Hey Ryan.
A thought on home charger install.
Talk to the landlord and see if ok to help with cost of install of a 32amp pin style,single phase I assume, outlet(it’s handy for many uses not just a home charger.
That way you can save some $$$ on install as normally cheaper than a ev charger install, and landlord might meet you half way or all of the cost.
Then can buy a 32amp pin tail for the UMC (which is handy to have anyway for road trips) and plug in that way for around 7kw via UMC.
That way keep wall charger for where you end up.

FYI Ryan, OVO Energy and AGL EV plans are better at 8c overnight. Why? Simply Energy EV plan is 6c ‘discount’, so 6c off your normal overnight rate. It’s worded in a somewhat misleading way, sadly.
Oh wow, I just checked this after seeing your comment and it appears you are correct !! 😱 I've just contacted them to confirm what my rates are. I may be changing providers now 😂 Thanks so much for letting me know.

agree! Also I did an analysis on AGL vs OVO since my peak rate is much higher with OVO than AGL. OVO came out to be $8 cheaper still due to higher FIT rate. (28day period analysis)
I checked them out but their peak rate was very high
@@normdouglas I calculated my usage from the last 12 months and the OVO rates worked out better than the new updated Simply rates and a little higher than the old Simply rates. I have solar so that’ll help with day usage.
Very interesting Ryan! Amazing video as always! Grand parents are overseas atm, but once they get back its all Tesla. I would have advised them buying enhanced or fsd, but lately I've been thinking to leave it off. It will be a huge transition, as well as a lot of money. I think the go is to leave it for some time, before possibly buying the new monthly subscription to give it a go. They will definitely have to get premium connectivity.

Long time listener first time caller - I believe the simply energy plan is a 6c “discount” - we were on it and moved to OVO when we found that out. Love the vids!

I recently switched from simply to ovo energy, their super off peak rate is 10c, overall very competitive rates after the recent rates hike from Simply energy @@RyanCowan

Loved the little Vlog, if you ask me there’s there’s still not much improvement except for in parallel parking where it seems to be a lot more confident. How’s being content full-time going?
Totally agree, hopefully big improvements to Auto Park coming soon. Full-time has been good, and also challenging. Trying to apply a bit more strategy to the way I work moving forward, for example focusing on bigger / more exciting videos, rather than small ones (like this vlog). If I can do 1 video a month that gets a heap more views that will mean better revenue. Also need to make the time to work with sponsors and brands. It feels like a balancing act 😂 and then there's tiktok !
@@RyanCowan glad to hear that your enjoying it and figuring things out. Are you looking at tiktok as a bigger place to grow than UA-cam? Because obviously UA-cam will offer more revenue but will also require more work for a longer structured video. Although it’s great you can post the same video as a short and a TikTok and a reel which can make it easier. Focusing on strategy is hard also for UA-cam long form finding a hook and what will make the viewer want to watch until the end of the video. Like you do with the (coming up) at the start of the videos which I think is a great idea giving the viewer a preview of why they should continue watching the video.

But yeah seeing as most of the money comes from UA-cam (even though long form requires much more creative effort and editing) I'm just now trying to plan out video ideas that are more engaging-and thinking of thumbnail and title first, exactly like you said "why would someone click on this and what will keep them watching"@@techreview8661
@@RyanCowan yeah and I think you’re doing a really good job at your thumbnails at the moment and getting there with the hook at the start of the video and why people are going to watch the end. I know you have heaps of followers on TikTok But it’s really not helping with revenue like UA-cam is. Anyways, keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got next

I found the auto park in my Ranger was way better than the Tesla. Everything else about Tesla is way way better than my 2019 Ranger was.

How much do you recharge over the 6 hours ?
Daily top up for daily drives should work ???
Normally does 20% within the 6hrs. Daily top up normally works, however we do go up and back to Melbourne sometimes.

Most vehicles are parked 23hrs a day, yes .
Have the same issue with sentry mode often recording me returning to the car. What can I say, the camera loves me. 😜

@@georgebarc - yeah it's too slow and makes more moves than necessary, but I've gotten spoilt by it. So long as I don't have a line of people waiting for me to park, I let the car do the work. It's only curbed my wheels twice in the last couple of years of using it. Thanks Elon.
My MYLR (Canada) has EAP but Summon & Autopark are disabled/not available. How do you have it or is it just available in Aus?
That's strange, have you gone into the settings and turned them on?
@@RyanCowan not sure which part of the settings I would go in to, to turn it ON. I figured it would be turned ON by default. I’ve never seen any Autopark or Summon related toggles within settings.
You can find EAP and Summon settings under 'Autopilot' within the car@@chinuchrispaull6264

Great vid guys! 👍 Yeah, I had AAP last December when Tesla gave it to us for a Christmas present 🎁 I tried summons and parking and wasn’t impressed. So slow and awkward! Like a learner driver. No way I’d pay for it. Or FSD for that matter.

@@RyanCowanOVO is offering 8c/kWh. The peak hour rate is higher than non-EV plan though. For people who have solar battery, that would be the best deal by configuring the battery to suck up the power overnight and discharge during daytime.

No, not yet. But I believe it will be soon once they improve Autopark and Summon
Instead of installing a wall charger at your rental, install a 15A socket which is 3.3kW to 3.6kW and cheaper.

Gotta say, just like you guys, I’m not impressed with Enhanced Autopilot. Although the technology seems great, it’s missing the mark. Hopefully it’ll improve overtime

Yes, Tesla's autopark is one of the worst. Tesla should do better than this. Its almost as if no effort is being put into it due to development of FSD.

The irony is not lost on millions of tesla drivers that FSD 12 has hit prime time but parking between two white lines or wiping water of the windscreen - hell no, too complicated. Wow the auto park is complete utter shit, fascinating for a product that supposedly has good software...cheaper car models will auto park in 3 seconds, it's a simple car feature nowadays, I'm not buying this if that's how it works now
Autopark should hopefully get better this year, but if you get a chance to test drive a Tesla. you'll see how amazing the rest of the software is. Best car we've ever owned
