Wow man I thought I was suppose to put that tiny clip back with both cables... you just made my day now I will just use the white clip with both cables together? No tiny clip on both cables?
Yeah so I was unfortunate enough to lose the little metal clip while disassembling.... do you have any idea if the GM dealers would have oem clips? I bought some c clips that looked similar but none of them fit, I will try again after work. Just figured I'd ask. I'm starting to feel like it's one of those parts where you are screwed if you lose it. Might have to scavenge a junkyard later.
Sounds like you will need to adjust your cable. Make sure the shifter is in park, and that the transmission is in park when you adjust it and re connect both cables.
So the deal is you're not supposed to take the clip out it's a one-time install. That's the trick. Realize the clip is dumb, buy the upper cable for $50 and it takes 5 minutes
Thanks for the warning about the e ring.
You bet
Do I put the bronze little clip first in the slot and the push the cable in? Or do i put the two cable together and then push the clip into the slot?
I think you put the clip back in first, but I'm not 100% certain.

I would put it back together how it was, just to be safe
@@ZBvids I got it! I'm rolling around perfectly and shifting tightly now.... thank you!
Awesome! I'm happy it helped
What about the little metal clip?
If you need to take the clip off, make sure you put it back on.
Do I put the bronze clip back in or like what do I do clip is not going into the slot it needs to and I’ve already am now on my second cable
As long as you make sure its on correctly before you connect the 2 parts you should not have to take it apart to remove the clip.
At what point do you put the little spring clip back in?
Before you put the 2 peices back together. The clip "locks" them together
@@ZBvids Thanks

I do not know, sorry.
No they don't sell the clip. They sell the entire cable because they're assholes
Do you remember the part number or how you chose?
Nah, sorry I work at a shop, the service writers order everything. Just shopped by the year, make and model.
Mine won’t go u to first after install it will go PRND32 but not 1 ? What did I do wrong

Im having a ton of trouble putting the clip on the new cable.
Sorry to hear that, the clip is more difficult than it needs be
You didn’t put the clip back on? Shit I just tried to do it and mine would shift and then I guess idk what but it would be free shifter handle
I was showing on the old cable, sorry. You'd want to put the clip back on

Yup, or jist the lower, depending on which end is broken.
What you did wrong was call that a throttle cable in the very beginning of your video... that's a shift linkage cable not a throttle cable
Yeah, I think I realized that as I said it, but I have not given any time in learning how to edit my videos yet. But the title is right.
That is the same cable that's in my 2004 yukon. A PITA to get the white plastic U clip that locks it in place to engage. Was a real pain.
