I saw a theory suggesting that Sage is really Queen Maeve's ally, as indicated by multiple shots of her notebook. This should play a role eventually. There is also another theory that Sage put something in Firecracker's medicine, which made her sick. This also contaminates Homelander's milk, all part of Sage's plan. I wouldn't hate it if this is true, as I like the message of brains over brawn.
Personally, I am hoping Sage "wins" in the end and that her goals ultimately align with the boys'. Any time a character is supposed to be super intelligent, it opens the door for fans to notice plot holes if they fail.
I feel like the best way possible is to make Sister Sage more like an agent of chaos. Cause her statement towards Homelander about why she did all of this scheming was to just see if she could, is very in line with her sociopathic personality. I believe Sister Sage will simply end her arc when Homelander realises near the end that Sister Sage screwed him over, as there is no way in hell she was ever going to hand the position of presidential power to Homelander, whose pretty much a man child that she got frustrated with a couple times. She's probably going to sabotage Homelander in a way that he only realises when he is about to be taken down as an antagonist, that Sister Sage had screwed him over. Then Ryan would do the finishing blow.
@@coconuts7960 That is a moot point because that could be true regardless of her intentions. Hughie would've NEVER consented otherwise. Yet, it was played off like it was nothing lol. Starlight didn't even try to show an ounce of care in that moment. Kinda wild. But the narrative has to shift on her SA. That is what Season 4 was and IS all about. A twisted narrative.
grace shouldn’t have been trying to lock ryan up the way she did, they drop hella knowledge on him that genuinely blows his mind then he find out that the room is literally a trap and not even from them there was lack of honesty and communication, we can still pour one out for her but she did it to herself tbh
You can't just let Ryan leave and risk him going full Homelander. I think a tracker would have been a better plan than trying to trap. I hope none of you people who think she should just let Ryan walk away are never responsible for anything more than your own security. You clearly don't understand how terrible people truly are
What Butcher did to Neuman was tragic for all the right reasons. It was sad for her but Butcher as well. Fell back into the cycle he wanted to escape because he realized what Ryan is becoming.
I support Butcher's decision to end Neuman, she wanted an easy way out and he wasn't having none of it considering what she did. You might hate Butcher but can't deny he is a necessary evil
@@nosakhareanthony97yea no he literally did what sage wanted, butcher is taking the easy way out aswell by letting his tumor take control, him killing neuman without even listening to what was going on was dumb because it played into sages plan.
I noticed a supernatural reference when singer missed his shot playing golf in the bunker and he says "balls". That was his supernatural character's catchphrase
Can we all just talk about how real the Supes made it for The Boys this season? Deep and Noir showing up to their secret hideout like it was nothing in broad daylight, and how FAST they tracked down all of them at the end. With the gloves finally off it almost feels like a wrap 😂
When sister Sage left her book at Homelanders place and ended up picking it up at the end of the season does that mean that if Homelander opened up that book and read what was going on he would’ve known what the plan was?
@@Mukduck619 if that was the case then I'd think her head woulda exploded when she took v, what I thinks gonna happen is she's gonna have a battle of wits with sage, like I'm telling ya whatever her name is gonna be the true mvp and be the ONLY REASON sage and her band of psychopaths wont win, too bad she ugly asf now tho lmao
This finale was insane, one of if not the best episode in the series. Just one thing tho, they made Ryan’s character kinda inconsistent like one minute he’s crying cus he killed someone, then speaks up on live TV but now he kills Grace Mallory and shows no remorse? Not sure where they’re taking the character but it should’ve been done smoother
Ryan is a child. Have you ever lived with one? Crazy you think he's being unrealistic. He is a child, and again, has a lot of conflicting voices talking to him. He doesn't WANT his dad to be the bad guy. You can't blame him for holding onto hope. There is a lot going on in this kids head.
I was so blown away, I don't know what to comment on. So I made my own list. 10. RIP Victoria Neumann 9. Sage orchestration! 8. Pour one out for Grace Mallory 7. Ashley?! 6. "Murder Boner" 5. Mother Milk's worst nightmare 4. "Idjit" 3. "The Female of the Species" speaks! 2. Billy "Venom" Butcher! 1. Soldier Boy is back!!!
@TheQuietGamerN7 yes, I was pissed when they showed Soldier Boy instead of Ashley. My wife went wtf, I hadn't said anything throughout the episode even though I almost did several times but then at the end I yelled what the fuck, Soldier Boy? I want to see Ashley!
They held him down on the bathroom floor, so I'm sure you know what happened next. His trauma is going to be off the charts next season with those panic attacks, lmao.
Would be a much better season if Sage and Homelander took over government early. And with Sage being smartest person in the world improve the worlds dramatically, but Boys decide to kill Sups anyway with Virus in Season 5 when they realize humans are replaceable.
@@Brandonweifu I think “filler” is the wrong word here. Things did happen in this season but it didn’t feel like there was ever any true danger for the Boys themselves. And certain character arcs like with Starlight and Frenchie are questionable at best. I think it needed more time to flesh out. But I do agree with you about building up to season 5. And it can’t come soon enough
No...Sage coming in at the last second to say oh no this was all part of the plan does not make her better. Its lazy and dismissive. Its also annoying that they put blame on Hughie when he was prob the biggest victim
SOLDIER BOY! I rewatched Season 3 the other day, and Soldier Boy was undoubtedly the best part of it. Season 4 isn't terrible, but Soldier Boy became my favorite character of the show in Season 3, and Season 4 just feels too different without him. Heck, I was cheering for Soldier Boy at the end of Season 3. Homelander's plot armor is the only reason Butcher turned on Soldier Boy. Jensen needs to come back in Season 5. I'd even argue that he could carry his own show. If you've watched Supernatural, you would know that he carried that show.
How poetic would it be if Soldier Boy and Ryan teamed up to kill Homelander. His family, the one thing he desperately wanted, leads to his demise. The irony would be comical
Oh nah soldier boy hates ryan.when he gets to k ow him,he's gonna be a typical.boomer and probly drop the confirmation about whay his dad did to his mom
For real. Starlight has one of the top 3-5 strongest supe abilities in the series. Now that she has gotten over her moral superiority complex, hopefully she is able to uncap her full potential.
We’re potentially will have JDM, Jensen Ackles, Robert Singer and Jared all being in season 5! All they need is the impala, Cass & Crowley & we’ve got the whole fam.
This wasn’t Sage’s original plan path. Just the plan goal. She has so many different contingencies to get to the end goal (putting homelander in that position of power) that if one path fails it just switches to another.
Yeah I think so too, there was no way she could have predicted all that. The plan also only worked because butcher decided to kill neuman. I dont think she could have predicted this. Although as an alternative, homelander could have probably killed her and then they could have framed the president.
I'm surprised actually, wasn't he present in the Herogasm episode? I assume back then he like most Supes there got his V fried up by Soldier Boy explosion
I caught the parallel of Ryan’s flee from being held by Grace &Co with HL’s episode of his confinement as a youth. Very similar feel but Ryan’s leveling up by escaping vs. HL belief he could do nothing yet had the power too. And a Q- why was Firecracker DYING then comes back with rhetoric news in the last scene looking healthy? Not even a fake makeup cover up. Thank for these. You do a great job and your work (or your Minion’s) shows.
He's probably going to continue what he started once he get out of that chamber, homelander's definitely wake Soldier boy up or he'll just keep him there and visit time to time like what he did in the past seasons when he visited Ryan
The way they did the Annie vs Annie scene with the mirror. Bravo! Haven't seen it done like that before. Very creative while also making minimal use of both faces being on screen at the same time. Saves time in post.
Sam and Cate remind me of android 16 & 18. I didn't say 17 because 17 like to trash talk and kind of a jerk, while Sam looks like he just wanted to see birds and kill Goku.
Soldier boy at the end is amazing. So many parts of this episode were perfect, frenchie and kimikyo *finally*, shape-shifting Annie and real Annie going badass. The cracks in homelander breaking through. Ryan accidentally killing another woman he loves. Where does it leave us all?? Love your break down videos Charlie!
Pretty sure Ashley is gonna get some kind of super intelligence to help the Boys fight against Sage’s plans. She’s gonna look like MegaMind in the process though 😂
Man season 4 is like bizarro season 3. S3 having back-to-back amazing episodes that got ruined by the finale, to S4 having too many mid episodes that got saved by this finale. Hope season 5 will be an epic return to form.
I think Ashley's new powers will end up being like Sage's power where she's just super smart now. But since she's also supposed to be a darkly comedic character I think it would be funny if she becomes almost like a MODOK parody where she has a giant head and sits in a big wheel chair or something. She may even end up helping the boys almost how A-Train did or even interacting with A-Train directly just because of how much she hates Homelander and Vought at this point.
@@MrXav94 That is interesting but I doubt they'll make her character out to be cool or actually powerful. From what I gather she's almost meant to be a comedic and almost tragic character, it may even be that it isn't clear she actually got powers at all and its played as more of a joke. I'm not sure that's just my reading on it.
9:35 I think homelander is simply just middle-aged. Like 40-50 years old because of Dr. Vogelbaum's involvement with him in seasons 1 & 2, Soldier Boy even gave a timeline as to when he gave Vought his... DNA, and lastly it wouldn't make sense to his first chronological appearance in The Boys: Diabolical when he met and fought the OG Black Noir
Yea V seems to affect longevity in completely different ways depending on who’s taking it and how. Most are still comparable to normal people but a few like Stormfront or Solder boy have additional enhanced longevity for whatever reason. Between that and the ability for V to casually get people out of comas (disregarding side effects) it makes you wonder what The Boys universe might look like if the various effects of V (like enhanced longevity) could be isolated and controlled.
@@Numbers-gStands so the Boys explained this Stormfront and Soldier Boy both took origina compound v like the very first components and this gave him captain america similar aging he's a boomer and does not age just like stormfront
8:04 I think it’s partly that but I think it’s actually the biological drive for the parasite’s need to kill supes (fulfill its purpose). We know the parasite is basically like the virus so it’s a natural mutation that happened in Bucther as opposed to a lab, we know what was the end state of the virus (remember the rabbit)
A missed easter egg too was during the credits at the end of the episode, at some point they play a little section of the Avengers theme song but in a haunting detuned and distorted way.
It’s super high budget and effort show. I’d understand if you were complaining about Riverdale or something. Do we want another Game Of Thrones situation?
@Mukduck619 dude we used to get well written, acted and produced shows with 20+ episodes a season. I'm sick of this ten or less episodes a season crap with a several year wait between seasons.
Great finale to wrap up the season!! Two of my favorite easter eggs in the episode you didnt mention is Robert Singer saying "idgit," like his Bobby character in Supernatural would often say, and I don't know if its just me but when Homelander was seeing Soldier Boy's body, the score behind him sounded like a eerie version of the Avengers theme song, dark and twisted in The Boys fashion. Would make sense since he's the darker version of Captain America.
30:27 This is a classic Supernatural gag/trope by the way, where Sam and Dean Winchester would use the names of Rock Stars as covers whenever they impersonated federal agents while on their typical hunts. 😂
Kimiko speaking was amazing- great acting. I love JDMs portrayal also, it feels like he's channeling Negans original slick, manipulative energy, love it. The tax writeoff joke was hilarious and such a stab at DC/WB. I really hope Misha Collins also makes an appearance somehow, that would make the full supernatural circle for me. Also the Bobby lines "idiot" and "balls" Singer has in this ep were amazing. Great homage.
Literally the whole episode was a wtf, but the best moment that I've seen on TV in a long time, movie or show, is when Frenchie gets picked up and Kimiko starts yelling no....just, like 😭😭😭 he's what broke her silence and that's so wholesome
The “Supes Live Matter” thing isn’t a parody of Black Lives Matter, it’s a parody (or more a direct mocking) of All Lives Matter. The whole point is that All Lives Matter is stupid because yeah, obviously all lives matter, but Black Lives Matter is specifically talking about violence against black people, not about literally saying that just black lives matter specifically.
i'm pretty sure it will still be stan edgar's win. When there are no more people stands up to him, his psyche can't take it. This is why HL can't kill the boys because he needs villain to fight to.
1. I was almost certain that Victoria Neuman was still alive... Since Anne had choked out the shapeshifter and she/he wasn't killed in a typical "Boys" way. I assumed that she was still alive and posing as Victoria to infiltrate The Boys again. I think she still could be alive because she died way too quickly for a character that's been around for this long. 2. The president calls them "idgits" like his character on Supernatural. 3. I almost thought that Sage was infecting Firecracker and using her milk to infect Homelander. That maybe her sickness was something else besides her medication. Remember how Sage said she came up with a cure for her grandmother when she was a child. It might not be too difficult for her as an adult to engineer another virus that effects Supes. We know that there's another level to her plans. She has reasons to hurt people, not help Homelander, and she also doesn't like Firecracker.
I’m a bit on the fence about the first point; on one hand I feel like Victoria got taken care of really quickly and I could definitely see that being a shifter for her to come back to be president at the end of the show. On the other hand, I feel like her being dead is gonna show some really interesting story development for Stan Edgar, Zoe, and Zoe’s dad. But I was thinking the same exact thing about Sage! I definitely think she did something intentionally by giving harmful medication to Firecracker. Either by trying to get Homelander sick through the milk or cripple him some way by killing off Firecracker.
That's a good point about the virus! If she's the smartest on the planet, who is to say she couldn't also reverse engineer a supe virus? I have a feeling that Sage will be very pivotal to how the final season will end up going.

Not sure where they’re taking the character but it should’ve been done smoother
he is becoming trumatized its not incosistance its a symptom and also he is growing up of course as a child he was kinder haha

I read a theory that she will be a Medusa type power. I like that better than just being super smart tbh.

Yeah Homelander living hundreds of years is a stretch. Maybe 150 or so years. He probably doesn't get sick but his body is still aging.

It's actually a parody of Blue Lives Matter, because this show is all about commentary on policing.
i'm pretty sure it will still be stan edgar's win. When there are no more people stands up to him, his psyche can't take it. This is why HL can't kill the boys because he needs villain to fight to.

I'm actually so pissed they didn't show us what Ashley turned into. Great ending though but man it's gonna bug me not knowing and having to wait
Expect her to be a version of brainiac 😂
IDJIT !! BALLS!! 😂😂 my favorite moment. I love the supernatural callbacks
