That guy needs to listen to Mr. Regular and his friend..
You probably have the last least-modded/rusted-out 95 hatch on the planet.. with original rims.. KEEP IT STOCK. It will only go up in value..
If you want one to ruin with lowering springs and seats and all that crap, then find a cheap one on craigslist thats already been hacked apart.. Or at-least save all the original parts so that it can be converted back to 'original' as possible..
I would give you $3,000 dollars for this car, which is double its Kelly Blue book.. If you're ever on the west coast (WA,OR,CA) and want to get rid of it, hit me up.
Hercules Rockefeller not when you daily a 25yrs old accord. maintenance stuff needs to be changed
Couldn't he put what he wants on the car and keep the original parts, then put them back on when he goes to sell it?
Yeah, that's what I plan on doing with my 1st gen RX7. It's all original with only 55k, so I plan on just doing mods that are reversable.
Hercules Rockefeller that's what I'm doing with my 1st gen CR-V lol. I'm keeping mine bone stock and just fixing up everything that's old and worn out. And I'm trying to buy another one to mod and turn into an off-road toy
He can always reverse the mods if he wants to sell it.
I have a similar situation. I own a 91 accord coupe with approximately 77k miles. It's all stock with the exception of 15 inch alloys from another 91. If the owner is reading this, keep it stock.
You're lucky! And that car is that you will leave it alone :)
For the love of Soichiro, don't lower that Civic 🙏
"I want to rice my super rare Honda" (Paraphrasing)
Me:"Noooo! He's just a boy! only a few years away from becoming a a man! I won't let you rob him of his innocence! *pulls out Mitsubishi Eclipse* Take me instead... my time has passed, no one looks up to me anymore... just don't hurt the children!"
MrShirt Please, enough Eclipse murdering
I just now noticed that those 06-12(?) Eclipses are ghost.
You cant feel the VTEC because VTEC-E doesn't change the cam profile. It shuts off one of the intake valves to increase intake air velocity and turbulence which in turn allows a more homogeneous air/fuel mixture. The better mixture is what gives you the excellent efficiency since you can run a much higher air/fuel ratio.
of course at a certain rpm you run into intake volume issues, so at around 3k it operates like any other D-series non-vtec models, with all four valves operating as usual
The real sweet single-cam engine is the JDM Civic EK3 D15B 3-stage VTEC which combines the efficiency-oriented valve control of VTEC-E with the alternating cam profiles of traditional performance VTEC.
Oh, God, please not another lowered Civic. Especially a daily.
Lowered Civic's(not slammed) are perfect dailies.
The problem here is that this car is incredibly clean and low mileage, manual, great for collectors.
I have a 97 Civic coupe with 205k, lowered but not slammed, basically no other mods. It's still nice lol
I have a 97 EJ8 and I can't imagine lowering it. It already feels slammed compared to modern cars.
@@NoBrakes23 went to see a eg 1.5 with 90k and yeah the first thing i asked was, is it lowerd.... i took a look under and gueass what nope!! it had the oem books in the glovebox, oem hubcaps, verry clan wheel welds and full oem.... only it had an glas roof witch you could turn it open don; t know if its stock or not the roof
I've loved the 5th gen Civic since I've seen the first Fast and Furious as a Lil kid!
LETTY!
+*DrinkMoWater* DOM!!!
mijnnaamisaaron I been to that Restaurant on pch
So how was the tuna?
You and 80% of kids in America.
Where else can you get 1995 Honda Civic POV drive and literary commentary?
Ian McLeod I dont know
That was rhetorical. :)
Mechanical Injection is actually pretty good. 911 turbo engines ran fine with it, Mercedes, Volvo and many others. Most people back then and well into the 80's and 90's were just not used to that level of complexity and yearned for carburetion to make a return. Of course you cannot beat EFI/Engine management, but mechanical injection is really satisfying to get right and is a mechanical work of art if you can be bothered learning about it.
I am going to just say that I disagree. I have owned 4 cars with mechanical fuel injection. It's a nightmare a lot of the time after all of these years. 2 Volvo 240 Turbos, 2 Audi 4000's. One of the most depressing moments in my automotive ownership life was selling one of the 4000's because I had to move, only to find it in a salvage yard a few months later when I was back home. The guy that owned the yard said that it was sold to them because the engine was dead... nope... not dead. About 15 minutes of playing with it in the yard I had it running. I tried to hard to get the title back on that car by the dick that I sold it to would not work with me on that because "I sold him a lemon."...
well, the K-jetronics have been serving their cause for 30 years, now they're all shot to shit, and some parts cost like a small african country.
they're fine these days if you need a car for fun and tender loving care, because the car you have is an upside down bathtub made by vikings out of castum ironum that you adore (i agree, they're fabulous).
not when you need a workhorse for cheap.
and volvo or a merc are a volvo and a merc, but if you're talking volkswagen.... well... just forget it.
forget it like it never happened.
CIS/K-Jet is fine, for the first 100K/20 years-ish it's damn near bulletproof and works really, really well. Usually till someone decided to touch it. Mercedes left that system kicking and screaming in the early 90's(!) because it would not meet smog regs finally, not for performance or reliability issues. What you have when you hear people go "aarrrhhhh mechanical fuel injection blar blar blar blar" is people that bought cars that were 85% used up like the gentleman with the Volvo's and Audi's below(btdt), on top of the fuel these days and having as likely as not sat a long time between. It's also relatively expensive to get it back to working (I sell Porsche parts for a living, even those guys whine about it). But when it works, and it's not beyond it's service life, it's a beautiful system with some really freakin slick engineering and eons better than a carb. Also nobody has a clue how to work on it. Sure MS is better and LH/Motronic is easier to deal with, but that stuff craps out now too bout like CIS, it's just simpler to find parts to throw at it and "fix" it. Nobody used CIS because they "had" to. It was a good system, and frankly is over the head of most folks even today. I've daily'd half a dozen with such systems, after having new fuel pump(s), rebuilt WUR and fuel dizzys and injectors and having the airflow plate set right and the control pressure in spec, etc, etc, etc. Not a moments trouble and great performance. I've had LH/Motronic cars that got new injectors, fuel pump, repaired disintegrating injector harnesses, crank sensors, air meters, temp sensors, ECU's, etc, etc, etc. It's all relative. As always, people shit on what they don't understand and can't control(or afford) and that will likely never change. Knowledge is power.
Hondas have such a distinctive intake snarl.
I also had no idea these things had clamshell hatches.
he should get some 1994 prelude bucket seats. they r very supportive and look pretty stock
This kind of car makes me want to go to craigslist. This and a stock crx.
*chants* KEEP IT STOCK! KEEP IT STOCK!
2:36 The screen went black and my phone rang at the same time. Scared the living shit out of me.
LOL
I love blue moutain heading there this weekend
patiently waited for this video. Thank you.
The reason why it grinds when you go into reverse is because your reverse gear has no synchro, so you need to wait a few seconds for the flywheel to spin down before you put in reverse.
its the not the flywheel, its the gears inside the transmission. When you clutch in, the flywheel is disconnected and thus wont affect the gears. You wait to allow the reverse gears to slow close to the speed of the idle gear so it can slide.
TheDefectorUMP Ah yes, just misworded it. But the point being that you have to wait for everything to stop spinning.
"Mr. Regular politely discourages a young, misguided Civic owner from desecrating a time capsule"
I get way more excited Now a days when I see a old un molested hatch civic. I hope he does keep it as is for the most part.
Had '92 Prelude Si Seats in my 1994 Civic VX. Using the factory Prelude rails dropped the seats horribly. I'm 5'8" and in a normal driving position my eyes just barely cleared the steering wheel. But those seats were outstanding.
crazy seeing all these comments 4 years ago and i’m picking up a stock eg/eh hatch this week.
for the love of God, i hope he doesn't fucking ruin this by ricing it up.
keep it stock.
this review was so convincing, I want this car.
I dont think Vtec- E works the way you were expecting it to XD
8:05
I have a white 1992 VX that I bought brand new. Has 581,000 miles on it. It is on Honda High Mile Club website
Man. My dad got a 92 DX. Great little car. Became my sisters car after and then I had it for several months until a cellphone driver rear ended me so damn hard he flattened my front against an M3. RIP. Hard to find these cars in good condition anymore.
Oh that growl! I love it. It’s not too loud...
Very good observation about Shakespearian theatre. If you go and see a few plays every year at the new Globe, you quickly realise that originally they must have been performed for a loud, drunken, illiterate mob who had the attention span of young goldfish. The plot points are extremely laboured and often as not, the stage ends up littered with corpses. That's how you knew that the play had finished and it was time to go home.
1995 i wasn't even thinking about being born lol 😂😂
Interesting how there's no visible rust whatsoever on the body or fenders. It's next to impossible to preserve an older car up here in rust belt Michigan... Especially if you daily it. Hell, my 05 TSX has rust under the passenger doors already...major props to the original owner for preserving that thing.
The seats you want are Recaro LXs. They came with all sorts of cool retro fabrics and look OEM+. A good pair will run $800 shipped from mckgoodproduct on EBay. He's an importer that gets a lot of Recaros that were OEM in 80s and 90s JDM cars. if you can swing the $800 shipped, there's nothing nicer.
wheel gap is functional.
I wish I could get a car like this. But every old car that's still in good shape costs a fortune here.
Strict inspection laws suck.
I had an 04 civic ex coupe, several years ago. I love and miss that damn car, it was rear ended by a 19 year old girl who was busy playing with her phone and not paying attention to the road. My car was totaled and she broke her nose on the steering wheel of her car, because '72 VW Beetles don't have shoulder belts or air bags. I had to visit the chiropractor for nearly a year after my accident to get back to normal and it also cost me my job. Don't text and drive, it's a dumb thing to do...
I was wondering about those lower lateral links.... makes sense now why EVERY Civic has them, if they're cheaper than OE or aftermarket OE style links.
Wow, the sun visor is so cool.
DC2 INTEGRA SEATS FTW!!!
Why does the kid want to rice the civic out, you have a gem on your hands leave it alone.
I agree with regular. Leave it stock! I found a original 95 Dx hatch with 120k last year and sold it 2 weeks later for $4500 bucks! I had 3 in it
I like how you rolled through that STOP sign :)) THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!
"V-TEC didn't kick in, yooooo!". Had to say it.
"...So enjoy your drink and they spoil everything... and it's great literature. Ohhh. Toyota Echo.... not the good one"
Easily one of Mr. Regular's best ends to a great rant!
Del Sol seats are awesome and hold you snugly.
GET IN ME.
Change the front seats for the stock ones and you will get the proper clearance and the right space on the front seat. Keep it stock. If you want for any reason lower it, just get the Eibach 1.5 street (not the race sport) and you will keep the stock ride quality but a bit lower. Also Civic VX are the most rare civic's from the 90's and their value are going up. If you know what you have you are look in the area of $5K for a stock well maintain in great condition with A/C any day. Just have to be unmodified one.
I wish I could have let Mr. Regular drive my old civic rat ricer... Performance met personality in a perfect blend of self-deprecating humor and smiles per gallon.
"Don't lower your car. Don't modify your daily driver."
"I want to get my full 40 dollars worth on the after work special."
Who are you and what have you become.
*"Go to your ROOM."*
I'm joking, I'm only joking.
Im loving this hatch.
I wish mr regular could review my ford..
WHICH FERD IS BEST FERD
FERD MADE IN GERMANY IS THE BEST FERDDD
Mah ferd is best ferd because INVESTMENT
just caught this on Reddit. Subscribed.
That car is insanely good. I want one so bad for a winter car just to see how far I can make it run.
the dash reminds me of the nsx and gta 5
420apache657 it kindof reminds me of a Evo 8
interesting dash design, newer volvo v70s kind of used that look
I own one, a CX model with the even more simplified D15B8. The front wheel gap is way larger than the rear so these cars tend to look like the ass end is sagging like an old New Yorker or something on stock suspension
integra seats. they fit perfectly into that generation.
John Ma yes especially the gsr leather seat which I had on my ex civic coupe..
"The bro lean"
I'm very familiar with this unless I'm in an SUV or something. Short legs and a long upper body make for an awkward driving position in a lot of smaller cars. My driver seat in my Mazda is always leaned back at a rather dramatic angle just so I'm not brushing against the headliner.
SkuzzyJ I had to do that in my old 98 Lexus. fitting a 6' man into a small sedan ain't easy. Embarrassing when you're forced to do the "cool guy, bro lean" in a glorified Camry lol
“Im not gona go fast” stock civic with vtec-e 😂
Good Night Regular Car Guys
I officially want ONE! ASAP!
He needs seats from like a 1990 prelude. They fit
Survivour?! That's how old daily drivers are called?
yes, when was the last time you saw a not rotted old civic like that?
Alec Parkes The oldest Civics I've ever seen in person were 09/1995 Civics.
Now I think I made a huge mistake selling my old daily driver. :/
kilésengati I've seen some ef/da's at shows, and the generation before that of crx/civic only twice in person, but not stock. Tasteful and clean but not stock. It's rare to see
Alec Parkes Where I live there are not alot of petrolheads. Cars older than twenty years are awfully rare here.
kilésengati ours just rust away. Northern Ontario, Canada
Even my 2013 Accord has to be shifted into 1st to get into reverse. Lol
Hopefully there rust prevention done on this car like oiling or whatever is good for that.
I can not find a Toyota Echo for sale anywhere!
Timothy Griffaton Ton up here in Canada
Autotrader/ Craigslists yields several for PA/MD/VA/DE area
PpRZman 2d?
A lot of them, 4 door is much better...
I totally regret not keeping my CRX stock.
TFW when you find out you're the exact same age as Mr. Regular
you should make a mk3 supra review
That car is so clean. Don't modify it!
+RegularCars PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT AN OLDER LUXURY SUV SUCH AS A QX4?...POSSIBLY..
Mr. Regular, you've done WRX's before but would you want to review a bone stock '03 with 30K miles on it?
Missing a roll of duct tape.
Keksi the Labrador one hand taped to the wheel.....
Since living in California since 2008, Its been years since I've knocked the snow off the boots before putting my feet inside the car, Not sure I Miss the snow, but…Does this somehow prevent floorboard rust,? Very polite to knock the snow off your boots when a guest in another man's car, it's a very midwestern thing too…A kind of aggressive politeness or mindfulness…Too much time to think in the dead of winter, leads to advanced diplomacy somehow
Mr regular can you re-visit a more modern P71?
Finally i know it's called "bro lean" in the US
3:18 in my conutry (Europe, Lithuania) you are required by a traffic law to stop before crossing railroad tracks
Tomas Morkūnas ok
No such requirement exists in the US unless you're in a vehicle that has regulations requiring you to do so, such as a schoolbus.
can you please make a video about a vw golf 3 ? i have a golf 3 from 1995 . i would like to see a video about it .
funny thing i have a bone stock 92 cx hatch
Review a 6th gen civic hatch!
This is the Honda I respect, you Honda boys should learn that you don't need a fart can from hell and a stupid ass body kit to make your car noticed. I'd notice this thing first if it were grouped with 100 farters.
can you do a review on the chevy colorado or gmc canyon
Ford Festiva? DID YOU MEAN THE STEVE?
🤔How about that 1997-2001 Honda CR-V video👌😎👍
Plz review a Nissan B12 :)
hi
Scirocco's Rule!
I had a stock 91 Civic which I wound up selling as it was an automatic and I could only afford to have one daily, so instead I now have a sick 99 Civic. The EH is so much more EK than it is EF.
Sadly, the radio isn't stock in my Civic, but what can you do when you buy used?
Negil Leufeln Unfortunately radio's are the first thing to get replaced by any jobbo who gets hold of the car.
Sflot Yeah... what I don't get is the after market stereo in my Civic doesn't even have an aux port or anything, it's just a CD player. The stock stereo could play CDs.
Oh well, can't complain, easier to replace a stereo than a frame.
kool
neat
Sensational..
thelegend 27 riveting
thelegend 27 superb.
Impeccable
What is the value of one of these (50k miles)?
Can I recommend a classic: Mercedes Benz sl320 sl r129
dont modify ur daily lol my golf is slammed on coilovers with big ass rims with low profile tires and i drive it everyday and never complained, i dont understand why people say u shouldnt modify ur daily most of us younger people cant afford 2 cars
Do they salt the roads in PA? ... Brine? ... Beet juice?
Acid honesty.
They sure do. It's calcium chloride in here according to what I've heard. I sprayed Fluid Film on the underside and in the rockers of my Suburban hoping it won't rust.
Sebixy sie w dresach przewracajo...
how tall are you Reg?
everyone builds different things. let him fuck his car up. lol
God I want this car. Vx just does not exist
Low low low low low lo low low la low low low!
I’d like to buy your car: how much?
Mr Regular talking about Shakespeare... I'm so triggered now. RAEYCSICSIISIST!@!!!111
