Yes!! We haven’t had social media for 2 years and I feel like I can hear my own thoughts again! With 5 kids growing up way too fast I was so convicted about social media. For one month I kept track of how I felt each day after being on Fb. There was only one day out of 30 that I felt better after being on it. I love this message of slowing down, being fully present, feeling alive again! Thanks for sharing and for spreading this message in love :)
No social media has been a game changer! I get on UA-cam or the internet as I want to look something up, but haven’t been on Instagram or Facebook or anything since December and it’s such a breath of fresh air!
I’ve been completely OFF of social media for almost 4 months and the only CON Ive noticed is now I am hyper aware of everyone else’s excessive phone use 😂 I finally don’t have that addict tick to check my phone. I feel free!
Recently found your channel and I'm inspired by your values and your family's slow living. I'm also a follower of Jesus and a mom to a toddler. I've been slowly minimizing all the stuff we have but still have a long way that I'd like to go until I feel at peace with what we have. I also have been feeling a need to reduce the amount of screen time/time on my phone lately. I've noticed my toddler noticing me on my phone a lot and that is the biggest reason I feel the need to put down my phone and leave it in another room. If I don't want my toddler being addicted to screens, it has to start with me first. I really look forward to watching more of your content!
Talk about perfect timing! I felt God nudging me this morning to detox from social media and then I saw your upload. Confirmation! I do believe most of my social media viewing is a habit and what I really value from it is the self-improvement videos. Thanks Madisun! Love your content and your heart!
I deactivated my Instagram at the beginning of the month and I’m aiming for a year to see how I feel. I love definitely realized just how much I was being influenced or even dealing with the not enoughs because of people on social media! It’s crazy 🤪😅 but definitely do freeing
What you said about opening your phone and wondering what am I even doing…..so true! This was a great video and really appreciated the addition of the remember when…..before all the screens. I’m down to only FB as the only social media I have and really would love to try to give it up as I can tell when I’ve had too much just by my mood! It’s addictive for sure! Would love to have a video of maybe a list of things in your life you felt you did more of during the time of giving up social media. Did you read a lot, cook etc…. Thanks again for being such a sound voice of reason and light for your faith in such a complicated and dark world. Blessings to you and your family.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I’ve realized over the last few months how addictive I am to scrolling even though I don’t see anything new or important! I go back to the saying “if the devil can’t make you bad, then he will make you busy!” I’ve been convicted of this and am going to delete them off my phone and start Lent early giving social media up and gaining more time in my Bible! Thank you!!
I've been Facebook and instragram free for a month. And its the best decision I have made. I won't be going back, I spend more time with my family and am actually present with them which is my main focus. I still go on you tube but I've been alot more selective of Who I watch ( of course yours made the cut lol )
I appreciate this video 🙏 I left IG 4.5 years ago (2017) and just in the past few weeks created a new account and began posting from a pure, intentional, and authentic place. I also left FB in 2017 and stopped posting - removed approximately 4,000 “friends” - and will return there with new intentions when the time is right as well.
Totally agree! I didn't open instagram since jan 2022 when my phone suddenly broken. When I have new phone, I don't think I need ig anymore. I turn to see youtube and find your channel. Thank you so much for inspiring to live a meaningful life 😍.
Thanks! I’m off Insta since June and I love having less input and ads! I’m still on FB, but wanting to delete my account soon. ☺️ thanks for sharing your experiences. 🥰
Love this video! It’s so cool that your a Christian and your not ashamed to talk about it! I have been binge watching all of your videos. So glad I found your channel!
Omg I’m going on year off social media this month! I thought I was the only one 😅 sooooo refreshing to hear your input on it and affirmation. What have you loved or not loved about UA-cam?
I also deleted my social media insta snap fb account around 2 month also still not installed on my phone i love the 90s life no social media that much and we live soo minimal
It’s amazing how the subliminal can be so sneaky! I totally get those one to two second checks of just walking by your phone and going what?! Hahaha! Love this update!
Great video! I do comedy and have a UA-cam channel so I feel compelled to be on social media a lot but realize I only have to use it as a tool. I read digital minimalism to it’s a great book!
I love looking at nice pictures or reels on instagram. I love the content creators that I grew "close" with over the years. I really dont like the New Algorithm though, it shows me stupid, violent or just uninteresting content multiple times a day. I am thinking about switching to pinterest to cut down my consuming of content that I dont like
I just found your channel and I am so thankful God brought you across my path. ❤️ the way you are living is so inspiring, I was wondering what podcasts you do listen to when you do listen to podcast?
Hey Amanda! Thanks for the support! Great question: I am currently subscribed to Daily Audio Bible, Farmhouse On Boone, Unruffled, The Minimalists and Minimal Mom ❤️
@@MadisunGray thanks! I will definitely check those out! I would love to hear more on how you trained yourself to be more intentional, I have 4 young children and am trying to transition to minimalistic lifestyle but it’s hard to know where to begin.
I deactivated Facebook in January and haven't missed it. Of course Facebook gives you 30 days to weaken your resoleve and log back in before they "really" delete your account. I erased my password, just to be sure it was a final decision. I had a fake name, zero friends, and only groups I was interested in as my reason for the account, but I found that the nasty commenters in the groups stole my peace- so I let it go. ..and I'm glad I did.
we love sabbath too... every week its our turn off from the world.. we tend to pack up and go for a drive, find a nice place in nature for a picnic and hubby usually reads to me under a tree... it could be from the bible or something related to our walk with yeshua.. we find the wild birds come to visit and join us especially if we take watermelon, they love the skin and its really nice to have wild birds visit us.. and Friday is prep day so we have fuel, food and a plan already so we dont need the internet.. this is where I want to start bread making cookies etc as well. making potato salads, coleslaw can be pre made, its just the salad that needs prep which isnt work because its for our cell rejuvenation or I do pre prep fruit salads in mason jars.. no plates needed and so easy to pack up and go.. we get fuel on Friday so we dont have to buy anything on sabbath.. if its raining, we still have a picnic at home inside.. or we watch sermons.. yes its on utube but its not like scrolling on social media.. hubby never had fb or social media so he's not missing out on any social stuff.. hubby and I are in different bible learning as he's been in it for longer so we sometimes are watching different studies, I also do prayer and fasting for terminally ill or just for the world so I can be in prayer for an hour or so.. eatingeden.1.29@gmail.com for any prayer requests.. id be honoured to pray for you too..and for any reasons.. thanks again for your video.. much 💜 Levi-Daisy ✨🌸🍉🙏🦋💙

Yeah, social media numbs us. I certainly agree with using the Sabbath to rest and worship. God bless you❣️

What a great idea swapping social media time for time with God! Love it!!!!
Love this! Simple reminders to think about not only what we’re doing with our time, but why we’re doing it.
Ps what happened to your finger? 😁
