Fair play to him affording to kinda keep that on the road at 19, I made the mistake at 24 for a weekend car. 15mpg driving sensibly if your lucky & get smoked by most little hatches. I had the chain issue at 85k, it’s never missed a service, only mod is a stage 1. Cost thousands & EPC has just come back on again at 92k. Things cost me more in a year than my 2015 stage 2 2.0 TDI A5 has is in nearly 5 years & feels barely faster. But… the sound of the v8 will make anyone smile.

I had a manual version of one of these in black a few years ago. Loved it..! It was good on fuel and amazing in the snow, but the only downside was the £600+ in tax. Even the rumble on the standard pipes was good..!👍🏻
Just sold my 2007 manual V8 after 9 months of ownership, lovely cars but eye watering maintenance and repair bills, £660 tax a year and 14mpg around town. I sold it because there are faster more tuneable cars out there that are a fraction of the S5s running costs. It’s a quick car but it doesn’t feel that fast tbh
@@DarkSession6208 thanks for the response - not long after my comment, I ended up with a flat v6 x4M competition. Fast enough and it has a decent petrol consumption on the longer runs - commute from Birmingham to London. But I still have a soft spot for the S5. May go back to Audi after this car.
I absolutely love how the a5/s5 coupe looks… I had the 2.7 v6 diesel remapped to stage 1 was honestly an amazing car but of course ULEZ came along so I brought the A5 3.2 v6 petrol but on 180k miles with no proof of timing chain being done sold it couple months later just incase🤣

I recently bought an S5 B9. 2018, 10k miles. In black. Which tbh for me is the only colour. Obvs it’s the turbo rather than V8. Absolutely love it. Had a S2 map and just front res delete and think they will do me. Drinks fuel, ins and tax high. But doesn’t half put a smile on your face. Plus I just think it’s just such a good looking car.

Had a 2004 S4 avant with the same exhaust setup, mental loud. Watch out for crazy excessive oil usage, mine was using 2 litres per 400-500 miles, boroscope when buying one of these

Well, the young man managed to get himself a V8. The holy grail of car lovers. Every petrol head wants a v8 at some point and he’s managed to achieve that at such an early age. I went from various 4,5 and 6 cylinders before taking the plunge only recently to a 2015 BMW 650 coupe and Im a lot older than he is. Barely get over 25 mph in the city centre and scared of the mpg but the noise and speed is worth every penny. Good luck with your next purchase. Take a look at 6 cylinder BMWs.
I too had one with the Miltek, sounded fantastic but yeh really didn’t feel that quick. For the running costs I was hoping it’d feel a bit quicker and be a bit more fun to drive

Also, V8s imo benefit from an Intake more than a loud exhaust. Much rather a quieter exhaust and a loud intake.
