OMG I had someone commission me who was SUCH a creep. He commissioned me to do multiple my little pony artworks, and always talked about how much he wanted to screw one of the characters, and he talked in the discord kitten shit. After he started venting about how terrible his life was I told him that this was strictly a professional relationship and he flipped out and changed his name TO SOMETHING ABOUT KILLING ME 😭 He was over a decade older than me too like EW!!

The mention of James the cat made me surprised. That was a show from the 80's in britain i think. Although, you may have probably not heard of it aswell because most episodes are actually lost media. Anyways, that guy should have at least been grateful for the free art. Your artystle is wonderful and your ability to perservere with this guy definitely taught you some things. Thank you! The brush was actually a airbrush in clip studio paint that I messed with a ton until it was great for freckles! I'm glad you like it! Yeah, the guy was really weird, but he apparently harassed like a BUNCH of people, so I'm glad he eventually got banned from most things!
I am a foot fetish artist [Yes, thats relevant] you were REALLY lucky, without despiting or under appreciating your awful experience by any means I gotta tell you had it relatively "easy" and heres why. That weirdo moves a lot through DA and once arrived to my profile asking for a picture of James showing his feet. [Usual work for me] the problem is that this guy wanted it for free and when I denied to he would go full racist mode, homophobe, insult by nationality, etc. This would extend the same way it did with you with multi accounts. For adding he would ALSO get a picture out of your gallery or discord groups where you show your feet [some artist do that from time to time] and use that as a "bribing" strategy ; stupid considering it's in a common interest circle and people won't make fun of you. Yet the lowest thing he would recurr it's gathering pictures of cartel murders and mutilated people to sent to you as a shock technique. I was done all of the above until earlier this month decided to release his IP on a Twitter post exposing all of the things he has done to others, with a possible minor involved. And I regret NOTHING. I'm glad you had it better!

I had a lunatic try to get my dA account shut down becuase I had in my artist dictriptions to please ask for permission before using my art. They called me names and used rude language, and were stocking around in the forums trying to find someone to hack my account. Simpley because they did not like the fact that I was protective of my art. Eventually I took it to the admins of dA and they dealt with the crazy person. But it was nuts, and a little scary.
I am honestly so confused how people can act so terrible to artists. Your art is amazing and if i had to comission somebody you would most likely be on that list

I once had somebody nitpick over the exact shape of something on their character. For eight hours. Eight entire hours. On top of that, they changed their mind. Repeatedly. I got so frustrated, I threw something at the wall, and never took a commission from them again, and charged them WAY extra for the time and frustration.

Hi, a few years ago i was also approched by this person and when i refused to draw that character for free he sent me 5 paypal invoices, tried to hack my paypal and all of my social media and sent me threats, gore and illegal porn. I cant believe hes still at it. Im so sorry.

I'm also non-binary but still look VERY femme. I had a man hit me up and ask for a very cheap commission, it was literally a $5 rough sketch of a head. I drew it and gave it to him and he loved it. I thought that would be it, and after I gave him the comm, I posted a selfie. He then kept asking me about my gender and asking what I was born as. I didnt feel comfortable disclosing that. Anyway weeks pass and he asks me for another comm but more expensive. I get it done quickly and he loved it! I was happy with it, but he started again, but this time i ignored it. He STALKED all my social media! He even messaged my husband demanding to know the gender I was born as. He freaked out and said I was scamming men into buying my art, baiting them as a hot woman. LMFAO. This was a few years ago, i think he left twitter!!

I have had this one commissioner who wasn’t necessarily bad in a sense more so just so annoying. She came to me from someone who had just recently commissioned me, so like they recommended me and that girl reached out. So, this girl I believe she wanted a custom from me which fine cool, the first commission she got from me went very very smoothly. Then she came back, this time she wanted art done of a character which coolio, but she sent me an image of someone else’s art and asked me for the exact pose/style which right off the bat, wtf? Like if u wanted that persons style then just commission them not me. Unfortunately I was very young and this has been when I was first starting out with commissions so I did the drawing all coolio done right. She comes back around after a few days and wants another commission, COOL, this time she wanted another custom done, and poor little kid me was like ok I can do this, so she gave me everything for the commission I drew her a sketch and she was like…. Can u change this, and this, and this, and this…. U can already see where this is going.. so thru the whole thing she kept requesting changes after changes and if you know which I’m sure you do, it’s very exhausting. Eventually I got the commission done and she was happy with it. I forgot to mention but these commissions where like dirt cheap, like very cheap because I was still learning, she comes back again to get a ref sheet done, again she goes on with wanting so many things changed, I get exhausted but it’s done. After while she starts getting very friendly with me, I mean naturally after commissioning me so many times u tend to get close with your customers, but she kept going on about how she was so broke but she wanted art and how she wants to commission me for art again but she just can’t, obviously I’m not that dumb so I don’t fall for the bait and tell her “oh man I’m sorry to hear that maybe save up some money?” Yada yada tryin to be nice. After so many times of her commissioning me (which I mean don’t get me wrong I was grateful the extra money even tho it was small was helpful) I started getting way too exhausted to keep taking on her commissions, like it was mentally and physically draining me bc she would request so many changes and all her charcater s literally looked the same so it wasn’t as if I was drawing something fresh and new. Eventually she finally found another person to obsess over and I hardly ever talk to her since. Sorry if there’s typos or it’s hard to read but I’m tired lol just thought I’d share.

An evil scientists and poindexter try and capture Felix but he always escapes. The one I watched is very old from the 1900s. I remember one time i tried doing commission on discord and someone said they would pay 4 dollars for my art but when the sketch they desided to lower it to $1 which i just took and the person would keep making excuses for not giving saying they "were at the gym" and after a week i got annoyed and talked about the commission on the server and the server got mad and he said "i will pay now" and when i dmed him he said it was my fault and he wasnt going to pay and a few days later when i brought it up to him again he said he was never going to pay and my art suck and just said that so "it doesnt hurt your feelings" and then that dude would go around in the server acting like mr tough guy so that happened (also love ur art it adorable)

i had a similar experience, but it was with writing and not drawing. i had requests open and i mostly got fanfic requests because thats what i wrote the most but this person requested me to write a story between these two characters that would be shipped, and i was fine with that cause i kinda liked the ship but after a while they started requesting things i had clearly stated i wouldnt write, like......... mpreg (both characters were cis guys. which is kind of transphobic), r*pe, smut and a kinda uncomfortable relationship between an adult character and a character who was a minor and THEY WANTED ME TO RP WITH THEM ABOUT THAT. and im a minor and i KNOW that that person wasnt a minor too so it was really uncomfortable for me. in the end i deleted all the socials i had that they had access to and blocked them in my new accounts just in case. I also draw and I really want to start doing commissions one day but the main thing that stops me is the fear that something like what happened to you would happen to me, or all the gross shit that guy did happening to me. im glad you could get out of that uncomfortable situation and I hope that guy is never able to get in contact with you ever again

It was like, a bunch of sonic characters (I believe also paired off) in a hotel room in their socks (and iirc they asked for a lot of characters, so it'd be a big piece/ time consuming) I wasnt too fond of the idea but w/e (i forget how old I was) like a week or so later they ask if its done, I say no (I dont think I even started) and id have to look but it felt like every few days they asked if it was done (keep in mind, this was a request- for free- not a commission. there was zero payment.(even if it was i wouldve taken payment at the end) so eventually the dude gets mad and is like 'forget you and forget the commission!!" to which i reminded them 'this wasnt a commission. this was a request' the notes are buried in my dA ill have to look at them again

I am a foot fetish artist [Yes, thats relevant] you were REALLY lucky, without despiting or under appreciating your awful experience by any means I gotta tell you had it relatively "easy" and heres why.
That weirdo moves a lot through DA and once arrived to my profile asking for a picture of James showing his feet. [Usual work for me] the problem is that this guy wanted it for free and when I denied to he would go full racist mode, homophobe, insult by nationality, etc. This would extend the same way it did with you with multi accounts. For adding he would ALSO get a picture out of your gallery or discord groups where you show your feet [some artist do that from time to time] and use that as a "bribing" strategy ; stupid considering it's in a common interest circle and people won't make fun of you. Yet the lowest thing he would recurr it's gathering pictures of cartel murders and mutilated people to sent to you as a shock technique.
I was done all of the above until earlier this month decided to release his IP on a Twitter post exposing all of the things he has done to others, with a possible minor involved. And I regret NOTHING.

I had a lunatic try to get my dA account shut down becuase I had in my artist dictriptions to please ask for permission before using my art.
They called me names and used rude language, and were stocking around in the forums trying to find someone to hack my account.
Simpley because they did not like the fact that I was protective of my art.
Eventually I took it to the admins of dA and they dealt with the crazy person. But it was nuts, and a little scary.

I once had somebody nitpick over the exact shape of something on their character. For eight hours. Eight entire hours. On top of that, they changed their mind. Repeatedly. I got so frustrated, I threw something at the wall, and never took a commission from them again, and charged them WAY extra for the time and frustration.

my worst request experience is from when i was 11! tons of strangers asking me, an 11 YEAR OLD, to draw their "sfw totally not a fetish" fetishes. only yrs later (im 15 currently) did i realize id been exploited for their weird gross fetish content :( a few years later (13 yrs) one of the same people even COMMISSIONED ME FOR MONEY to draw more fetish work. ended up refunding and blocking as soon as i realized what i was being told to draw was in fact NOT innocent loool.

I am a NSFW artist and love my art, its fun, and tbh its therapeutic for me. I'm also non-binary but still look VERY femme. I had a man hit me up and ask for a very cheap commission, it was literally a $5 rough sketch of a head. I drew it and gave it to him and he loved it. I thought that would be it, and after I gave him the comm, I posted a selfie. He then kept asking me about my gender and asking what I was born as. I didnt feel comfortable disclosing that. Anyway weeks pass and he asks me for another comm but more expensive. I get it done quickly and he loved it! I was happy with it, but he started again, but this time i ignored it. He STALKED all my social media! He even messaged my husband demanding to know the gender I was born as. He freaked out and said I was scamming men into buying my art, baiting them as a hot woman. LMFAO. This was a few years ago, i think he left twitter!!

I have had this one commissioner who wasn’t necessarily bad in a sense more so just so annoying. She came to me from someone who had just recently commissioned me, so like they recommended me and that girl reached out. So, this girl I believe she wanted a custom from me which fine cool, the first commission she got from me went very very smoothly. Then she came back, this time she wanted art done of a character which coolio, but she sent me an image of someone else’s art and asked me for the exact pose/style which right off the bat, wtf? Like if u wanted that persons style then just commission them not me. Unfortunately I was very young and this has been when I was first starting out with commissions so I did the drawing all coolio done right. She comes back around after a few days and wants another commission, COOL, this time she wanted another custom done, and poor little kid me was like ok I can do this, so she gave me everything for the commission I drew her a sketch and she was like…. Can u change this, and this, and this, and this…. U can already see where this is going.. so thru the whole thing she kept requesting changes after changes and if you know which I’m sure you do, it’s very exhausting. Eventually I got the commission done and she was happy with it. I forgot to mention but these commissions where like dirt cheap, like very cheap because I was still learning, she comes back again to get a ref sheet done, again she goes on with wanting so many things changed, I get exhausted but it’s done. After while she starts getting very friendly with me, I mean naturally after commissioning me so many times u tend to get close with your customers, but she kept going on about how she was so broke but she wanted art and how she wants to commission me for art again but she just can’t, obviously I’m not that dumb so I don’t fall for the bait and tell her “oh man I’m sorry to hear that maybe save up some money?” Yada yada tryin to be nice. After so many times of her commissioning me (which I mean don’t get me wrong I was grateful the extra money even tho it was small was helpful) I started getting way too exhausted to keep taking on her commissions, like it was mentally and physically draining me bc she would request so many changes and all her charcater s literally looked the same so it wasn’t as if I was drawing something fresh and new. Eventually she finally found another person to obsess over and I hardly ever talk to her since.

If this is the same guy i think it is yes, yes he's a piece of crap, i am a nfsw artist and this guy is well known in our circles for bullying and harassing new artists into doing art of james the cat. he bullied artists to the point where several smaller artists ended up quitting, and if you go deeper and the james the cat fellow is bigot who actually harasses people for being lgbtq+. The guy was thankfully recently haulted when he doxxed by a artist he tried to bully. But who knows if that will permantly stop him. But its intersting that he was doing this outside the nsfw circles

Felix the cat is my childhood😭 but it’s not really two cats.. it’s a main character (Felix) who is a black cat and has a bag of tricks. An evil scientists and poindexter try and capture Felix but he always escapes. The one I watched is very old from the 1900s. It’s from America I think but maybe this guy was talking a bout a different Felix the cat. Sorry about my ramblings I really enjoyed your video. You just awakened a nostalgic memory in my brain.❤️❤️

I know this dude, he joined my discord server out of nowhere at the beginning of January of this year, probably because he wanted to talk to a fan of James the Cat (Which I am and i even made fanart of the series available on my DA and Twitter) and he said some very unhinged shit (and im talking about some Misogynistic and racist shit too), not surprising since he also sent some disturbing art to my DA Dms, and when i banned him off the server last month he got so fucking mad that he even attempted to do a raid on the server (But thankfully someone notified me at the last minute and turned off invites) I've heard this man threaten the creator of the series, Kate Canning (who i feel very bad for) because she exposed his ass for sending her unhinged and despicable messages to her dms
I am a fan of the series, i will always and i do not want anything to do with this man and i hope others will do the same thing too

I remember one time i tried doing commission on discord and someone said they would pay 4 dollars for my art but when the sketch they desided to lower it to $1 which i just took and the person would keep making excuses for not giving saying they "were at the gym" and after a week i got annoyed and talked about the commission on the server and the server got mad and he said "i will pay now" and when i dmed him he said it was my fault and he wasnt going to pay and a few days later when i brought it up to him again he said he was never going to pay and my art suck and just said that so "it doesnt hurt your feelings" and then that dude would go around in the server acting like mr tough guy so that happened (also love ur art it adorable)

i had a similar experience, but it was with writing and not drawing. i had requests open and i mostly got fanfic requests because thats what i wrote the most but this person requested me to write a story between these two characters that would be shipped, and i was fine with that cause i kinda liked the ship but after a while they started requesting things i had clearly stated i wouldnt write, like......... mpreg (both characters were cis guys. which is kind of transphobic), r*pe, smut and a kinda uncomfortable relationship between an adult character and a character who was a minor and THEY WANTED ME TO RP WITH THEM ABOUT THAT. and im a minor and i KNOW that that person wasnt a minor too so it was really uncomfortable for me. in the end i deleted all the socials i had that they had access to and blocked them in my new accounts just in case.
I also draw and I really want to start doing commissions one day but the main thing that stops me is the fear that something like what happened to you would happen to me, or all the gross shit that guy did happening to me. im glad you could get out of that uncomfortable situation and I hope that guy is never able to get in contact with you ever again

If i log into my dA i could explain more since I still have the note. But years ago somebody sent me a request. It was like, a bunch of sonic characters (I believe also paired off) in a hotel room in their socks (and iirc they asked for a lot of characters, so it'd be a big piece/ time consuming) I wasnt too fond of the idea but w/e (i forget how old I was) like a week or so later they ask if its done, I say no (I dont think I even started) and id have to look but it felt like every few days they asked if it was done (keep in mind, this was a request- for free- not a commission. there was zero payment.(even if it was i wouldve taken payment at the end) so eventually the dude gets mad and is like 'forget you and forget the commission!!" to which i reminded them 'this wasnt a commission. this was a request'
