I appreciate your content. Social media can be dangerous. I’ve taken breaks from all of it before and have always felt so much better. I’ll never forget the year 2020 when I moved to New Hampshire, USA. I barely knew anybody and the world had “shut down” shortly after I moved. My phone decided it was time to stop working. I was without a phone for a week. No internet. No TV. I was unfamiliar with the area. The only connection I had was when I could email my family while at work. It was a challenge. But, my devotions lasted longer, I took longer walks, I went to bed at a decent time, I was able to put mindfulness into practice. I was more confident talking to strangers - because I had no idea where to go half the time 😅. It definitely felt like God pressed the restart button on my life. A wake up call to be sure
What an encouraging video! It's so uplifting to watch creators being open about their struggles. I love the 'tool' analogy you use--it's scary, as technology advances and internet resources abound, the negative effect they can have on the people they're supposed to serve. I'm so happy to hear the positive impact leaving these socials has had for you! Thank you, as always, for your insight. God bless!
Well said, it's been a way for me to feel as though I'm connected because I'm often feel lonely. But ripping the bandaid makes me see its not the most nourishing way to connect. Rather face to face. Thanks for this video.
Hey Lydia, you are right about social media. I deleted my TikTok, Twitter and Snapchat accounts because it was becoming an addiction for me and also overwhelming. I am better off without them. Although I still have Facebook and Instagram, I only go on there for a little bit like a few minutes per day.
@@lydiahoughton Yeah, I'm honestly happy with the socials I have being FB, IG and UA-cam. They are my primary accounts. Have plans to make video content again soon! ☺
Loved this Lydia! I recently took time off social media and it really helped me reconnect with my faith after a period of being social media obsessed! X

Thanks for sharing! It's refreshing and encouraging to meet someone for whom some social medias work for them, and some don't!
