    Did the same fan upgrade to my 01 Tahoe. Hard to find the parts but way better then aftermarket in my opinion. Sent out my ECU to a tunner to unlock the fan feature, so for I have had this upgrade for several months and no problems at all. In my case I can only use one of the leads to the computer and the other to a relay to change the positive polarity to a negative and run to a a/c wire.

    I used to do this type of conversation at the dealership all the time. We used to get fleet Focus's without crusie control very cheap. Add the factory contol switch, or change the steering wheel in some circumstances, enable crusie control in the PCM, and factory cruise.

    • @LawrenceTolman
      @LawrenceTolman  3 роки тому

      there are a few write ups online, but it involves triggering the second fan from the AC compressor clutch instead of the ECM, but that uses a positive signal instead of negative, so you use a relay to make the change and trigger the fan.

    For the last week I have been trying to figure out why my new to me '03 2500 silverado AC has been not working at low speeds.. Turns out the previous owner did E-fan conversion. I'm assuming that they skipped out on the tuning because the fans only come on with engine temp, and not with the AC. Your video just gave me everything I need to know to go check that the pinning is correct and that I need to find a tuner to change that setting. Thanks for the help. Liked & subbed.

    Bro only connect the #42 and put back stock wire #33 thats for your a/c when ever you try to make your a/c work again is not going to work. if you keep the new #33 is going to make your transmission act up shifting weird and not shifting to overdrive trying to save you a transmission and a/c headache when you get to tuning

    • @LawrenceTolman
      @LawrenceTolman  3 роки тому

      how is it going to affect the transmission? I get the AC recirculate thing and if/when I do reinstall AC ill hook it up proper, but not sure on the transmission thing?

    • @rubenwong9574
      @rubenwong9574 3 роки тому

      Somehow #33 is connected to transmission wiring and it doesnt let it shift into overdrive or wait until you get the fuel pump and tunned and run the truck and if the trans acts up that wire is going to be your problem thats what happened to my 02 when i did my efan conversion

    • @iamlemarksman
      @iamlemarksman 3 роки тому +1

      99-02 pin #33 is to command the recirc door in the hvac box. Logic is that if it’s overheating, it commands it to act as a mini radiator to get the coolant cooled as a last resort. You shouldn’t need that pin, it doesn’t deal with the transmission at all.

      The pin 33 wire just gets removed and capped. It is a ground control for the recirc door of the hvac box. The computer will close this door during an overheating event to put more air across the heater core to help cool the engine. De-pin it, cap it, and tape it to the harness.
