I am super impressed with you! I love your tips about changing your devices to Spanish, watching movies in Spanish, and reading books in Spanish. Wherever you live in the U.S., your local library likely has a lot of these resources for free. I love your ideas about how to connect to native speakers and do language exchanges. This is probably a little too immersive for me with grad school coming up, but I may try to teach myself this way after I finish grad school. Thanks so much for the tips!
I love English. Ever since I was 16 I started Googling every single thing in English, and honestly, I still do it to this day; youtube videos, research on the internet, etc. When it comes to shows or movies. The first time I watch them I do it for entertainment, then I watch them a second time for learning purposes without the hype. That way I can focus on learning instead of getting immersed in the show. Also, the way I learn something new that I don't understand is "context> definition/images> translation". It works like magic. That way I train myself to understand the context first, and sometimes I can make a pretty accurate guess of the meaning of something that I've never heard before. However, this works best depending on your level. I also recommend handwriting, not typing, HANDWRITING. Writing words and phrases helps our brain retain information. Your memory and skill in your target language will slowly deteriorate (just in little details) if you just "type" all the time. I know cause it has happened to me with English.
I too am the only one in family that speaks spanglish.😂 But I'm wanting to become more fluent. I watch Telenovelas without the English subtitles and listen to reggaeton but I never thought about changing my electronic devices to spainsh. Thank you! ❤🥰

I have started and stopped my spanish learning journey soooo many times! I told myself that now that I'm back in korea that I would try to pick it back up again because of all the free time I have. Just 3 months ago I stopped again . . But im going to try to pic it back up

I don’t know why it’s harder for me to learn Spanish than it is when I learned Korean 😭. It’s weird because Spanish should be easier for me since I speak Tagalog. My husband is Mexican and speaks fluent Spanish, along with his family. I recently got to meet a part of his family and a lot of them don’t speak English and I want to be able to speak with them or understand them, laugh with them and etc. After that, I’ve been feeling motivated to learn Spanish more. I’ve studied 2 years of Spanish in high school and then 1 semester class of Spanish in college but I forgot a lot tbh. Even English is lowkey complicated for me and that’s my first language ☠️ LOL Anyways, I can understand a bit, but I can’t speak very good, like I understand basic stuff. I just don’t know where to starttt... I also feel discouraged sometimes when I try to speak Spanish because I’m embarrassed I don’t sound good or sound stupid. I have social anxiety so it’s alotttt harder for me to not think that people aren’t making fun of me.

Follow this syllabus. It's great. And don't be afraid of mistakes. You have to realize that no one is perfect at spanish. Even native speakers make mistakes. It's ok as long as you are progressing. Languagecoursesuk.co.uk/course-outlines/spanish-course-outline/
@@ming7099 Make the mistakes Ming. Practice with your husband. When your confidence and bilingual skills pick up then speak with people from other Latin American countries. You'll see the differences in one country's accent, slang and pronunciations versus another person who's from somewhere else. Buena suerte.
Hi👋I'm a Spanish native speaker and I make a lot of mistakes everyday... Sometimes anxiety makes me think that even speaking my native language I'm not good enough 😂😂. Keep in check your thoughts related to anxiety!! How? Look for CBT it helps so much with our distorted automatic thoughts. If you start managing your anxiety slowly you will increase your confidence making mistakes and then start seeing them as necessary for learning and not a prove of failure. You got it 😊😊
Same here. My husband is Hispanic and none of his family speaks English. They always try to talk to me but i can never find the right words to conversate with them . I understand way more than I can speak but I'm ALWAYS afraid to speak and make mistakes. 😒
Thanks for the inspiration, I am a 50 year old guy trying to learn Spanish. My family and friends don't understand why I'm doing it but I'm sure you understand the reasons.
Me disfrute tu video.
I love your videos so much! I’m scared to change my phone to Spanish tho 😭 I feel like I won’t be able to figure out how to change it back..... I guess that’s the point LOL
Sus W, hello there... well I have two iPhones, both are same model but different year, I bought one as brand new and the other was a used one. I mirrored the second one to the original and (after fixing very few details) ended up with to identical smartphones. Although I do this way for convenience (so I can use one while the other is charging and also when getting out I carry the used one) I think you can do the same but with one in Spanish and the other in English... or you might devote one to only Spanish (I mean everything) and the other to just English... anyway some Apps will be the same in both devices like Photos.

I'm from New York City (born and raised; no longer living there, though) and you speak Spanish with a Caribbean accent; you definitely have the rhythm of those from the Spanish-speaking Carribbean. I can tell 'cause I grew up around a lot of PRs, and had close friends who were Cuban, and knew a few Dominicans. I do not speak Spanish, but I can tell the accents of those who speak it from different countries. Anyhoo, I'm commenting, because I've watched a few of your videos [today], and pretty much all of your advice in regard to learning Spanish can be applied to learning other languages, too. Great advice you’ve given! I’ve been a student of language since I was a child and I do all the things you’ve mentioned. I really like Verbling app. I found a few tutors i like on there that can assist me with my medical terminology and use of it- as I’m studying to be a spanish medical interpreter. 💕 básicamente soy tu hermana 💁🏾♀️
¡Excelente!
OOOOOH man that accent is on point! I even thought you were latino until you said you're American lol And yeah! Duolingo can indeed help if you know it's just a complement of your learning ya tu sabe

+Jc Gutierrez If you are afraid, don't do it, better when you are fluent. Spend your time with hearing the language more than reading Spanish computer text settings.
Same
When he said change your phone settings to Spanish I almost did it. Then I thought, how am I going to turn it back to English if I can't read the Spanish on my phone? I don't know the word for "Settings" in Español.
Its sick, I did it when he said it its dificulta but it is worth it
Candis screen shots in English the steps lol I did it with arabic so I didn’t get lost trying to turn it back

I learnt English by 1-having a great middle school teacher and 2-having watched The Lord of the Rings 100+ times.
Now I'm learning Spanish and your switching between the two is confusing the hell out of me :D Anyway, subscribed and glad that the UA-cam algorithm found you!
I find my self speaking spanglish I have confused my Spanish and Portuguese but i love your vlogs great work, amazing encouragement keep sharing
Hey love!
I am learning both at the same time and it seems I am doing this. Do you have any tips or tricks?
I am also looking for partners to speak with are you open to that?
I'm from Brazil and i gonna follow your channel to get tips to learn Spanish while i practice English Listening at the same time!
It’s not perfect but hey I’m learning. There’s more to life outside of the SouthSide of Chicago!!✊🏽 🇨🇺
Thank you!
❤🥰
You really seem fluent!! My families from Spain and Mexico and I cant speak spanish, only tex mex!!!
Post it notes make me think of The Color Purple when Nettie was trying to teach Cecily how to read
😂
Estoy usando Pimsleur y el libro Madrigal’s Magic Key To Spanish.
I have started and stopped my spanish learning journey soooo many times! I told myself that now that I'm back in korea that I would try to pick it back up again because of all the free time I have. Just 3 months ago I stopped again . . But im going to try to pic it back up
You’re amazing. That’s all. #Goals
Gracias!
@ Is there another language you'd like to add to yourself?

Bilingue Blogs Thank you sm (:

Make the mistakes Ming.
6:21 - I agree with this take, but some people definitely do talk fast, In English too.
When I first started learning Spanish I watched only Spanish television shows for two years. No English. Same thing with Spanish radio.
This man is speaking straight FAX

Me gusto tus videos.
Intiendo Los Mexicanos.
hola! gracias.. yo soy estudiar espanol de Duolingo... its true that its difficult to use spanish while communicating. your video really helped me to understand what things need to be done to know this language thoroughly. Thanks!
Just changed my phone, damn how I took the icons for granted. This will take some getting used to.
J'apprends a parler francais = I am learning to speak French.
So, I want to say "muchas gracias".
They're not talking to fast...you're listening to slow😂
Gritty Spanish is great for Comprehension as well
¡Muchas gracias for este video!

My bathroom is my classroom. Post-it notes ALL over the bathroom walls and mirror. Whether I'm brushing my teeth or "releasing water", I am learning. Saying words out loud and forming a sentence with them.
Damn you're Dominican idc what you say 😂😂

What!??
😂😂😂
RIGHT!
Hi, so helpful to hear it put straight forward. No shortcuts. A lot of hard work. I kust joined preply app and got a tutor, and these tips will help as well. Thanks so much !
I’ve been to Cuba two times now and I made a friend there so now we message each other on fb. I’ve made my keyboard español y use it a lot.
