Settlers Grove to Bobtail Ridge | Panhandle National Forest, Idaho

We were back in the mountains close to home. We've had this route in mind for quite a while and we had even scouted out portions of the trail before. We were finally able to cross this one off of the list.
Settlers Grove of Ancient Cedars is a heavily used trail just north of Eagle, Idaho. The portion of the trail that is heavily used is only about 1.5 miles long, after that, it gets wild.
Our route took us over the whole Settlers Grove trail, then beyond up on the the ridge near to the Montana border. Then back down road 270 to trail #526 on Bobtail Ridge.
This was adventure the whole way. Snow, blow downs, missing trails and lightening kept us guessing.
