I like how 1 guy wanted Megalovania in trombone champ and in doing so made a modding tool that is actually better than what the developers were using to make The game, and jumpstarted one of the greatest and most dedicated modding communities I’ve seen in a long time.
Hope we can get some official mod support sometime, it's not bothersome at the moment, but would be cool for like official steam modding just to make it even more accesible.

As someone who saw the livestream, I really love how RT cares about the experience and presentation of his streams. When I tell you that each one of these songs was an EVENT, I wish you could've been there to see the chat go BONKERS for each one of these songs.
Relatedly, I really appreciate that RT always gives credit to the creators of fan-made content he showcases and puts them under the spotlight. A lot of other streamers just pick out funny mods to have on their stream for the sake of entertainment value but never give a thought to the people behind them.

The biggest surprise of this stream wasn't that the modding community took off, nor even the quality of the content presented, but just that RT is so unexpectedly jacked at rhythm games.
I love how Dan was so concentrated on the final fantasy one that when there was dialogue he actually jumped from it. That kind of care and effort is what you should have when it comes to this game.
If games such as Minecraft or Friday Night Funkin’ prove anything, then it’s that mods alone can easily extend the life of a game significantly that it can even bring in more people than it did on release

Guitar Hero World Tour has a mod for it called "Definitive Edition" which brings the game up to modern system standards and allows for custom characters, songs, and venues to be made and installed for it.

Clone Hero will always be a discount GH to me, as it is without all the flair of Guitar Hero's virtual crowd, rockers, instruments, stages, fantastically tight setlists (we don't talk about GH5's song choices, or the mistake of putting a lostprophets song in GHWT), and ridiculous stories told through no-dialogue cutscenes, and overall art style and design. But, Clone Hero definitely has a wider library of songs to download, has less issues with songs randomly going in-and-out of sync mid-song (every Guitar Hero game has this problem across all platforms and there's no real fix for it as the problem isn't with the overall calibration), and much more streamlined design for ease of use while playing.

I really respect RT for taking modding as a concept seriously, and showing actually good examples of mods. Many people view mods as unbalanced or cheaty, which in some cases is true; but overall I think it’s really important for people to realize there’s good mods for literally every game out there. If there aren’t any good mods for a game, all it takes is one person to start a trend. And that’s what I love about modding. I honestly think it would be hella cool if RT went back to previous games he’s passionate about and like boosted the community like this. Obviously you get suggestions for playing games and shit daily so I’m not trying to be annoying I swear-
It's a bit past the original comment, but I laughed a bit to myself when RT said that Guitar Hero would've lasted longer if it had a mod community, especially since the original games did have a mod community, and that the community, upon the death of Guitar Hero as a series, went and made their own mod friendly version for PC that has a massive community that thrives to this day.
The trouble is that people _either:_ Are fucking awful at looking for mods , OR Think the game's developers are perfect gods incapable of making mistakes, and that if something changed at all, the magic is ruined entirely. In other words: People are stupid.
3:03 this is something that happens a lot when playing big orchestral music on the trombone, the trick is to coordinate with the other trombones so that you stagger your breathing, so that when you are breathing the other trombones are playing and vice versa.
The *BEST* thing any game can do is allow for customization, and this game is PERFECT for it. I personally like one winged angel. Edit: I wrote this before knowing RT would play it and I am SO HAPPY he did.
As someone who’s in a school band full of really good trombone players that I sit RIGHT NEXT TO this has convinced me that learning the actual trombone and playing the physical instrument is easier, and this entire video has been nothing but soul crushing, heartbreaking, and I have been hospitalized due to attempting to bust my own eardrums because that took less effort than any futile attempts at clicking different video.

I have played one winged Angel as a part of a full concert band. I’ve played it on a stage with a packed crowd. I’ve played it off of memory after forgetting my music. I’ve played it so sick both my ears and noise clogged and I couldn’t hear what I was doing. And I can confidently say… Trombone Champ is absolutely the best possible way to experience this song.
Have you not seen or heard about Clone Hero RT? It's exactly what you were talking about for guitar hero - thousands and thousands of custom songs. They've even got drums support now, it's absolutely crazy. All community made from the ground up, there's a huge community behind it.

There's so much amazing about the One Winged Angel track but I think beyond the obvious, my favorite part is how it lulls you into a false impression at the beginning - just the default tromboner in front of a jpg before zooming out and flawlessly transitioning to insanity via Sephiroth's longbone.

Guitar hero does actually have its own modding community built for PC, the game is called Clone Hero. It's basically like a guitar hero game engine built just for custom songs and it's really great there's loads of custom tracks out there for it. It's free too so check it out. You will need a compatible guitar hero controller tho

As a trombone player myself I'm glad to see so much interest in the instrument even if it is just in a game. I hope it will get at least one person interested in learning the actual trombone!

Going into this, I was hoping for One-Winged Angel. And I was not disappointed.
The modding community always pulls through, in the end!
There's so much amazing about the One Winged Angel track but I think beyond the obvious, my favorite part is how it lulls you into a false impression at the beginning - just the default tromboner in front of a jpg before zooming out and flawlessly transitioning to insanity via Sephiroth's longbone.

the long ass trombone was hilarious but as a trombone player i can’t help but think about how the hell you would play that because you would unlock like secret new notes or some shit by going further out

The Spiderman 2 pizza misic is actually *Funiculì, Funiculà*, a neapolitan song written by Luigi Denza about the new railway up mount vesuvius.
Guitar hero does actually have its own modding community built for PC, the game is called Clone Hero. It's basically like a guitar hero game engine built just for custom songs and it's really great there's loads of custom tracks out there for it. It's free too so check it out. You will need a compatible guitar hero controller tho
