Ordered and received the EPF Grub recently, and was immediately impressed. The action is amazing! Caught 3 white bass in about 15 min on a quick trip to a cold and fast moving river. Can’t wait to hit it again with warmer and calmer waters, and to hit some ponds with good panfish populations. Keep up the great collaboration with Eurotackle, EPF!
I am glad to hear that, Founding Father! That's what's up. Thank you for all the love and support.
Great choice of reel, I absolutely love my 2500 Vanford, 90% of a Stella for fraction of the price.👍
My Vanford reeled in my recent personal best 9lb 14oz LMB like butter.💪
Ah hell yeah son...cracking open a cerveza in the middle of a 13 day workweek and seeing an EPF video is just about all I can ask for.
Welcome back, Leo! Excited that the videos are back again, been missing your exquisite commentary and scientific naming!
That line slings those little baits a long ways! I have only used it one trip so far but it was great!
I've heard Leo talk for years about the lighter the line the further you can cast. I like to use 8lb fluorocarbon but it doesn't give me the best castability with 1/64th ounce jigs but is still light enough to slang senkos where you want them.
Yeah I just picked up some 2 lb mono for 1/32-1/80 oz jigs. Might get this line in the 4 lb. I’m kind of concerned because my reel can carry 200 yards of .11 mm line but the braid is .045 but only 150 yards. Maybe I need to make a decent amount of backing?
Just remember folks…tight lines and take it eazzzzzy‼️
EPF GRRrRRRRRruuuuBBB
Can't wait to try the new line out
Let me know how it goes for you, Nathan!
Good seeing you still slayin these fish brotha 👌🙌🙏
Nice job out on the Delaware River brother! Have to say that the Shad is a fish I've never caught before, would love to add to my list.
I have three members of the Alosa genus on my species list. Hickory Shad is the most frequent, followed by American Shad, and I just added the Blueback Herring last year. They are incredibly fun to catch, but can be difficult because of their flimsy mouths.
On my bfs reel I've been using 4lb test braid from Spiderwire, which is okay but kinda stiff. Can't wait to try the Eurotrackle braid!
You will definitely feel the difference, HalfBakedFishing! Let me know how it goes for you. The special coating procedure on this line is TOP-NOTCH
I once caught a 6-inch Smallmouth Bass, and it fought better than most of the 8 to 11-inch Largemouth Bass that I have caught!
I agree with you on that, William. It is my personal opinion that pound per pound, Smallies fight much better than Largemouth Bass!
Not for the faint of heart! Lol! I like that. I hope to start my ultra-light fishing soon. The spring bass bite is crazy right now in Texas!
Great ta see you again . Nice catches too . That is very good line too . You may want ta try Berkley " NanoFil ) line too compare . 6# test , 125 / 300 yd spools . Prices are near same . I've been using NanoFil line for 4 years and I love it . Thank you , Tom Daytona Beach , FL . 30 , April 2022 .
Leo you don’t have to catch any fish. Just talking about it makes our day!!!! 🤣🤣
This video was awesome. I have never caught a hickory shad but I have hooked into one and it caught me completely by surprise. I was fishing next to an Asian family in Shark River inlet and they caught so many I couldn’t even count. They fight good and I plan on getting some next time I see a school of hundreds like I did that time. Thanks for uploading again, I was missing my dose of EPF videos
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice Smallie Leo. They should be biting soon up here. Can’t wait!
Thank you, Joseph!
Hey. Try to add some backing line to fill your spool properly. It will improve a lot your casting ability. Soft and smooth braided line are pretty sensitive to the proper filling on the spool.
That was awesome! Thank you for the review now, my plan is to purchase more for birthday gifts and for myself. Lol 😁
You are welcome, Tish! And thank you for all your love and support as always!
Good to see you using better gear bro, I remember that days of the kastking life aha!
That vanford is a big upgrade jump!
Keep up the good work bro
For sure, Fishing with David. I love it! Will do.
I wish there was a good population of shad where I live. They look amazing to fight!
Another great video. Gonna order me some line, and the epf grub.
The return of the king!!!
Did anyone else see the two deer photobomb in the beginning of the out take. Lol. Did you catch it Leo?
6:58 I was going to ask if this spot was freshwater or saltwater until that Smallie showed up. Now I know it's freshwater. Nice catches.
Thank you, Snake Eyes! And yes -- that portion of the Delaware River is non-tidal and fully freshwater. The Shad are only there for the migration season. Later in the year, you can find the Hickory Shad _(Alosa mediocris)_ along the New Jersey shore (all throughout Summer and Fall). As for the American Shad _(Alosa sapidissima,)_ they swim up and down the East Coast.
@@extremephillyfishing I caught a total of 3 American Shad and hundreds of Hickory Shad up here in the saltwater tidal portion of the Connecticut River last season, from mid May to early June and then early October to early November. The third American Shad was the biggest toothless fish of my life, at 20" and somewhere between 3 and 4 pounds. It's still a couple weeks too early up here, but I can't wait for that run to start again in May.
Edit: forgot to mention that I caught a Blueback Herring there too, which is a protected species in Connecticut. That was species #29 for me. I have 30 in total.
Awesome video love the euro tackle braided line definitely will be picking up that and nice smallie and shad leo tight lines
Tight lines to you as well, Sterling! Glad that you enjoyed it.
Awesome video. I enjoy your content. Sadly I cannot find a hot pink min o spin to save my life. Keep up the great content.
They stopped production of the pink Min-O-Spin long time ago, Steven! I bought the last batch of it, directly from the manufacturer. Heh. I may have a few opened ones in the basement, and that's about it...
I can catch these shad in The Netherlands here too in the summer. We call them "fint"
nice to see you uploading again! :D
More to come, MaxVMC! It is good to be back.
Tell u what Leo been loving the EPF Swim can't wait to to a species assessment of my creek this year with them. Gonna be an epic video!
That's what's up, A and C Angling Adventures. I appreciate all the love and support! Good luck out there!
I can’t wait to get some EPF grubs I’ve been trying to find a 1in. grub and have yet to find one with good action, but your grubs look like they’ll be the end of my search!
That is the craziest asian accent I have ever heard lol.
Very funny!
Hah. That's because my family is from China; however, I was born and raised in Brazil, Captain Krunch. It is the Portuguese-English-Asian accent. 😁
@@extremephillyfishing Wow that is very cool man, you've been around! I thought maybe you were doing a funny voice, I do that sometimes lol. btw I found you from watching 1rod. Liked and subscribed.
I to am now starting the journey to turn my passion for fishing into a career.
Catch me here: ua-cam.com/video/dd1po2M1VaQ/v-deo.html
That’s one of my favorite spots! Nice to see you catch a good smallie there, can’t wait to try an EPF swim there!
I love that area too, Matt. When the River is low, I love wading downstream from there -- all the way to the end of the island. Some nice Smallie action, not to mention a Walleye here or there. The Delaware River is awesome.
Like the color! Know they're your sponsors and all but let us know if it fades over the season, some high vis don't seem to hold up for long.
For sure, RTanna! I will do so. One thing I can tell you is that when I spooled the fishing line, the color didn't get into my fingers even one tiny bit!!! I will keep you all updated on how much the color fades over time.
My man epf another great video as always
Glad you enjoy it!
Having caught a tarpon, NOTHING in PA compares it haha
"esmack the jerkbait"! lol!
Nice to see you back in action .
Thank you, The Awkward Observer! More to come, for sure... 😀
after seeing this Im gonna have to invest. As someone who enjoys surfperch fishing I cannot pass up on the EPF grub
Let me know how it goes for you, BP-Fishing. Would love to hear some reports from the West Coast!
EPF, get some shad darts and swing them through the current and you’ll have a better shot at an American Shad. They are not carnivores and basically strike out of frustration. The hickory shad are carnivores so they will strike lures like swim baits. Tight lines
I have caught a handful of American Shad on soft plastic grubs before. I have heard that they occasionally eat small baitfish. The Hickory Shad will sometimes blitz on bait like Bluefish. Wouldn't expect Americans to do that though.
For sure, Ryan! I have caught American Shad _(Alosa sapidissima)_ out of reaction strikes on small jigs, though. But as you say, you can't really beat the Shad Darts and the Foley Spoons. 😉
almost no one uses anything other shad darts up here in nova scotia for american shad, fly takes second place
Freaking primo catfish bait you were catching
We have thread fin shad in my area they don't bite ANYTHING
The Threadfin Shad _(Dorosoma petenense)_ are much trickier, SirKrooks. Lol. Not only they are filter feeders (meaning that they have a small mouth), but they are smaller in size as well. To catch them IN THE MOUTH, you would have to find feeding grounds first, and then tie on a REALLY TINY HOOK with a a very tiny piece of worm on the bottom. Lol. That's how I caught my Gizzard Shad _(Dorosoma cepedianum)_ in the mouth back in the days -- tipping small hooks with either small worms or small pieces of vegetation with zooplankton on it.
Epf!!
Awesome video dude !
Glad you enjoyed it
Great upload homie 👌 👍 👏 🙌
Thanks 💯
Another great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you use a fluoro or mono leader when using such fine-sized braid?
In this video, I didn't -- and that was because I wanted to see the castability of the line without a leader. However, I do recommend a FLUOROCARBON leader at the end -- in particular if you are fishing around rocky areas or pursuing finicky species of fish.
What part of the Delaware is this? I see the train bridge so is this Yardley PA?
Nice 👍🏼
Does the braided line sink or float I know some braid that I have tried floats on top of the water
That's a good question, Skeeter. I didn't really pay attention to it; thus, I don't know. LOL. I will get back to you all on that.
Skipjack best catfish bait there is
The Skipjack Shad _(Alosa chrysochloris)_ doesn't really run the Delaware River, Pnut Productions. The Hickory Shad _(Alosa mediocris)_ is like...a cousin of his. Heh. They are very very similar in appearance!
fatty smallie in da house - good fishing, good variety, good scientific knowledge kicking, good eslaying
I have never tried Braided line before, do you think the Eurotackle line would cast small lures like the EPF swim, Bvibe ect, better then 10lb mono line?
I also dont have any Ultra light rods, So i normally use them with my Medium rod setup with an 1/8thoz jig head
Hmmm. I see, Nera. Without a light or ultra-light setup and a 500-1000 reel, I wouldn't recommend the line at all. This particular braided line has a very specific application: to cast TINY lures very very far away. If you ever get a light or ultra-light setup, though, I totally recommend it!
@@extremephillyfishing Cool thank you! Might get an ultra light sometime this year
I think this is the best line I have ever used
Did you use a leader with the braid?
How far does it cast 1/64 ounce?
I didn't really measure the distance per se, TheAnglerAquarist; however, I can tell you that it casts it further than other Braided lines that I have used in the past.
@@extremephillyfishing sounds good. Thanks Leo!
I’m sure you have mentioned this before… but what happened to the intro…… whhhaattts up youuuuuutuuuuuubbbe
i never use braid it damages equipment but to each there own but i would only recommend mono for top water and floro for depth fishing great video nice small mouth
Any good spot I'm in Philadelphia just move here ohio
I love your vids EPF. But whats up with the weird accent? You never had one and now lately you do. Just speak normal man, thats where your hosting abilities show best.
How may times are you going to say EPF grub or talk about the new line on every video? I liked your videos much better before you joined Euro tackle. You fished for love of the sport not to promote your product every minute of the video! Now your just a promoter for eurontackle gear!!
It is a part of my job nowadays, Chris. I am sorry to hear that you don't enjoy that aspect of my social media; however, I am PROUD of being sponsored and I will continue "doing me." P.s. I still fish for the love of the sport -- if you really think that I don't, maybe you are better off somewhere else indeed. There are plenty of other channels out there for you to watch.
