    Thank you for releasing this great tutorial. Could you also do a video with tiling? I want to use World Machine tiling, combined with the UE5 World Partition system and procedural vegetation, along with masks for setting areas for different types of vegetation/assets. That would be great to show off what the combination of World Machine and UE5 can really do.

    please understand i wasnt complaining to you, i was complaining that world machines tutorials are still on the old version and your tutorial was out of date. but thankyou again for this video!!!! :)

    Excellent! A quick question; if I find a nice picturesque ground level view in my newly created terrain, how can I capture an image of it? Thanks 😀

      If you are asking about how to capture image in Unreal of your terrain. Read this from the official documentation.

    So with the free version we are limited to a map with 1024*1024 right ? So we are limited to a 1024km wide area ? Even if I set 16km on world machine ? Because it is every time that size when I measure on ue5. Maybe there is smth I did not understand

    Thanks for your tutorials...i would like to do a massive open world in ue5 like your older tutorial,but with the new versione of world machine i can't get it like that. I would like to do a big island of like 100km2 but with the explorer view i can't get the shapes to work properly...do you have any advice? Thanks

      I'm working on a new video introducing you to Gaea. Gaea is Free at some point and can get this result. Stay tuned for the video. Coming very soon!
      Ofc you can use world machine too to achieve this result.
      You need to calculate the height of the heightmap you export in order to get the right shape.
      Also one trick is - you can export terrain 10x10km2 and use the scale terrain option to make it bigger if you want this shape but in 100km2.

      @@CGDealers i tried some heightmap and as you say i need to calculate the right height. When i import it on UE the shape is totally off.

  • @anthonysimmonsacousticmusi1098

    Can you make multiple maps and connect them in ue5. Like say one for mountains for one area with a master material. And another world machine map for say desert with a different auto material?

    • @CGDealers
      @CGDealers  Рік тому +1

      Yeah just spread them across different scenes and you are good to go.

    Hey tyvm for the awesome tutorial! Though, I'm still a bit confused with the different "Origin X,Y, width and Breadth" sizes in World Machine, combined with the UE resolution.
    I would expect just 3 numbers, X klm x Y klm and the thickness.
    Also, it will be nice to create another tutorial of how we can add a bigger World machine map in World Partition.
    B well!

  • @cr4ftwork
    @cr4ftwork Рік тому +1

    so if i understand correct the landscape in this example is 4 km² big right? if i create multiple 2 x 2 km landscapes in WM and merge them together you re starting to build huge landscapes or is this not the right way to build a massive Open World with World Partition?!

    • @CGDealers
      @CGDealers  Рік тому +1

      Ye you can create different small chunks in World Machine and use world partition. If you don't have the pro to make the tiles in world machine this should work. Never tested it, but in theory should do the trick.
