I had to do some research on that stock 3 relay box too. Google has the diagram. I used a separate relay triggered from the cab to turn my fans on. I got it wired half-low speed right now. They spin but dont even make noise like yours do. Was wondering why my ac doesnt work at stop lights 😅
@@jimmyramirez8844 if you get the bp harness no you wont need to doy this, this is like the cheap bad way to do it, if you do it this way the fans will come out as soon as you put the ac on, caussing the engine to cool off more than it should because it will turn the fan on high speed, so your engine will likely not hit the normal temperature, so yeah is better to put everything as stock as possible 1 get your OEM harness fans and radiator is not that hard theres a ton from junkyards 2005-2007 silverado sierra and more will have it doesnt matter the engine 4.3 4.8 5.3 all good 2 get your bp harness and ac sensor super good quality delphi quality 3 get your truck to a guy that knows hpptunners so he will load up the same engine you have file but from 05-07 that way it will work as factory new most of the time you wont even notice the fans because with ac on it only turns on the left fan and on low, they are better than the fan clutch in every possible way for reference mine is a 99 silverado rcsb z71 4x4 5.3 it worked like a charm no problems whatsoever Hope this helps you bud feel free to ask anything
@@ricks5468 depends on what truck u have 99-02 are different than 03-04, if the hptunners guy program it like it should your truck will work as good as the stock 05-07 ones
So to clarify you have the green wire going to the blue plug on pin 42. The green wire just goes to the added relay? Second question. Does the fan hooked on the relay only come on when the ac is on? I’m about to have my tuner do it so I’m just wondering what I need to tell him and I’m going to try to do the relay myself
Did both fans work on the low speed with the ac off afterwards ? I did mine a few months back and I did the green to green like your originally had it and I noticed both fans come on with low speed and if I turn the ac on with the fans running they’ll kick it high speed . But if I just turn the ac on while no fans are running only one fan will come on high . I guess I’ll change the wires and give it a go

U need the high pressure ac sensor and harness to set it like it should when u turn on the AC
So I won’t need to do this step if I get the bp harness?

I had to add the relay also on my 2001 Silverado.
Does the electric fan do as good or better job cooling? Thinking of doing swap in a ram.

This is random but where did you get your blue gauge needles in your Silverado? I’m having trouble finding ones that will fit my 02 Tahoe
I got them off eBay. Just searched Silverado gauge needles.

No they don’t unfortunately. You have to get 99-02 needles. I think the seller is gm gauge repair or something like that.
