TLDR: Microsoft Publisher can be used to easily create professional newsletters by adjusting margins, adding column guides, and managing text boxes and shapes. 00:00 📝 Create a letter-sized newsletter in Microsoft Publisher by adjusting margins, adding column guides, and placing horizontal guides for the nameplate or first page title. 01:34 📰 Use Publisher to create a nameplate with an image and text box, and resize the text to fit the space. 03:01 📝 Decrease point size and change text color to make it visible, use word art styles to adjust fill and outline, and resize and reposition text boxes to fix font cutting off. 04:31 💡 Match text color to logo by using the eyedropper tool in format under text box tools, then reposition text boxes as needed. 05:11 📰 Adjust text and columns in Microsoft Publisher to create a newsletter with headlines and stories. 06:02 📝 Adjust text formatting and spacing in Microsoft Publisher to create a newsletter style, and pay attention to margins and picture placeholders. 07:34 💡 Click the picture placeholder to position and adjust, browse for an image or use existing ones, add a border and adjust its weight under picture tools. 08:25 📰 Use Microsoft Publisher to create professional newsletters by easily managing pages, text boxes, and shapes.
Great explanation! But please, how can we send this? I use Microsoft Outlook, and I couldn't send it correctly. I need to send this (similiar as you created in the video) in message (but not in JPEG). If someone knows please share.
+Marcelo Augusto dos Santos I am having same problem. I made a newsletter in Publisher 2010. I want to send it through email but not as an attachment. When I send the file so that it appears in the text of email, the images, shapes, design is distorted. Need help please
+Subir Nigam I got it! Once you're done creating your newsletter, you can send it as HTML e-mail. You must have a valid e-mail account working in your Microsoft Outlook. Follow the steps: 1. In Publisher, go to file > options 2. click in Save and Send and then you can click in "view e-mail" so you can open your newsletter in a browser to see if it looks well in a browser (that's the exactly way it will be sent) 3. If your newsletter is ok and done, you can click in File > Options > Save and Send > Send by e-mail > Send current page or All pages (it's up to you). You can send to yourself as a test. I hope you can understand me. The buttons names is different because my Microsoft Office is in Brazilian Portuguese, so I tried to translate.
I am trying to create a homemade newspaper/newsletter with several interesting articles with images. About 15 pages long. Could I use Publisher for this?
This is great for doing a physical newsletter on paper to be sent......but what we all want is to be able to create and send an email newsletter or marketing info. Publisher does have templates for these. i've tried them but they're not getting through the way i designed them and yet the Design Checker says there are no problems.
+Paul Hartley Are you having problems to send it? If you have a valid e-mail account in Outlook you can send it by Publisher too, as a HTML e-mail message.
+Marcelo Augusto dos Santos Hi. Yes, I've been struggling for weeks. I'm working in office 2016 so I'm up to date with the applications. The problem is that most email applications have their own characteristics and so if the image is embedded in the email, it doesn't always display properly. As you will see in most emails there is an option to display the email as a web page. I've tried this too, I've created a web page that looks great in the browser but when it's sent as an email, the formatting is all over the place. So the Publisher page as HTML works but it has limitations. I would imagine if it was really easy to create quality newsletter emails in Publisher then a lot of email companies would lose business. I think if it's sent by Outlook then it will be received ok in Outlook.
The problem is that Publisher seems to convert the email into a large image file and so the definition and detail are lost. Unless you know a way to overcome this so the appearance is clear. Thanks
Publisher 2016 wouldn't make a PDF from my 4-page program. I found a tip online that said that can happen; try printing to a PDF (regular print dialog but choose PDF instead of a printer). That works very well.
Thank you, Thomas, for showing the jump text. Your instruction is help, and clear.
I fully agree with Rachel. This is succinct. There are a lot of clever shortcuts in here. This is the jumpstart I have been looking for.
