    Only bad part of this video is only being able to like it once! Such an easy job with your detailed instructions really helped I hate working around fuel and the whole process was a breeze. Thanks!

    There's an arrow on the retaining ring that you line up with the two lines on the tank. It goes right on.

    A little bit of Vaseline or oil. And that pump will just slide right down with no hammer

    nice video
    I would like to clean the inside of the gas tank with pressure washer and dry it and I would do the same thing for the outside of the tank. Also, I would grind the straps and paint them

    If you do not need the fuel pump fuel line....with the locking connecters that connect to the big aluminum fuel line that goes up the driver side frame to up front...I need one...thanks.

    All of my carriage bolts are seized I managed to cut the front bolts off and I’m going to drill them out

      I’m in the same boat … with two of my carriage bolts spinning freely with the nut on. Before I take a die-grinder to it, I want to make sure I’m not missing a more simple fix? From what I understand, once I grind off the nut, I have to drill a hole up through the tub, then from inside the tub, using that pilot hole, use a hole saw to cut a big enough hole to drop a new carriage bolt in place. Any other options??

    • @thehashmonkey
      @thehashmonkey Рік тому

      @@daledixon I never drilled a hole through the tub I never used a die grinder either just a grinder with a cutting wheel up over the diff cut all 3 front ones off I’m going to use imperial carriage bolts instead of metric when I replace them

    Hey Justin great coverage on doing fuel tank,might wanna let viewers know to get the proper pump,they have one for 4.9l and other for 2.5l.diferent pump psi is main issue,plus to align the regulator like you did the pump.Great job,your mic was much better than other videos.aThat slid plate look cherry compared to mine I took out of the project jeep I'm doing.

    At 2:40 that small hose u took off with pliers. Mine is missing after having frame repaired since they also dropped the tank. Would I be able to replace that small hose to the tank while the tank is in place?

    Isn't there supposed to be a ground strap to the filler neck?

  • @cedcampbell47012
    @cedcampbell47012 2 роки тому

    So the vent tube from the axle doesn't actually plug into the vent tube at the filler hose? It's just tied to the vent tube? Thanks. I subbed the other day when you was doing the frame repair for the rear control arms. I am replacing my skid plate as well and my straps too. I don't have impact and I screwed the strap studs up and the front right stud. I used Kroil on them a few times before I did this. I'm looking for a cordless impact now. Will make things so much easier. Thanks again.

      Hey chuck you are correct on all accounts. The metal vent line that the rollover vents are connected to is small but the inner diameter of the rubber hose is equally as small.

    A little off topic but do you know of ANY place where I can get a replacement amp for the subwoofer for my 2001 TJ? It’s in the console in the plastic subwoofer unit but I can’t find one anywhere. Thanks in advance!

    Which fuel pump did you use? Delphi?
    Also, whoever designed that retaining ring should be waterboarded with 91 Octane and be given a lit cigarette. Just popped in the FG1353 and it was nearly impossible to thread closed as it would not sit flush on the seal no matter how much I pounded it...finally was able to catch a flush thread and it closed, but it was a B****ch....
