I'm not japanese, but I lived in Sapporo for a few years when I was young and started school there. I come back to this sometimes to feel like I'm back home. Every time I listen to this song, I think of my first love. We went to Hokkaido in the winter and did a road trip for about a week. It was the best time of my life - traveling with someone I love in a country I love. The scenery of the landscape there was so beautiful - mountains were covered in white snow and alongside the empty highways were pines and firs. I still remember one day that we drove by a ramen store on the top of a snow mountain. I was hungry and she was sleepy, so we decided to park nearby. I then went for lunch and she was sleeping in the car. When I had the hot ramen in the store in the cold weather, I felt so blissful - knowing someone was waiting for me somewhere and I would not be alone when I want. After lunch, I sat at the ramen store for a while to enjoy the peaceful moment, and then she walked in to check if I was ready to leave. When I walked out of the store behind her, I noticed that on the right side of the parking lot, it was the view of the entire skylines of the mountains. It looked so majestic. At that moment, I know where I want to live for life, it is Japan, and in particular, Hokkaido. Now two years have gone by, and she is not around anymore. The last time I saw her was at the airport, being with somebody I don't know for a trip that we booked together. It was kind of heartbroken. Took me two years to again be able to have the courage to search her on Facebook, since I was afraid of seeing her maybe getting married or having a child. Somehow recently, I started to look into the old videos that we took together back in Hokkaido. I guess I still miss her. But with or without her, I still dream to move to Japan. Last year I almost made the decision, but then Covid hit and somehow I ended up in Europe. Life is just full of dramas. Hope that someday in the near future, I will be able to go to that country again and settle down.

We live in a fancy village not that far away from the city, and also far away from the highway where it gets noisy during a traffic. Most houses have only first floor. Ive played this song nonstop for 3 days now. Every time I think I'm good, I come back and give it another listen. It expresses exactly where I'm at with life right now. Time is passing, possibilities are diminishing, still looking for happiness, still feel unsure about everything, like life still makes no sense.
I am not Japanese but I want to visit Japan more than anything else, not for anime, not for cars, nothing of that sort. I find Japanese natural sceneries way too mesmerizing, Hokkaido is the place I am most interested in seeing with my own eyes.

I was in Hokkaido in February. Never went skieing in my life before, so i decided to do it in Japan. Maybe the biggest bonus of all, i met the love of my Life there. If it wasn't for Corona i'd be there now 🥺

This song feels weird because I used to listen to it at a period where I was only in a bed and couldn't move without anybody's assistance. This song was playing on loop along with others and made my illness easier till I recovered. I managed to walk again after a few months of physical therapy, my case is not fully cured but I am happy I can live normally again. This song holds an emotional value to me, more than anything else.
My friend who used to live in Hokkaido introduced me to this song and ever since that I wanted to visit Hokkaido once in my life. And today I’m in Hokkaido, returning back to home tomorrow. I had a fantastic 4 days trip in Hokkaido🥹 even tho it’s autumn now and there’s no snow, it still so beautiful and peaceful 😌 the food, the people and the cities all are amazing! Back in school, when we learned about Japan in Geography and Social Studies, Hokkaido made an impression on me. It seems as if has the most similar weather & climate to my home region in Germany. My notes from 8th grade Geography classes start with: "Hokkaido, the cold North of Japan". Hokkaido is definitely on my bucket list :)
