I just graduated college this year and also got my CCNA. I am gunning for the CCNP, but I would want to gain experience first (as of now, I am still job hunting). And I highly agree with Top 7. For me, it does feel "old" reviewing for CCNP ENCOR + ENARSI. From what I have observed, the trend nowadays is either cybersecurity or automation, and we are moving further away from traditional networking, which is why I am gunning for the CCNP Security SCOR + SAUTO. But no rush ofc. Taking CCNP immediately would feel premature for my case, but I do plan to take it around 2025. Leading up to there, I would study other cert topics first (such as CompTIA Security+) but won't take the exam. And thanks for the video. There are a lot of stuff in this video that gave me more insight on what is to come in the industry (as someone with little-to-no experience).
Wow!!! I have been looking for a video like this. Thanks a lot, Dean, definitely putting on notifications. I am about to start my CCNP journey and needed clarity on the path to take. Thanks to your video and my boss I will be embarking on the SCOR path (...yet to pick a specialty though). I did love routing and switching back during my CCNA🥲
Hello Sir Dean, what would you prefer to get or having next after getting CCNP Security certificate? Do you have recommendation what is the best partner in any ccnp certs to ccnp security?
Thank you, Dean, very nice explanation. I currently have CCNP EI and Sec. I had to go through 4 rigorous exams before I got my CCNP Sec. Thank God it's getting "easier" right now because you can choose what topic interests you and move on. I have questions because my CCNPs will get expired, I'm planning to get a Cyber Ops Professional cert or DevNet Professional to extend my P certifications. Can my CCNPs get extended after I get either CYBROPS or DevNet Professional cert?
Hi! Thanks for the nice words! Yep, its getting easier! Yes, any professional level exam will renew both Professional and Associate level certs. Taking COR exams will renew even CCIE certs. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the support man! But a Million is too much for 1 year old channel. Stay tuned for more quality videos. And feel free to suggest more topics.
Dean, do you know how long it will take before you receive the CCNP Enterprise cert after passing the second exam? I passed encor last week and have the tshoot (before it was replaced by ENARSI). I passed encor before my tshoot got expired. However, i still do not have my CCNP Enterprise cert.
.... Don't go cyber sec if you don't know well your Systems (AD, DOmain controllers, NPS, server roles and features, group policies etc), you Networking ,(CCNA level), Virtualization (VmWare, ProxMox, Nutanix, HyperV etc.) I have multiple CoWorkers finished cyber sec boot camps with bachelor degrees, that have little to no experience of networking, systems and virtualization.... And want to be be cyber sec... How do you protect something that you don't know how it works ????? Now they are stuck relearning the fundamentals.....
Thank you for the video! One question: isn't it true that if I first study the CCNP Enterprise (and learn enough to pass the actual exam), then learning all of the concepts of all other tracks is going to be easier? So won't I get a deeper understanding and an easier path to knowledge of Security or ACI if I don't skip the Enterprise material? Have a nice weekend. Attila
Hi! No that is not true. Security track cover minimum routing and switching. Its about various security solutions. DC track also covers minimal routing. Many overlaps between Enterprise (ENARSI) and Service Provider track though. HTH
Hi Mico! CCNP Wireless has been retired. If you wanna specialise in wireless you have to take ENWLSI or ENWLSD. Both concentration exams are under CCNP Enterprise.
thanks man!!! the ccnp course and exam im gonna take is fixed, so it would be scor for the core exam, and swsa for the concerntration exam..i cannot choose it as this course is scholarship support..before i watched your video i was doubting the core and concerntration they fixed for me, but after watching your video it made sense to me..i just still not satisfied with the concerntration, because i would choose vpn if possible..but, anyways, thanks man!!!
Hi. If I have a CCNA but didn't land a job yet, do you recommend that I study for the CCNP Security? Would they hire me for a security role without any experience? Thanks.
Hi! Adding more certifications increase your chance of getting hired but its not guaranteed. There are also other major factors such as resume, interviews skills, being likeable etc
@@StyxShow Hi. I see, thank you. Do you think that it makes a difference which concentration exam I take? Maybe as someone without any real-world experience, I'd have more chances landing a job if I did Enterprise first?
@@alittax the answer always depends on the company. CCNP Enterprise is too common. Its a good cert but imagine if you have 5 or 10 other applicant with the same cert but the requirement is more of F5 or Palo Alto or AWS. My best advice is target at least 7 valuable certs.
I think it's difficult to say. There isn't one single course that is the "best to pursue". It all depends on your 1. career goals, 2. your employer's requirements & 3. the market in which you are located and maybe most importantly, 4. what you find enjoyable personally
