Jurassic park used to be my favourite movie because of the wonder and awe when I saw a dinosaur look so real, and characters so on point that I never thought that feeling would be repeated. It captured everything in me as I watched it - mind, body and soul. I never thought infinity war would ever fully deliver what marvel had promised. I thought they had over promised and would partially deliver. I was so worried and nervous that this wonderful journey, would end in “a very good attempt” at what they promised. All that worry, nervousness and uneasiness ended when I heard the quote; “Thanos threw a planet at the avengers” ....after I heard that, I didn't even need a trailer, I didn't need anything except a ticket. I forgot how to worry or be sceptical from that moment onwards (I turned into Coy Jandreau - in a good way), and they delivered in ways I didn't even know existed when I saw infinity war. Unfortunately that scepticism and nervousness returned when I saw Multiverse of Madness, and in the past something good always came along to make me forget it again, but the last 2-3 years have been filled with WTF moments, feelings and news. Marvel is slowly mutating into Star wars, lots of promises, little on delivery. There are just better things to watch, better experiences to enjoy and invest time in. I hope I'm wrong and we can reconnect with marvel but the viewer algorithm is different. Fiege has earned the time and space to put things right but I also think it may be time to think of succession plans, maybe to people like the Russos in terms of creative strategy and add a corporate team to deal with the business side of things, like Peter Safran and James Gunn at DC.🤷🏾♂️
I agreed with mike about last few episodes of the boys being rocky….but I LOVED this last episode….not a super strong finale, finale….still was DOPE….darkest timeline

The Marvel panel at SDCC is unlikely to focus on any Disney+ content, rumors say it’ll focus on movies and that D23 will focus on Disney+ stuff… I’m excited about the Russo’s coming back, I think Marvel has been working hard to right the ship since Chapek got let go but the stuff we’ve gotten were still the remnants of Chapek’s failed reign so I’ll hold judgement until next year’s Captain America 4 because that movie was reworked after Chapek’s exit and I think that film, along with Thunderbolts will be the true measuring stick on of Marvel will be able to right the ship since I think “Deadpool and Wolverine” was kinda made away from all that chaos.
I'm not as worried about the Russos being able to create a cohesive story with all these elements they didn't personally have a hand in planting. There were plenty of "first meetings" in InfinityGame: Thor first meeting Guardians, Tony meeting Strange, etc. Russos handled those well and created connections efficiently and with lasting meaning. They'll do fine with the roster they have to play with.

The DP 3 trailer was mostly recycled footage just from different angles. The only new stuff was that one shot of Cassandra Nova and X-23. **Shot where wolverine&deadpool return home to blind Al was in a previous TV spot Nothing to worry about.

I think this video was made before Feige's statements, but he has already confirmed that not all the new characters introduced in phase 4 will appear. That tells me that just like IW and Endgame, not all of the plot lines that Marvel established will continue, only the most important and relevant ones. Let's remember how the gotg 2 post credit never had a payoff until just last year. And I think it's the best, it may look bad, but if the movie is good, everyone will forgive them for that, who doesn't love a winner? Sean Chandler made a video with good arguments about the return of the Russos, you did too. In the end, whether you see this with cynicism or analysis, in the end you just have to trust that everything will turn out well, that can be difficult if you have lost faith in Marvel, but it is what it is. Remember, that the guy from Haunted Mansion knew he was fired off of Lando, but claimed he found out thru social media. And how many studio announce when they've let a writer go? It's not that often. But your point that they may still use elements of his script is very possible. He might not get the WGA credit for it though depending on what they negotiate.

Great discussion, I am concerned with these future Avenger films…who is the team? Who is the believable leader of these AVENGERS? Who is the villains that is really a big enough threat and then a believable conclusion…I am concerned with how these films will lead to Secret Wars, do we have enough AVENGERS that the audience care to see and root for in a 2 hr movie? These DISNEY+ shows don’t seem to lead audiences to want to see the characters from these shows in features…

If this was DC I could understand they haven't gotten anything going since the DCEU began in 2013. 10 years later, they're still trying to get something going. Kevin Feige has heard fan complaints and unlike Kathleen Kennedy, has begun "righting the ship". Some MCU fans are still complaining. The fact that the Russo brothers haven't had a "hit" outside of the MCU is inconsequential. By the way they wrote extraction one and two which is a huge hit for Netflix, So it's clear they still have it in them. Also when the Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige are together they make magic. We saw the magic happen in four different MCU movies. And secret wars promises to be a huge cast And we've already seen that they can handle a big cast. Marvel is cooking. Let them cook.

I just don’t want to hear the MCU formula is predictable ever again. In phases 1,2 and 3 the general audience complain about it just being set-up movies and predictable plot points. Phases 4 and 5 is their most creativity and unpredictable phases ever. The MCU formula won’t help marvel being at the top for the next 20-30 years 💯

I actually think the discussion of the first few phases of the MCU is being viewed through rose-colored glasses bc the Infinity Saga ended so strongly. Idk when the last time y'all watched the MCU thru but I did in 2020 when I wasn't going anywhere and the MCU was NOT firing on all cylinders in Phases 1 and 2. Thor dark world is fine but not great. Same for Age of Ultron which imo gets more hate than it deserves. The iron man sequels are unwatchable messes. All of those look like peak cinema when compared to the Incredible Hulk which is so bad people just routinely forget it exists in the MCU. Avengers is the only truly great film in Phase 1. Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are the only truly great films in phase 2. The MCU only started firing on all cylinders in Phase 3. And then they wrapped up the stories they were telling. Phases 4 and 5 and are setting up in a very similar way to phases 1 and 2. Phases 4 and 5 have No Way Home and Guardians 3 which many folks adore and consider great, along with Wanda Vision, Loki, and Ms Marvel. The MCU isn't actually that far off in batting average for phases 4 and 5 than is was in 1 and 2. It's just that phase 3 has so many home runs that is seems like marvel and the fans think anything less than a home run is a failure. But the success of phase 3 was built off the base hits in phase 1 and 2. There are enough base hits in phases 4 and 5 to set us up for some really incredible stuff going forward. If you read this wall of text, thank you. Tldr: the MCU phases 4 and 5 are actually on par with phases 1 and 2, we just forget how much trash was in those first few phases
