Great to see you guys again!...winter camping: no bugs, no people, incredible scenery and, as you mentioned, an indescribable aura. Thanks for posting! Tom
I really owe you a thank you for this video on two counts. First is I got a Silky Bigboy and finally got to use it for backpacking. Absolutely loved it. The second was the idea of building the fire on top of some bigger pieces of firewood to keep the initial fire off the snow and to make a nice bed of coals. We got a decent fire going even though everything started out pretty damp. Didn’t hurt to bring along some Montana pitch wood and some cedar kindling.
The Silky saws are great! With a fresh blade it really blasts through the wood! Funny about the fire trick... I learned it on youTube! Happy to be able to pass it on!
This has become one of my favorite channels on you tube. You have given me endless ideas on trails in my area. Love to meet you guys sometime. Have a great day neighbor 😊
i was surprised that u was not crowded by snowmobileers out scaring all the wild life . good 2 c u all doing ok and out again !!! no bugs and a gorge day !!! i can just picture drippings from melting snow off the trees lol. down the neck ..... brrrr 8( ATB, Tracy
Glad to see the first 2022 vid! Looks like Timber is similar to most of my dogs: Put a pack on him and he acts like he can barely walk...for 15 seconds...then they are off running.
Appreciate your videos, they're pretty cool. I like your dogs the best. Would love to see you guys do lake noseeum (lower/upper), it's south of Avery a little ways.
Thank you so much! Had to look up those lakes, but they look a like a possibility! There's quite bit for me to explore down south of Avery. Thanks for checking us out!
Love it! Always good to see your outings, especially after the winter dry spell. The drone footage is getting more impressive. Thanks for the snowy scenery. Closest I ever came to this experience was dogsledding in the Gallatin NF in December '08. On an outing like this, what time of day do you stop to set up camp and get the firewood laid in?
Usually when we're doing a winter trip like this we already know exactly where we are going and if there is wood near by. There is no guessing like we'll do once we start exploring in the warmer weather.
Are you a Madman? Why would you remove the protective plastic from that water purifier? Insane. You had a proper fire, friends and food. Steaks and asparagus yummm.

The first night snow fell on us all night. Second night was very quiet. Only saw 1 snowmobile the whole time!
Looks fun! Great video!

Love that place!
Super cool drone footage. Keep up the great work Travis. BTW...I didn't see any Buffalo's or Crows in camp?
Early in the year I like to enjoy a little Irish. The Crow will show up later. Thanks for checking it out, Brian!
