Many people consider Cliff to be the superior bass player of Metallica. I happen to consider both Cliff and Jason to be equally gifted in different styles. It's quite possible that the Black album may not have had the enormous success with Cliff, as Jason brought his own unique groove and vibe that was perfect for that particular album for that particular place in time - and it all snowballed from there.
What really blows me away about Jason Newsted is how precise he is with every note. His intensity is spot on, and he always plays at the perfect pace. 🤘
Andriy, are you gonna cover Jason's 1993 Mexico City solo? I mean it's simple as huy, I just wanna see you banging your head against the guitar body XD Jasonic at his finest

Your comment gave me some food for thought. Thanks!
Cliff was like a composer virtuoso, but Jason was the perfect player, not that the latter wasn't a groove master himself.
Jason has a sick groove, fucking love it.
Actually, when transcribing, I was stunned how insanely groovy the whole song was.
And consider that I already loved it for years
Definitely one of Jason's coolest riffs, absolutely killer
Andrew Pappas - frriend for almost a decade now! \m/

Jason was so good in metallica always 150 percent on point and his backing vocals were amazing
One of my favorite Black Album bass lines, and Don't Tread On Me

My favorite Black Album song 🤘 love Of Wolf And Man
Jason and Duff are the reason I’d be a pick player if I ever picked up the bass.
Full isolated track with stabs :O

Trujilo is just yet another lars boy
Wut?
I thought Suicide & Redemption was the only song needing a 5 string bass
It’s amazing how bass sounds rubbish in isolation and yet bands sound rubbish without it.
Metallica did themselves well by getting Jason in their band.
What's up with that thumbnail? And why does Jason's shirt say PDF file? 😂
Crap! Realm, Coroner and Watchtower's are by dar verter.
