some ducks and some geese?? And I want some large shallots! Put some diatom earth in the nesting boxes, no more bugs. Get it at the pet fish store-its cheap!
Google says,,The name Ochs is a German surname that means "ox". It may have originated as a nickname for someone who was strong or lumbering, or as a metonymic occupational name for someone who drove or tended oxen.
It seems like your younger chickens have more light in their coop. I wonder if the darker coop that the older girls are in is factoring into their decreased production. I know that it's generally accepted that production falls off after 2-3 years, but it seems like you are needing to turn them over faster than that.
“Used to grow rocks before we got a rock picker” 😂🤣
Been waiting to see the hens get new bedding...they deserve the best.
Wait till all 3 kids take home cats, Lauren will be thrilled.

I like the orange kitty in the calfateria
Your work you put into this is so clear!
Such good information for us wannabe farmers. Thanks for all you all do.
I was JUST thinking, looks like the egg ladies could use some straw, and I guess you thought so too! I’m too invested in this farm. ❤
I think Callie is right that you should take Screech home!
I bet the chickens would really like some of that corn stalk bedding
Working with family and on your own land is always better than going to a warehouse or office job. Your family works hard together and it’s a blessing to feed so many people thank you 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love watching all the things being done. Callie is so very sweet. A farm gal. Love it. ❤❤❤❤❤

Yea-barn cats!
Those chickens eat like royalty, they sure look healthy.🐔🐔🐔
That bobcat is the machine to have!!
Wow! Closing the green houses. Where did the time go. I’m looking forward to when seed starting begins. 💗🙏
When you give the chickens potatoes, do they peck the eyes out?😏
Callie is the happiest 😂girl especially when she is with her boys in the farm 🥰😜

Thank you for the enjoyable video! I guess winter is coming. Than Spring will come soon after! lol
Thank you from The Netherlands
The corn stalk bales seem such an obvious solution….why didn’t I think of it….

The front of the store looks so empty without all of the pumpkins!! Look forward to your videos every time you post!
Wow, only 13 weeks. Sad to see the greenhouses empty. It sure went fast. Isn't it time to make sourcrout? Lol love watching that and horseradish too!
It sure goes quick!
God bless American farmers, ranchers❤❤. Most people don’t know a thing about “ from field to table”. The Veggie Boys make it look easy, but it’s HARD WORK! Love this channel!

Gooood Moooorning to ya all lol. Wanted to wish the Och family a Happy Thanksgiving.

Really enjoyed watching 👍👍
Lovely family. Greatest job ever❤❤❤
I get seconds to can. Better to have them cooked and ready to go, works great when the power goes out.
Hi. garlic is such a high margin item - curious why you do not grow/sell it?
I love that you work so hard to keep your animals safe and comfortable. Just wondering, how do you keep the barn cats from using the sawdust as a bathroom???
LOVE your family and your videos!!!
Cute kitty 😊
Yes?
It possible to use the sawdust for the nesting boxes? Boxes
Love watching you guys working together and getting closed up for the winter it’s great how you all work together god bless all of you and the animals 🙏🙏🙏😉😉😉👍👍👍
Excuse me miss do you have your forklift license? So cute❤
Sure do not envy you and all that cold weather.
Love Happy Hens and the Chickens loving the Straw!! The Corn fodder should work great for the cows!
Flock :)
I (herd) that 😂😂
@@billwilson1320
A herd of flock?
Andrew it is kind of sad watching you all close up the green houses. But I am already looking forward to next year when you start planting the seeds.
GOOD JOB
Because of the cold wind blowing in on them you could drop plastic down from the on the outside that would cover them but you don't have to tie it down and you could do it on the other side as well leaving an airspace for them to get fresh air in but not be cold as it is
Love watching ❤.
Yall deserve to sell all those noce looking potatoes!
Really surprised you need new chickens already. It was about a year ago and they are usually good for at least 2-3 years.
Andy: This is what it's gonna look like...
[looks like a cat]
Me: I am completely fine with that.
Here around Ann Arbor Michigan we are now getting snow😮. Looks like a dusting of it. Already missing the warm weather😢
Great video
I just love those barn cats and kittens.
Try some of your sawdust in the nest boxes.
They won't pull it out as bad.
Or get some woodchips a bag would fill quite a few nests.
Wow! That's a lot of eggs!!
The little yellow kitten was a cutie
Andrew….. we keep deep bedding in our chicken coop and our hens pull the bedding out of the nest boxes as soon as we put more in. They just like to scratch that stuff around!
I could be wrong, but by my count, 2 turkeys are "missing"
To the veggie boys and girls getting all calendar UP and getting ready FOR 2025. From Perth Australia 🐨🇭🇲.
What do those chicken's find to chat about? maybe "he's taking our eggs again"
Cakkie needs the cat, it will teach her responsibility
Old chickens make good soup!! ❤
You mentioned your older layers will be going to auction because of the cost factor. On average, how long do you keep your chickens around until they get to that point?
Hi Andrew. What do the chickens roost on?
Flurries in NW Illinois hey Andrew
Any salt blocks around??
Do you collect eggs more than once a day since there are often hens still in the nests and eggs would freeze in the winter?
Wheres the turkeys? 😢 😂
Question: Are you concerned that the chickens will lay eggs in the straw on the ground versus in their little cubby holes?
And it’s called chicken and rice soup lol
How about some ducks and some geese?? And I want some large shallots!
Put some diatom earth in the nesting boxes, no more bugs. Get it at the pet fish store-its cheap!
How are you and the babbies and Lauren doing?
How many cows do you sell in a year?
Do you blow out the water lines?
How many dozen eggs do you get per day
❤❤❤❤❤
Google says,,The name Ochs is a German surname that means "ox". It may have originated as a nickname for someone who was strong or lumbering, or as a metonymic occupational name for someone who drove or tended oxen.
Hang on a second, can I just pause the video at 19:16 and yell, "Look at that sky!"
Could you tarp the sides of that chicken pen to limit the drafts.
Something to consider for Kali. She needs ear plugs or some kind of ear protection for the equipment noise. A great Christmas present for her ❤
2 turkeys down?
Some garlic in the diet keeps them healthy!
Question, just curious just wanting to know do cows grow a winter coat like dogs too I know it’s a dumb question
Is there any particular reason why you couldn't donate any unsold potatoes to a local food bank/soup kitchen?
Yea! Only 13 weeks to germinations
😊😊😊😊😊
Just wondering…..what is the breed of your chickens?
Why don’t you produce poinsettias?
It seems like your younger chickens have more light in their coop. I wonder if the darker coop that the older girls are in is factoring into their decreased production. I know that it's generally accepted that production falls off after 2-3 years, but it seems like you are needing to turn them over faster than that.
Thanks for seeing the kitties. Do you feed the kitties any food. I can’t help to feel sorry for the turkeys.
In at least one earlier video, you can catch him putting down food. And sometimes you can catch sight of big bags of cat food with the other supplies.
Where the wall meets ceiling in chick pen 2 there's a long void where the wind is coming through
Excuse me sir that child is not OSHA certified
