@@mrodriguez21409 thank you. That was 6 of the 10 bags I had so there was a full ally more. Grow bags are pretty awesome specially for sweet potatoes that tend to grow far and deep when I’m the ground directly.
@@bFORCe2003 I have about 15 bags but I think I only dumped 6-7 in the video. In each 10 gallon grow bag I put two or three slips. I do give them a crew cut when they start to get to long. Good afternoon, so you dont cure your sweet potatoes? I agree also I had to have an emergency back fusion surgery and then caught SEPSIS in December 2022 . So I now use grow bags instead of in the ground . Alot better harvest and so much easier for someone at 59 in 3 weeks lol Plus my back . Then in November we plant our short day onions, which we harvest in April . We planted 335 sweet onions & red creole onions an ended up with 312 onions . We give alot to our older sons & family as they help us , but i still have alot and will be freezing them this weekend ,chopped up . New subscriber. @@jtharp9265 first. I am sorry you are going through so much pain. glad they caught the SEPSIS. This was 7 grow bags. I got 70 sweet potatoes. It was a super great harvest. I am 64 so I like to have raised beds and earth boxes. And the grow bags. I do wrap the vines back into the bags and then add any missing dirt and boom. They grow again. @whitewillow142 we have family in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and up near Tallahassee, Florida. We just were there in June . I always either get my onion starts from Dixondale farms here in Texas or Hoss tools from Georgia , Hoss has a channel on here , that's How I found them. They always send me extra onion starts and truly get amazing big onions from them. Dixondale also . Just to give you good advice on where we get ours and so worth it , as 1 sweet onion is costing $1.79 each these days . God bless you & be safe . Yes, water catchment is truly important right now , We have the water filter system and lots of water . And live on a lake. Watch your surroundings at all times , I was shocked visiting my aunt after only 1 yr. But it's getting like that here as well . Horrible just horrible Josette Texas 🙏 ❤️❤️
@@Soggybottomnz I added the video I did on slips. So easy and not deep at all. When I chop them or give them a crew cut when the vines get crazy, the vines can be placed on the dirt again with just a sprinkle of dirt on them to secure them, and they will grow!!
@@myretiredhobbiesgainesvill8140 these are just organic sweet potatoes from the local organic store that made some slips. So I just broke off the slips and stuck them in dirt. Super easy.
I grew sweet potatoes for the fist time this year in a raised bed. Harvesting was a mess. I stabbed a lot of them. Next year will be in containers. How long can you store them?
@@gsmscrazycanuck9814 I live in Florida so storing them is a bit more of a problem because we don’t have cool basements or low temperatures to keep them in the garage or something.
