- What is the Rarest Block in Minecraft? You may start by thinking Diamond Ore, and move on to the Ancient Debris, or Emerald Ore as that only generates in certain biomes. Then you may think about things that only generate in structures such as Sponges or Dragon Heads. You will likely proceed to things even more rare than that like End Portal Frames, before concluding that it is the Dragon Egg as there is only one in your world. You may remember back to my last video and think it is the miss-textured block (link below), but what if I told you I found something even more rare than that? Something so rare you have almost certainly never come across it in any world you have ever played on? Check out what it is, and how you can setup a farm with it :)

@@circuitwave1 i don't think i will every get to 100k :P ... basically the treasure chest moves the spawner to all of the valid sides, but 'forgets' to tell it what it is supposed to be a spawner of... and the default is pigs :)

If you want an effective porkchop farm then make a hoglin farm. Not only it gives you cooked porkchop but it also gives you leather. But if you want to be cool af then make a pig spawner farm :D
lol... yeah, don't think many people will pick a world seed based on pig spawners... but the cool kids will :P

I spent HOURS trying to find the spawned and have not yet found it. I found so many mob spawners it’s not even funny. This just shows how rare this is

i do have a single pig spawner in my world, from the times were you could generate them in the air. my take on how to make a farm was to simply fill the spawning radius in grass with a minecart below and then have also a jhonny vindicator in the cage. each pig that spawns is killed by him and the drops picked. i suppose that a zoglin could also work now
clever... but that meant giving up half the possible spawning floors so the rates were probably a little slower.

Yeah a buddy of mine had a world that bugged out and all our spawners lost their data, well after another few updates the spawners started working again except they were still tagged as nulls i guess so they spawned pigs. 100% survival playthrough on a world that lasted a year or two

I understood Andrew that quintuple pig spawners require special seeds, but less pig spawners in one place can theoretically be found in almost any world. If you generate enough of it, of course, which is unrealistic.
And I bet, barrier block on Prototech is more rare than this :)
in his video he responded to a comment about how many seeds would have them anywhere in their world (including millions of blocks out where people would never realistically ever find them) and he said about one in a thousand. a little bit more common for fewer spawners in the cluster. Still, the odds of the right seed, and the incredible luck of it being close enough to spawn to be found (and there are some issues based on how it is loaded into the world which may block it even if it was supposed to happen)... I remain confident that this is the rarest block in minecraft java in terms of number of blocks divided by total worlds generated.
... unless you have an even more rare block in mind (which I hope you do so I have an excuse to make another 'rare block' video :) )
@@EagleEye621 in his another video, not about quintuple, but just about pig spawner, he says in comments that there should be at least one in each world within the world border. It's about quintuple that it can be one in thousand seed, because for quintuple you need not just buried treasure replacing cavespider spawner, but also all blocks around it being air, and not cobweb or something else.

a good way would be where they fall not to far into fire (from netherrack) and have minecart hoper below and have a hopper below with chests below so its cooked
camp fires would reduce the risk of items being lost :)

I vaguely remember this happening on the Xbox 360 edition back in 2013 or 2014. We were in creative mode just messing around at the time before crashing the console with excessive amounts of TNT. We blew a hole in the ground and found a mineshaft with a pig spawner in it.

i have a max skelly spawner... but most of those servers have non-vanilla mob-ai and spawning mechanics... and I don't play on them, so not really the best person to do that.

This is definitely a cool find. I don’t know about being able to move around unmovable blocks (presumably with pistons?) But in Beta 1.9 Prerelease 4, you could straight up mine spawners with a silk touch pickaxe to get the pig spawner. (A lot of people have actually done this cause it was easy, so I would contend the barrier block is still more rare)
P.S. the prerelease before (3) had a different bug where you could blow up portal frames with TNT to get the item.
I'm already subscribed, but if you whip out a vanilla survival pig spawner, I'm going to flip.

There is only one rarer... let me explain in old version of pocket edition you could use a nether reactor core and 4 gold block and some cobble to generate a nether structure since the servers couldn’t generate a nether yet. when the core was activated all the block would turn to glowing red obsidian which if mined will turn into regular obsidian. the only way to keep the red glowing obsidian is to break the core while the structure is generating. and since these features were removed YEARS AGO i deem glowing red obsidian as the rarest block in minecraft of all time as it can no longer be abtained but i can also still use the world.

Impressive! I've been playing Minecraft for 8 years now and never even heard of it. What are the chances of a seed generating this spawner?
per the seed finder (he responded to a comment in his video), about 1 in 1,000 that it will appear anywhere in the world (which includes millions of blocks out)
@@EagleEye621 Oh that's surprising. I thought it'd be much rare, tho I didn't consider there's about 60 millions x 60 millions blocks where it can generate

this video was shot in 1.16 ... from a comment over at the linked page "I would say it is about 1 in 2 mil to get good carver seed, then 1 in 3 * 100 * 100 to get good structure seed, then about 1 in 600k to get good biomes, so in total 1 in 36000000000000000 for each chunk, if we want to find it in a whole world it would be about 1 in 1000, that is for a quintuple spawner, it would be lower for a single one"

This farm would be quiet useless since hoglin farms are faster
still pretty cool to have the rarest farm in the game :P
Hoglin Farms are Mid-Late Game, as you have to go to the Nether and build them there. You can literally find a Pig Spawner on your first Mining session and have plenty of Food Day-1.
Pig spawners were easily obtainable in pre 1.13 though, there's a video by Eddxample: ua-cam.com/video/mk1XI8ULtH8/v-deo.html

As I read Andrew's comments, it's not possible - only mineshafts are generated prior to buried treasures, and other structures, like dungeons and strongholds, are generated later, so treasure cannot replace their blocks. And mineshafts have no chests.

Whats the story behind the seed tbh
basically when a treasure chest is generated, it takes the block it is replacing and moves it to every side with an air block. When it lands on a spawner, it does the same, but doesn't preserve the NBT data meaning that even though it was a cave spider spawner, it defaults to pig (if you grab a spawner in creative mode you will notice it starts as a pig spawner and you have to hit it with a spawn egg to change it).

I saw the thumbnail and the first thing I thought was Ranboo and dream smp because he can break spawners and get a default spawners when the spawners get broken and he can actually make the farm
