I think about this video often. I haven't watched it for years. Something about the little cubby that they are working in, alone, as friends, in the rain... it just gives me the feels.
Het Kevin, may I be so bold as to give you some tips on how to improve your boardslides? My friends have been telling me to get the rail underneath my front foot (except for tail/blunt slides, where you want to get it under your back foot). This was a real gamechanger for me, because it gives a lot more stability on the rail, and makes it easier to pop off the rail. They also use this technique to do 270s and pretzels out, which I am told is practically impossible with the rail in the middle of your board. If you try this, please tell me what you think. Thanks for reading and thank you for hosting a great channel.
Jo Go It is a personal preference. Some guys absolutely love big jumps and find them easy, while being „scared“ of smaller once. However every resort has some kind of placing system for differently difficult lines.
i was just about to say that! i personlly like big jumps cause i always over shoot the landing on small once, and even tho they are small it still hurts when you miss the landing hahaha.
yup, that hurts like a bitch! big jumps that shouldn't be a problem, but its always better to go to long than to short! knuckle than fall all the way down the landing dosent sound to good to me, basically a double bail
Fr-ik knuckle is worse than flat landing, because it normally goes up a little. So the compression is even higher. U can see the results of such bails at some slopestyle events. Sometimes the guys and girls are falling down deep in the landing, but are able to compete in the next round. Hard knuckle bail grabs more attention...
Any tips for a new snowboard instructor? I love watching your trick videos to learn something myself. Lately I’ve been watching your beginning rider videos to pick up some new ways to explain basic riding.
Jacob Kiley with a Lip Side the rail is approached from a toe side, and you have to get the rear “lip” of the board over the rail, regular board Slide, rail is approached from heal side, and you just kinda set the board on the rail.
great job considering consist rain. short rail but perfect for learning. I personally think skateboards are perfect for learning rails, granted popping is easier than ollies, but for boardslides and not being strapped, easier to bail. anyway, to each it's own.
Hey Kevin, have you ever been to Minnesota? You should come here we have sick parks over at afton alps and up north at lutsen mountain. Come to Minnesota please!!
Has to do with which side you approach the rail from not which way your facing when going down. For example; I ride goofy. I approach the rail on the left side making the rail to my backside, when I hop onto the rail with my chest facing downhill that would be a backside boardslide. If I approached the rail the same side and did a boardslide with my chest facing up the hill it would actually be a backside lipslide, because my tail end had to come up over the rail for me to slide in that direction.
The Flat Landerz had the same issue with boardslides. You have to jump above the rail to get it working. I was jumping beside it and tried to bring my board over the rail. I guess I was scared of the obstacle being „behind me“. As soon as you commit and jump over the rail, so you land at the center of your board, it’ll work perfectly. You can try to completely jump over some small rails to get the feeling of it. Regarding the right foot issue while Lipsliding, it could look cool (more like a nose slide). However it’ll be due to you jumping too far in this case. Have fun and stay safe!
Can’t wait for this season’s videos. Wanted to ask Kevin, do You use any case for the gopro 6 or just the default case from the box when recording in the snow?. Keep up the good work
Hey SnowboardProCamp, I am moving to Breckenridge, CO the first week of January. I have already bought my epic local pass. I am a beginner-intermediate rider and think it'd be awesome to learn from you guys. I have what it takes to progress and thought it'd be cool to film a beginner progression video series with you guys. I'm 24 years old and I have background in film and broadcast television as well. Please contact me if you think this would be a possibility. Thanks and have a great season!
why are you such a hostile bitch? there's this thing called the internet. we could collab on a video easily through email. also, they've had videos in breck. good luck getting anywhere in life calling people idiots
hey kevin, quick question for you. Im going to whistler tomorrow and im going to be staying till the 26th. are you going to be there and if you are what runs would you be on? loving the videos lately btw!
+Xertz hey! I’ll hard to say where I’ll be exactly. Tomorrow we’ll be on Whistler and Thursday we’ll be on Blackcomb for sure! I’ll be in my red jacket and Chris has a new 32 Jacket! See you up there! Let me know you’re the Xertz UA-cam name!
sounds great man! i hope to see you there! i cant wait, i've been boarding on my local for a week now and im so ready. i assume you're going to whistler on Friday. Anyways, happy thanksgiving if i dont see you in person!
I don‘t know why but I‘m afraid of hitting rails Boxes are easy but my fear when hitting a rail is that I just slip and hit on the rail hard Does anybody have some experience to tell me if my fear is logical ?
falling is essential, trust me if you get close once and feel like you can get it on the 2nd try, you won't even notice the pain of falling on your back. at least thats how it worked with me :p
Just start off with flat rails, they feel just like a box except thinner. If you feel you're not aligned well enough and are losing your balance, just ride or pop off the rail. If you're comfortable on thin and kinked boxes you'll be golden.
Jacklyn Tiangco the first one the rail is “in front” of him and when he lifts off to get on the rail he is moving his chest toward the pipe. The second time the way he comes down the run he has to come at it a little behind him and it’s his back that has to move toward the rail
Love that he’s riding in pouring rain or at least really wet snow. Definitely shows someone that really loves snowboarding👌🏼
East coast 👍
umm definitely west coast.
@@brassardaaron they live in BC. I live in the east coast.
respect the grind
I think about this video often. I haven't watched it for years. Something about the little cubby that they are working in, alone, as friends, in the rain... it just gives me the feels.
unmatched aura fr
Somebody making popcorn.
Not even bothered its raining the entire time
RIP Rail. The rail is dead, long live the rail! Version 3.0 will be out soon
Chris Eyres right on!
Rail 3: Electric Boogaloo
Nice!
Did you use nails or screws? it looks like a piece of metal bent which screws dont do very easily
This video made me happy and i learned something
Awesome!
respect for filming in the rain!
Man I miss these videos
Gabriel Larscheid yeah iv been hyped every time they post

makes it easier, but try this drill: switch feet over the rail. This makes it fun and keeps you on the rail!
Loving these vids 🏂🏂🏂🏂🏂
Stuck in Metro Vancouver, can't wait for the season to start and i can go up to Mt. Seymour
Special__ Mt.Cypress is where's it's at
im jealous of all that amazing snow!!!!
Best snowboarding channel!!
I just built a kink down p rail for me and my daughter's this winter,I am so stoked
these are the best videos, hands down
Nice video. The rain kept getting heavier and you stuck it out!
Talk about committing! Boarding in the rain 🏂 love the vids Kevin!
Loved the video and shows how much dedication, repetition, and practice is needed. Advice - taken!
Nice rail tricks! I'm excited to see you take these into the terrain park :)
But deadass tho, mail me some snow to brooklyn
Love the videos they help so much and so entertaining. Thx
Man where are you with all this lovely snow ❄️ east cost never has this
Thanks for all the efforts to share a great video. Really appreciate!
Ah yea man! Looks fun!!
+Doug W Hey Doug! We have to get you up there! We broke the PVC though. Maybe you can bring up some backup pipes in your truck next time you’re up!
are you the DOUG? the actual doug?
I think a few more feet on that rail would be perfect!
+Mr. Perry we have to rebuild it, so next version will be bigger!
SnowboardProCamp can’t wait to see it, this version reminds me more of a skateboard rail.
@snowboardprocamp Did you ever rebuild this rail? If not, maybe an adventure awaits...🙃
Which Rails are the easiest? Can you make a "What is how difficult in the Park" Video?
Jo Go It is a personal preference. Some guys absolutely love big jumps and find them easy, while being „scared“ of smaller once. However every resort has some kind of placing system for differently difficult lines.
i was just about to say that! i personlly like big jumps cause i always over shoot the landing on small once, and even tho they are small it still hurts when you miss the landing hahaha.
Fr-ik Yeah, especially if you land in flat it could really mess you up!
yup, that hurts like a bitch! big jumps that shouldn't be a problem, but its always better to go to long than to short! knuckle than fall all the way down the landing dosent sound to good to me, basically a double bail
Fr-ik knuckle is worse than flat landing, because it normally goes up a little. So the compression is even higher. U can see the results of such bails at some slopestyle events. Nice park progression for both of you this season already! Keep it up 🤙🤙🤙
i can feel physical pain looking at him in the rain.
Any tips for a new snowboard instructor? I love watching your trick videos to learn something myself. Lately I’ve been watching your beginning rider videos to pick up some new ways to explain basic riding.
awesome video dude ty
love your videos there amazing and really helpful keep up the good work
I'd say make the rail twice as long
Thank you
Ive been waiting for this veideo for so long!!
What’s the difference between lip slide and boardslide?
Jacob Kiley with a Lip Side the rail is approached from a toe side, and you have to get the rear “lip” of the board over the rail, regular board Slide, rail is approached from heal side, and you just kinda set the board on the rail.
Jacob Kiley board slides are mounted directly. lip slides you have to swing the tail over the rail
boardslide: nose goes over the rail first
lipslide: tail goes over the rail first
Thank you everyone!
More content like this one please
awesome video
Hey Kevin I was wondering if you could make a video yo show us how you made your rail
great job considering consist rain.
short rail but perfect for learning.
I personally think skateboards are perfect for learning rails, granted popping is easier than ollies, but for boardslides and not being strapped, easier to bail.
anyway, to each it's own.
Any tips for someone looking to start their own snowboard vlog? Also, any chance you guys come to California this year to ride Big Bear or Mammoth?
Nice video...
I'm coming to Whistler in December. I'm gonna find the secret terrain park and ride it!
+Christopher Matthews haha!
How long is that pvc pipe
Hey Kevin, have you ever been to Minnesota? You should come here we have sick parks over at afton alps and up north at lutsen mountain. Come to Minnesota please!!
+Joey khoury one day Joey!
Whats the difference between a backside or front side board slide and the lip slides? It seems the same to me.
this video really hepl me thank u
Great vid Kevin! Love the content! However, I want to hit my first rail this any advice
Can you please make another video for beginners on rails. Thanks
On the 50/50 when you get on the rail do you just ride it or is there a way to adjust your body so you not slip off?
Just practice bro you’ll get it you just need to work on your balance
Eri Diaz look at the end of the rail
I don’t know why but front board is so much easier to balance than back board for me
Question, how is it a backside boardslide when you front side onto the rail and vice versa for the frontside?
Fox Deisig it’s weird but it works the other way around with spinning of jumps
Has to do with which side you approach the rail from not which way your facing when going down. For example; I ride goofy. I approach the rail on the left side making the rail to my backside, when I hop onto the rail with my chest facing downhill that would be a backside boardslide. Fuck ya!!! Look at this guy shredding in the rain to help us!!! Love it
You should make some more rails!
What model GoPro do you guys use
How did you make the wooden frame?
Nice!
+Erika Constantino Thanks Erika!
I can front lib on big rails but on more on my right binding (I’m goofy) then middle of my board. I can’t normal board slide any tips

Can you guys do a full review on the bataleon evil twin?
No views three likes....hi Kevin 👋
Sup kevin, can you actually make a tutorial how to build this set up "pvc pipe" and stuff. or if some, give me the link pls 😉
Happy thanksgiving guys !
Can’t wait for this season’s videos. Wanted to ask Kevin, do
You use any case for the gopro 6 or just the default case from the box when recording in the snow?. Keep up the good work
YukiiY there is no case for the 6
what size in length was that rail
I liked that rail better with less snow and a lot of rocks. Added a certain danger factor.

how do you like colorado? Going to be moving there in the next two years (living in germany currently). Hows the pow?
hey kevin, quick question for you. Im going to whistler tomorrow and im going to be staying till the 26th. are you going to be there and if you are what runs would you be on? loving the videos lately btw!

How long is the rail?
I knocked myself out trying a frontside boardslide😆 slipped on my toe edge
We’re u where it a helmet
howie asplund English?? I had a helmet and still knocked myself out
always put ur hands behind ur head wuhen u fall
Front boards and back lips are so scary for me. But mostly back lips
are u guys in Canada because thats a lot of snow
Mac Cam I'm pretty sure they're in or near Whistler B.C.
What is the pvc mounted on?
+Hezekiah Domowski A wooden frame we built by watching a UA-cam video
at 4:43 the board weird demon thing is watchin u
Surprised you didn't make it longer dude.
What’s the diameter of the pipe
I will never forget the first time I landed a on a rail
This is legit
Was it raining
Im 85 pounds and 4.8 ft. What length snowboard should I get?
Snowboard Everything I would say get a 146 cm
Fatass
I have a 148 and I’m 95 pounds and 5.3 so I’d say get a 140-245
145
Lol the only people that dislike your videos are people without a snowboard
Does pvc pipe scratch your board
Jacob Parker who cares
Jacob Parker no
Cab 180?
Looked more like switch 180
Is that rain
Key= commit
what is the song???
Song name 😍
I don‘t know why but I‘m afraid of hitting rails

at least thats how it worked with me :p
vacenayers thanks for the response
You‘re probably right
The hardest thing is trying it the first time
I will just have to go through it
Try 50-50 first those are the easiest and the help you to get the felling of the rail :) also it's easier to save your self if you are slippin
Just start off with flat rails, they feel just like a box except thinner. If you feel you're not aligned well enough and are losing your balance, just ride or pop off the rail. If you're comfortable on thin and kinked boxes you'll be golden.
Kevin we have the same helmet
Almost first!
Thats not a cab 180 its just a switch 180 cabs are fakie steve Cabalero said it himself
That rain. Where's all that gortex gear
Wait I’m confused. Why did they first two look the same to me?
Jacklyn Tiangco the first one the rail is “in front” of him and when he lifts off to get on the rail he is moving his chest toward the pipe. The second time the way he comes down the run he has to come at it a little behind him and it’s his back that has to move toward the rail
Where the early squad at
I don’t get the difference between frontside and backside
Hey Kevin
damn I should just move to canada then
mountain opens in 8 hours 45 minutes from now, i want to board so bad.
tai lopez you got an hour 45 to go! Have fun shredding!
Tip for backside boardslide, reach for your toes so you don’t fall back
And a great board for jibing is the dinosaurs will die RATS
That rain makes me not wanna watch it. Brrrr.
Kevin’s lip slides are so bad😂
I thought my headphones were broken
