This is my old car. Loved it, spent plenty on the upkeep. It has been mapped and it’s on bilstein B12 suspension with M3 arms!

Always wanted that car Tom when I saw it in the FB group, but with my D3 BT Saloon still being restored I couldn’t justify it.

Amazing car. I wanted one but ended up with a vrs wagon.

SE
Sport ( which is in your D3 )
M sport
M sport steering wheel has perforated leather
The sport steering wheel doesn't.
The centre design is also different between sport and M sport.

Bmw nerd here🙈, it's an SE wheel retrimmed to Alpina specs...Alpina rarely to never use M Sport steering wheels. Look closely at both again 😉. Wicked vid as usual mate

What is an SE? And do alpina use base spec cars? And then put their touch on it or what? No idea about BMWs I’m more into my VW’s

Love these Calvin. Proper nice daily, rare, under the radar, feels much more powerful than the numbers suggest (which granted diesel often does) but this is certainly a much quicker car than i think even BMW/Alpina advertised. Love the idea of giving it away. Great addition to the PoD's. Nice one.

What I find strange about the Alpina lineups in this era was that they all seem to be really low spec, however it looks fantastic. This example doesn’t have xenon’s, either of the nav setups, no heated seats, no sunroof. I’m not sure from my perspective I’d rather have a normal bmw touring with great spec than an Alpina with lower spec but a price premium! But still a cool piece none the less.
yeah and it kinda bothers me. My 2005 (although a 330i) E90 is way better equipped with sat nav, adaptive xenons, lumbar support and heated seats. But same goes for M3 E9x cars. I've been on a hunt for one and many M3 cars are lower spec than my 330i
@@Minto107 I’ve not long sold my 200k 07 330d coupe and it had almost every factory option, excluding rear blind and laser cruise bur it’s so rare to find a great spec car these days because they are so sought after!
@@TheKatWeasel so true! And another thing that actually disappointed me is that this D3 Biturbo uses a 23d engine... I was expecting to see a tuned 335d. That would be a monster and way more special

Lovely car mate. I have an E91 335d (stock no mods) and I love it. Mileage is now at 161k and still goes like hell and drives like a dream. Looked after properly, these cars will go on forever. Whoever wins this Alpina will love it, fabulous daily drivers!

Nice, looks great with the Dymamics, I had them on both my D3's... I've had 3 Alpina's in the past- E39 B10 3.3, E91 D3 MT Touring and lastly a E92 D3 BT. I really regret selling the B10 3.3 , that was an awesome car...

E36 Alpina had same green and blue stitch with the arrow grommets to change up and down too.

I had an E90 330i with 150k when I sold it. It drank oil and had pretty much every engine accessory replaced between 120 and 140k but the interior could have been brand new. Always impressed me that.

Alpina use SE because it supposed to be the best version of the chassis for the road (not track road!) a lot of my customers who own alpinas tell me they tried and m3/5 and found it too aggressive and firm for the road and they find the equivalent alpina are more compliant comfortable while not lacking in the power department and still retaining that special feel
The steering wheel isn’t a m sport. The bottom spoke is slightly different. Great looking car
7:30 It is not the M sport steering wheel like the other car, but the regular Sport one.

The only thing that puts me off these D3’s is they only have part leather and no heated seats, but I’ve looked at them loads of times on autotrader. I always preferred the pre lci mirrors on this generation 3 series, they look a lot more sleek
My friends old car, only couple months ago we out and about in it in the peak district and three peaks back in summer. haha.

They buy a base spec SE car and then upgrade it from brand new zero miles. So what's the point in them buying the more expensive MSport cars to just junk all the same but more expensive parts during the upgrade.... It makes sense.
Apline maps for engine and gearbox are kind of the pinnacle of BMW tuning, plus they use components that most tuners would fit like Bilstein suspension etc.

I have a black coupe D3 Bi Turbo auto low miles fully tricked out and cherished, I love it, ill never sell it. There are only 3 black auto coupes in the UK.

I have a 335i right now and would love/would have loved to get a B3, but just couldn't justify it. If I wanted an equivalent to my £10k 335i I'd be spending £20k, which buys me an LCI M3, and while giving pretty much M3 performance, it only seems to come with the ZF6 :(.
Alpina is considered a manufacturer not a tuner hence the lack of bmw branding. Great to see them on the channel 🎉

Alpina base their cars on SE trims as they change suspension so no need to start with MSport stuff when it gets thrown away

main issue is only a 2 liter basically same engine as in the BMW 123d and they all have basic spec which is so annoying, its basically poor mans alpina
An automatic gearbox - brr! ;-) My one is manual. And a coupe. The non-standard-wheels look nice! But don't have the caps.

Too cold for diesel runs, might help if you add cetane booster though. I use it in my vrs. Definitely entering the giveaway...its actually my birthday that day 😉

Did you know that it was Alpina, or the gentleman who owned Alpena, that actually invented the ‘paddle’ concept using buttons which is why they remain buttons

Power is similar to 325d but the M57 engine with 3.0 straight 6 is hard to beat
