Skeleton soldiers are underrated. They are immortal...so long as they don't die while the boss is in the middle of a combo. Because the boss always loses aggro as soon as they go down, making it easy for them to get right back up and regain aggro
Thank you for creating and sharing this. I found the Mimic Tear to be a very effective tank. I would often make sure I had a shield and weapon equipped that dealt a damage type the target was weak against. I would also have Shabriri's Woe talisman equipped when I summoned it. I would often then swap out my weapon to an alternate damage type the target was weak against as well as Shabriri's Woe. When equipped with Shabriri's Woe, one's Mimic Tear Spirit Summon becomes an agro magnet, as long as one remembers to remove it from their character.
the mimic tear takes the cake if you rank on Endurance, Strength, Agro, Health, and Damage and are not limited to weapons. Mimic Tear will use everything you have equipped, off-hand and on-hand. I did a 1 hr video with all spirit summons soloing a boss on UA-cam.
Dung eater is probably the best outside of mimic tear. I did some tests with the enemies in the Mogwyn cave against the enemies that spawn in there and black knife Tiche and omen killer didn't do nearly as well as Dungeater.

I did some tests, at levels 30 60 90 120… I found that somewhere between levels 30 to 60 the mimic tear becomes the superior spirit ash, so if your running a low level build try something else out. I liked the blood hound knight at level 30 bleed build

For an Int / caster build I highly highly recommend Kaiden Mercenary for the early game and Omenkiller Rollo for late game / shadow realm! I still use Mimic Tear when I want to inflict scarlet rot or frost because the Mimic uses my frost spells and rot pots.
I know there are plenty of really good Spirit summons but I like seeing how my mimic tear uses my load out sometimes it surprises me and it’s always fun to see what it’ll come up with. Anyways that’s why I can’t stop using it
Heh. While watching this, I was wondering where Omenkiller and Dung Eater would place. Not disappointed, although I'd still say Mimic Tear is still in the top five. It obviously depends on your build though and how much you really want to micromanage it. If you're tired of having to swap things around so that you have the perfect Tear each time you summon it, the top three on this list are arguably better with one caveat. All of them require 100+ FP, while the Tear only requires HP, which is way easier to manage for most builds.
Ogha is a really good summon! I cosplayed as a Redmane Knight and together we avenged our lord when we let Malenia eat dirt. Better for boss fights since he patrols an area instead of following you around.
I’m a strength build and I use the Mimic Tear literally every big boss fight lol. It’s never failed me so far, it fights just like me and is way more aggressive. However, if I wasn’t using the Mimic Tear, I’d be using the Black Knife Tiche summon, that’s definitely the second best one behind the Mimic Tear. It’s super evasive and constantly dealing damage. Enemies health bars are literally always going down
Her teleporting keeps her in the fight for the duration, and for any foe who doesn't teleport frequently, she's all up in your chest with that spear attack. I definitely lust when she appears
Mimic tear isn't perfect. I've had to switch to the great shield guys for various bosses, because quantity can draw better agro against certain high impact attacks or prevent the enemy taking a ranged stance.
Mimic is by far the best summon and it's really not even close, assuming one has a decent build. The fact that mimic has unlimited FP means it can spam wave of gold, takers flame, dragon breaths, bloodboon ritual, night comets, healing spells, bubble perfumes, etc... in a way that no one should be able to spam that stuff. And having your inventory means unlimited healing as long as one has raw meat dumplings equipped, which is quite broken.
Are you saying that the mimic tear is even stronger for mage builds? I have no idea just started a week ago but I am a mage build so would be nice to know
@@monhi64 it kinda depends. On my mage I prefer to use a tank, the mimic kinda runs in and is pretty stupid, and if you’re a mage that’s not a good thing. Summons are more about synergy. If you’re melee or have an effect build (blood poison etc) the mimic is by far the best. If your playing mage go with dungeater late game, or luthel early game. The banished knights aren’t bad either.
I got Oleg before getting around to my Mimic Tear and I honestly think I preferred Oleg more. He's just that dude! I'll admit, I did notice his guard would always break like you mentioned.
As a mage, I have noticed my mimic draws a lot of aggro because of its ranged attacks. When the boss starts coming after me, wham! a Comet in the back will send him back to the mimic. OTOH, when I use a strong melee ash, frequently the boss disengages from the ash and goes after me, and the ash has some trouble re-engaging the boss's attention. Some ashes like knight Erdvall WALK to attack the boss...
There's no better summon than mimic. Only reason for your mimic to be worse than other summon it's because your build may disadvantage to boss u are fighting with. Like using bleed to a boss immune to bleed. But called a summon fire user and boss was weak to it. İ am 350lvl no summon is better than my 10+ mimic i have fire, thunder, holy, fate and bleed weapons equiped all the time. All I have to do is pick the right wapon for boss and summon mimic or pick the wapon as how i wish mimic to play. Nothing is better your mimic. This kind of videos are just click baiting. There's better defensive pics than mimic but nothing with more offence power of you already above 100 lvl.
@@SoulKingsss it is great for synergy if u know how to build up your synergy with it. Any other summon than mimic Thay can shine only if the situation fits perfectly to them. Overall mimic is the best I can get. Do you want it to tank just put a great shield two handled and summon it it will be your tank summon. But a great bow summon it you got your back support. İ have 90 fate 85 dex and 80 straight with one of the best armor set equiped. Nothing is a better choice than mimic. You can play with talismans to make it a boss magnet ass well but i just hate keep changing what i equip so even without it mimic is my best choice all the time. Only situation i pic something else is when i fight against deaths builders. And only 2 boss has that ability. i choose number over mimic only to them cuz either me or mimic can get instant death. İ am at my Ng+5 so you probably have much more expreince than i do. Am I wrong about how op mimic can be depends on your choose and it's just getting better and better with your power lvl?
@@grayjay6943 No yr right, once yr over level 100-150 mimic tear is objectively stronger than anything else. It simply has too much health. They nerfed it, nd its still wild tanky lol This video is not a serious one
yup i put in double-time on videos hoping they are entertaining (so im not like other boring ppl), while also needing solid info (so im not like other misinformation ppl) even tho this video is not very serious lol
Latenna absolutely owned the dragonskin boss in Nokron for me. I play without the HUD on so I didn't even realize how much she was hurting him. I was just starting to get his timing worrying about his long reach when he dropped. Engvall has been my go to though, with his brother a close second. The Wings of The Storm and I are beating the game.
I may add that any build can use a little faith with a proper incantation to heal yourself and your summons in one move, A girl has demonstrated that all bosses can be killed by the summon only while she just kept healing it and buffing it up. She only used blue flasks(13)
I like the mimic tear, I am aware of how summoning another NPC is OP. But some of your suggestions legitimately sound like fun. The greatshield skelly-boys are literally those tryhards in COD hiding behind their riot shields! The Headless Knight was easily my favorite choice that wasn’t mimic tear. But I’ll definitely give Omen Killer a chance!
In all seriousness, let's discuss what's actually great about mimic... the fact that he gets a copy of all your consumables. You cannot use Radiant Blessings or Marika's blessing because it's a one time only use item? Well, mimic can use it every fight, if its in the equipment slot. Same with bombs.. no crafting them, he gets a copy. Oh that one time healing item or that one time buff, or that thing that requires super rare materials to craft? Mimic gets a copy every fight. Want mimic to keep aggro? Equip the talisman to keep aggro, spawn mimic, unequip. Mimic will now get agro, he has a copy of the talisman. These kinds of shenanigans are what makes the mimic really great. If you just use him as a second damage dealer you're not yet making perfect use of him. Seriously though, "The bird" needs to be higher up the list.. that 20% buff that it gives you for free is amazing
gotta say using a spirit depending on play style was the right call here my guy. using 2 sep char build 1 dex, 1 str and maining the knights summons to see which banished pairs best. Engvall is storm stompin well with a berk Guts build, make pairings. if I see you mimic tear, I swear I'm gonna be as horrible as possible after.......(hard-swap mode engaged)
Sadly I don’t have enough fp for omen killer. But I’m surprised skeleton soldiers didn’t make the list. They do such a good job at distracting a boss. It’s like a tag team match because when they die it’s your turn to distract the boss while they come back to life and go for round two. They carried me through a lot.
I just dint understood the choice of Oleg. Engvall is much more efficient attack with halberd and his WIND art special attack seems STRONGER than Oleg. And he defends himself much more effectively...
I followed your recommandation and used Craystalin and she stood next the door holding her tire looking bored while I was fighting tooth and nail. Smh god bless the three dogs coming for my rescue ❤
You can only use mimic tear in a certain way, for instance start fight wearing the shabiris woe to make the boss concentrate of your spirit and then you take it off, you cannot do this with any other spirit.
Knight Finley! Buffs you with heals, throws destruction disc, has the holy spears that shoot out of the ground, uses a halo scythe and antspur rapier. Also has scarlet rot vomit. Also is a TANK
Stormhawk Deen is OP for an SL1 run because of the stat boosting and the low FP cost and her aggressiveness. Mimic is OP when you have a well build leveled character only. BKT is always the backup option, even in SL1 run, but that means that you need to use one of the two slots for the cerulian tear to have the mannna to call her as an ally.
The Marquette spirit is my go too. They shoot those arrows like crazy and allow you to get up close and person with the bosses. Distraction is the name of the game 😆
Headless knight is the coolest and the best, i mean she can throw some phantom spear and she's much more helpful than other spirit ashes i have, except mimic tears, only if i want to unch-unch with my self that'll be different, but that one headless knight, she's strong enough to help me, to defeat various foes in limgrave and all
As a heavy strength build nothing beats mimic tear. Takes all the agro, hits like a truck. Basically toss bosses back and forth between us. If it goes for me, hit hard by mimic. Goes for mimic hit hard by me. Its glorious.
Latenna's great at range - especially dragons. Dungeater is great - uses weapon art for medium range, and for sure Tiche for her ash of war. Mimic is great - what I really like about the mimic is that the mimic will heal without getting poison when equipping raw meat dumplings.
What you fail to realize is that mimic tear uses hp and not fp to summon which is perfect for low MND builds. Also, said builds usually deal very good poise damage so having the mimic tear would stance break any bosses easily.
I don't care what you say; the mimic tear takes the cake if you rank on Endurance, Strength, Agro, Health, and Damage and are not limited to weapons. Mimic Tear will use everything you have equipped, off-hand and on-hand. I did a 1 hr video with all spirit summons soloing a boss on youtube.
Overall the Mimic tear is the best. For most situations it will last longer and do more damage depending on the build but there are situations where others are just as good as better depending on play style and which boss you go against since weakness's and resistances are important. Its personal preference mostly. I like loading up my equipment with different weapons, seals and staffs and using mimic tear just to see what he choses to do. Its pretty funny when you are fighting and suddenly dragon rot breath is spewing everywhere.
Unfortunately the only summon that even remotely works against Malenia is properly decked Mimic. The others are just a source of health for her (ouch). That being said here are my best 5: 1) Crystalian (by a large margin) 2) Tiche 3) Stray - because it is hyper agressive, scarlet rot is just an added bonus 4) Skeleton Militia - tons of damage and they get up 5) Lucaria soldiers. Shielded guys are also good. Latenna is one of the worst if not the worst - she is not just immobile, she is extremely fragile as well. Bad combo. If only she could ride the wolf like the ones in consecrated snowfield...
I'm happy to see Dung Eater getting some love here. I think this ash suffers from its relative difficulty to get. You have to progress Dung Eaters questline almost to the very end but just before the end give it the potion, and I wonder if a lot of people miss out on it. Nevertheless, he is currently my number one with mimic tear a distant second.
I like more Oleg's twin brother: Banished knight Engvall. That dude is a beast. Never seen him staggered & like his twin he's always right in the face of any boss
My Mimic Tear on some of my builds is Far superior to any other Ash, and on others its outshined by BKT and a few others. It does depend on your build. The Ashes job is to take attention from you so you can get your big spells or big damage attacks off. Glass cannon/caster builds tend to suffer using Mimic Tear and Tankier builds it tends to shine. For instance The Mimic for my Strength Faith build can solo 80% of the bosses.
No love for Cleanrot Knight Finlay? He's pretty good as long as the enemy doesn't have holy resistance. But even then he applies Scarlet Rot, can deal damage with his weapons and iirc he can give you a buff too. A solid choice imo.
If you’re not engaged close range to the boss the mimic tear sucks because it isn’t really doing anything. Go in with a solid blood bleed build and with mimic bosses are done in under a minute
I can kit my Mimic Tear out as Melee DPS, Melee Tank, Cleric, DPS Cleric, Bowyer... And she uses those belt items. I could make her a mage, but I'd have to prep my spells for that.
And as if the point needed to be made stronger, now even the DLC bosses have all been soloed by carefully crafted mimic tears. Mimic tear isn't just the most powerful version of the ash summon. It is more a whole different tool of a more substantial power that happens to be mutually exclusive with ash summons.
Someone else told me the same about Mimic - my build is bad. Nah, Mimic Tear is trash - don't recommend especially during final boss fight. Thank you for this video!
Wow thanks... Being a creator that has an effect on viewers exactly like u just described is my number 1 goal dude. (For ppl to watch simply bcuz its entertaining.)
with a base of 9 on my stat and 82fp, i got stuck with the wolf, and they surprisingly did well till now, i just finished farum azula XD, short summon automatically dodge horizontal attack because of their height, i like that XD
I play a tank build with bleed damage. For messmer in particular, mimic lasts the longest and is thus the most useful. Other ashes in he DLC dont last long, not even the tailor.
You can stack crazy crazy bleed *with the mimic by having blood grease and a good bleed weapon, like the Bloodhound's Fang equipped with heavy armor. *Also, based on how you reply to comments and some of the nonsense you say makes me think there's something wrong with you.
@@alexkekesi8153 Just for fun, I like to occasionally use the regular Greatsword with Giant Hunt, because it knocks her on her ass lol. "Ooh, fancy moves there lady...now sit your ass DOWN!"
Mimic tear is S++. Does it get old using it? Sure. But even if your build is garbo, mimic tear is still the best for many reasons, but MAINLY BECAUSE, It uses your equipment...load your quick bar with rot pots or hefty pots and it throws them during combat. You are using a rot weapon? Put frost pots in quick bar. Using rot and frost? Put blood pots(swarm pots?not sure on name) utility alone trumps all other summons.
Here is a few problems with the mimic tear..........1st the mimic tear is not as useful as it was before it got nerfed to the ground by the devs.........2nd nowadays the mimic tear rarely draw the attention of the DLC bosses at all which made it useless in DLC boss fights...........3rd u can literally run in circles in a DLC boss fight n the mimic tear would run next to the boss n would not attack the DLC bosses at all
What’s up man. Question: I can only summon certain types of spirits. Like the wolfs and some other basic summon. But the others are crossed out when I equipped them, do you know if mind or intelligence matters?
Against the stronger Bosses with a highlevel char in ng+s mimic IS definately the strongest summon. But against weaker Bosses I Like to use different summons.

Clickbait yeah!
Well like I said, mimic isn't great for synergy. It merely copies you.
They nerfed it, nd its still wild tanky lol
This video is not a serious one
black knife tiche +10 >>> mimic easly. It'll absolutely drain enemies health it's crazy
@@mightguy3118 Might Guy is always correct
I love how you make your videos enjoyable to watch and get lot of knowledge because ur funny
yup i put in double-time on videos hoping they are entertaining (so im not like other boring ppl), while also needing solid info (so im not like other misinformation ppl)
even tho this video is not very serious lol
appreciate it you 👑
Latenna absolutely owned the dragonskin boss in Nokron for me.
I’ll never let go of the mimic tear. No Summoning Ashes can destroy like myself do.
Never really used spirits but I am now. A big Oleg fan. Started using Deenh for the buff. Tiche is a beast as well.
Mimic tear has a secret passive buff that increases your ego regen by 40%. The higher dmg the tear does the bigger the ego regen
Love the ranking. And the honorable mention for Stormhawk Deenh, cuz I'm gonna be using him for my NG+1 Gandalf build
I subscribed simply for the commentary. You're hilarious. Love it. LOL
Love to hear it thank you! 🙌
Your Meme is always numba one Dude xD. Any Recommendations for Sacred Spear build? I need lil Tanky while I'm casting the blood ritual
🔥🔥🔥 Thanks dude
And yeah, those greatshield guys! They are perfect for holding down aggro
I swear to god the images you use are always top tier
Naicee thanks. My faves in this video was the wheelchair gun pic and the "i eat poop" pic lmfaoo..
@@SoulKingsss Wrote this after seeing the wheelchair guy
Grab yourself a good ol' black knife tiche and let the easy mode begin.
I really hope there’s a couple more spirit summons in the dlc
The Marquette spirit is my go too. They shoot those arrows like crazy and allow you to get up close and person with the bosses. Distraction is the name of the game 😆
Headless knight is the coolest and the best, i mean she can throw some phantom spear and she's much more helpful than other spirit ashes i have, except mimic tears, only if i want to unch-unch with my self that'll be different, but that one headless knight, she's strong enough to help me, to defeat various foes in limgrave and all
My go-to girl!
My favorite Memory of my 1st playthrough. The 5 greatshield skeletons VS Malenia. I didn't even do anything her 1st phase.
Black Knife also has a big mana cost that always seems just outta where I want my stat spread w/ so many other great options.
I have failed to realize. Yes. Your wisdom and knowledge befits a king!
u failed to realize point of this video lmfao
lol breaking news!!!
@@SoulKingsssWait, so you agree with him then go back on your word immediately? Is there something wrong with you in the head?
This UA-camr is delusional.
Marinette Soldiers also proc dodge/Shield animations (when applicable) which is great for aggressive builds or builds with charged attacks.
bleed build tarnished with his mimic makes a double bleed. my second favourite is the maidens puppets they carried me through my first playthrough
Off topic, Im glad to see ppl still mention Chuck Norris 😆
I legit used the Rotten Stray ashes for so many bosses when I first started playing - the scarlet rot DoTs are just too good.
I love when you carry the fight meanwhile tiche is running circles around the boss doing fk all😂
I'm happy to see Dung Eater getting some love here. I think this ash suffers from its relative difficulty to get. You have to progress Dung Eaters questline almost to the very end but just before the end give it the potion, and I wonder if a lot of people miss out on it. Nevertheless, he is currently my number one with mimic tear a distant second.
Dung eater also my favourite, but he does feel a bit lost when the enemy flies, like Astel
Good job dude, keep going 🤜🏻
Latenna the Albinauric would like a word. If you keep agro off of her while playing a melee build, she destroys from a distance.
Mimic tear is only as good as you spec yourself
I don't agree with the rankings but you get a 👍 for making this video damn entertaining!
And Tiche could take down every other summons in this group
I dont even play the game anymore but i love your videos and your funny and creative commentary
Wow thanks... Being a creator that has an effect on viewers exactly like u just described is my number 1 goal dude. (For ppl to watch simply bcuz its entertaining.)
I'll work hard to make best videos possible for my ppl like you!💯🙏
@@SoulKingsss W mentality.
#Elden_King_to_1Mil hope to see it one day💪
Mimic tear and nothing compares. Especially if he copies a monster's attributes, dont expect your mimic to be better than how you actually are
Your too funny!!! Great video😂.. very creative!!!
Naiceee I appreciate you.
I'll keep working hard 💯
Thanks👑
with a base of 9 on my stat and 82fp, i got stuck with the wolf, and they surprisingly did well till now, i just finished farum azula XD, short summon automatically dodge horizontal attack because of their height, i like that XD
These are better if your character is low level
I play a tank build with bleed damage. For messmer in particular, mimic lasts the longest and is thus the most useful. Other ashes in he DLC dont last long, not even the tailor.
Only mage that needs other summons to protect their level 15 vigor
I use blasfimous blade and I used mimic tear and I DESTROYED malenia in under 30 seconds
loved the humor man, very good video thanks
i love this guys humor man
It's a hassle to upgrade the best stuff. Dungeater comes prepared and you just have to lay in damage while he debuffs and takes agro.
Omenkiller Rollo ON TOP 🔥🔥
He stun locked melania for me once
Billionaire playboy Rollo 🥸
Black knife tische dodges enemies very well and the red ranged attacks are ridiculously dangerous
Mimic,Tiche, and Dung Eater are my lifesavers
You can stack crazy crazy bleed *with the mimic by having blood grease and a good bleed weapon, like the Bloodhound's Fang equipped with heavy armor.
*Also, based on how you reply to comments and some of the nonsense you say makes me think there's something wrong with you.
I totally destroyed Malenia with my mimic, had rivers of blood and brutally bleed setup. First try, op damage.
@@alexkekesi8153 Just for fun, I like to occasionally use the regular Greatsword with Giant Hunt, because it knocks her on her ass lol. "Ooh, fancy moves there lady...now sit your ass DOWN!"
I beat the whole game and dlc with Rollo. He tanks, I cast spells with full int build. He’s reliable af
Marionette Soldiers are one of the best early game summons, got me trough several bosses
The mimic is the best no question I even would switch my weapons to another set after I summons to create that mismatch.
Level up your mind, because when its crossed out it means you dont have enough FP to summon, i discovered this today.
Yes, if you inspect the ashes, they will tell you how much FP they need to be summoned. Also, the mimic tear uses your HP to summon.
Against the stronger Bosses with a highlevel char in ng+s mimic IS definately the strongest summon. But against weaker Bosses I Like to use different summons.
Yeah, no other spirit ash is better than the mimic and it's not even close. Honorable mention to black knife tiche, she's pretty good.
When elden ring first came out mimic tear use to be good. now it watches me die
Rollo and titche are my favorites and the rotten dog helped me a ton at the beginning.
