    I can remember using the older stuff you mentioned. Messy stuff. Haven’t used this one but I bet it’s easier to some degree.

    I find these coverings also help deaden the sound in a room that may have a bit of an 'echo'

    I remember using it in the 70's Kotina I think it was called , thin polystyrene on a roll ! With the polystyrene tiles on the ceiling! Yikes what we're we thinking! lol

    THERE NO GETTING AWAY FROM IT. THIS DOES NOT CUT WITH NEAT SHARP EDGES.
    Tip for you based on your quote above. It does cut neat with sharp edges and can be trimmed to perfection if you hang it as a fragile 4mm thick polystyrene, non absorbent laminate and not try to hang it as a 0.35mm thick standard absorbent wallcovering that's 12 times thinner. A fragile 4mm polystyrene covering requires an entirely different hanging trimming and pasting method to one that is employed to hang standard thickness absorbent wallcoverings.

    Don’t know why you ended up in my feed. Weird. I do watch some UK people but not related to painting. Wall paper seems to still be so popular in the UK. not so much in the US. And insulated paper for those older heat inefficient brick or stucco homes seems very helpful indeed. But the biggest takeaway here is how much you look like Ricky Gervais…Wow!

    Morning Phil, glad I discovered this vlog, I never knew this stuff existed, I will definitely be getting a roll to do our little porch from our living room to the front door, is it possible to get a smaller tub of the adhesive as I wouldn't need anything as big as the tub you needed or is there an alternative glue I can use?. Are you doing another vlog finishing off that room with wallpaper?.
    Keep up the great vlogs
    Many thanks Steve H

      No more videos and no this room.
      There are plenty of videos I've done on lining with WallRock or reinforced lining paper.
      :)

    What’s the difference between this product and the wallrock thermal kv600? Is the quality similar as the price difference is quite big as they are both 4mm?

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  3 місяці тому

      About £100 a roll difference... But you do get more on a roll.
      If you read the spec you'd think very similar in what they do.
      The kv600 seems to be aimed more at keeping warms in. Than keeping the cold out.
      If that can make sense.

    In instructions it says if using with fireliner it is essential to apply with reinforced side facing the wall. Does it mean with grey side on view?

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  Місяць тому +1

      call it the paper side, not the way I hung it... which was the polystyrene side to the wall

    What about a lining paper that keeps temperature down in warm months?
    Im guessing any lining paper should do the trick?

    It’s very strange actually that we don’t have more customers asking for paper

      @@ProfessionalPainterDecorator there are paint additives you can buy that have so called ' insulating properties'. The jury is out on whether they work or not
