Beautiful hike ... Thanks for sharing. The longest day hike I've ever taken was scaling Half Dome in Yosemite... How breathtaking! And you know, at the top, I *did* remember the struggle but the view and feeling from the summit were priceless! It was my turn to cook dinner that night for our camp and I was EXHAUSTED! I fell asleep sitting up while eating next to the fire... My friends woke me up and I just crawled into my tent and slept like the dead. 10/10 would recommend :) Thanks for not only showing the big picture while you explore but also stopping to show some of the smaller details -- the activity animals, the patterns on plants, the features of fungi, the sounds of streams ... Helps feel like we're really there with you, not only for the visual/audio, but also because it feels like the pace of a hike... Walk, walk, walk, pause and rest, repeat... Cheers Eric!
Thanks, Randy! I'm glad you enjoy the videos! I'll do my best to keep 'em coming and keep making them a little better each time! In a previous life (well, maybe just a long time ago in this one), my Dad and I went up the Vernal and Nevada Falls trail behind Half Dome. At the top of that trail, another forks off up to the top of Half Dome. We didn't go on that leg, but the waterfalls trail was a good challenge and very rewarding. I can imagine that the view from the top of Half Dome was just spectacular! Pictures and TV can't really do these things justice. Especially when you EARN the view, one determined step at a time! There are so many beautiful and amazing places in the world to wander and explore. I can't wait to get a little further afield and see some more exotic places. But for now, New England is where I find myself, so we play with the hand we're dealt!
I actually wasn't. There were a handful of people. I just edited them out! But it wasn't too crowded that day on account of the weather, and it was pretty early in the season. Thanks for watching!
When I was 16, I'm 65 now, I was a Day Camp Councilor at Monadnock Bible Conference in Jaffrey, NH. Every week I had 5 new city kids, aged 11, 12 in my group. Every Friday we could climb Mount Monadnock or go to the Friendly Farm, baby farm animals. Of course my groups wanted to climb the mountain. My memory of the mountain is faded, I'm sure it's a lot different now, anyway. There was both trails, then. I think there were more leafy trees, vines, wild blueberries and bees. Thanks for the FLASH FROM THE PAST!
Hi Katie! Glad I could help stir up some pleasant memories! I filmed this video in March or April I believe, so the foliage hadn't really bloomed yet. I've been there in the summertime before, too, and it's much greener with lots of flowers, etc. Thanks for watching the video and sharing your story!
This looks a lot like Lord of the Rings territory. Look out for Orks! That 69 year old you mentioned.....more power to him!

Tough hike with shoes. Very nice editing, love your camera work and (liken) your fungus.
Haha! Thanks, Jerry! Glad you enjoyed it!
That is some crazy terrain!
Here’s to all the cameras that were left behind on your wander! 😆
Haha! Extra mileage!
Can’t believe you were the only one on top.
