In this video, I hit the "Fallen" Neshaminy Creek with the @FishHawk Dark Matter in-line Spinner. While I waded downstream, I decided to shoot a little "tutorial" on how to read the Creek and find fish around current. Remember, Ladies & Gentlemen: it is KEY that you position yourself well to get that nice cast in. Sometimes you only have ONE CHANCE at a fish.

Caught my BP largemouth yesterday in North Florida. It was about 5 pounds, in a flooded spillway in the middle of town. A guy at the stop light was freaking out and yelling about it being huge. He must have thought it was a ten pounder. 😂
Wonder what it’s like to be hiking in the woods and hear Leo screaming and yelling in the middle of a creek

It is so awesome seeing this!!! I used to fish there all the in the 90s to the early 2ks. We would have fun all day catching dinks with some nice ones mixed in. starting at the Old Lincoln Hiighway bridge down to the falls. I caught some of the biggest smallmouth under that bridge. And my PB smallie came out of a pool between three bridge and falls. Thanks for this!
You're The Sunfish King today. I'm always surprised how some sunfish can hit a big lure. I have similar spinners, but I'd love to get that one, too.
I love the fish hawk spinners. They actually inspired me to make my own. After making a bunch of styles I finally got one down with perfect balance which I was really proud of. Started making them in different colors and started tying the hooks to give extra flash. First day testing out the finish project I caught my PB bluegill 1/4 off from being 11"

This is one of my favorite local spots, caught one of my biggest bass right above the falls like 8 years ago and im still looking for her😂. That spot has been overfished like crazy unfortunately for us
I appreciate your safety warning about the flowing current they can be really tricky to see if it's too aggressive or not to enter.
I live on Long Island, NY. We have only three bodies of water with Smallmouth in them and the fishing is not that good. I usually go upstate if I want to catch Smallmouth. We have Largemouth in just about every lake and pond.
Trout fishing is not what it once was, have to pay a lot to get a decent one now. Stocked fish are 9-12 inches and Brook Trout are catch and release only accept in three streams that are session based (4 hours) and expensive ($30 per session on top of the state fishing license).

Is that still stocked with trout? I moved over to NJ and haven’t fished there in a long time. But I grew up fishing this area in the vid.
@vgcmxg there ha been a do not eat notice on the neshaminy due to contamination for the past few years so they don't unfortunately stock it. There are however some holdover trout but they are FEW and far between. I caught one up in chalfont two years ago somehow around easter time😂

Ive fished there for 40yrs.caughtmany big smallmouth bass right there.jigs and beetle spins with a kalins triple threat grub on the hook.we used to be able to eat the bass.there used to be a quarry across the creek that was full of largemouth bass and huge sunfish it got drained though.and ive jumped off the falls thousands of times.the bass are close to the falls, everybody uses in line spinners they catch sunfish with them.that rock usually has a bass or two. We used to catch carp there to with corn and cornmeal.stocked browns and rainbows occasionally end up in the falls they bit spinnebaits believe it or not.i didn't expect you to catch any bass of any size. You should have tried above the falls,lots of fish up there to.a silver spinner would have worked better there.
Back when I fished there I used to kill it under the falls and from the old train bridge up to the falls. Has it been hit bad by the bucket brigaders?

Hey Leo, Do you know where I can get a good affordable spinning reel? 20-40 lbs? I have a medium heavy Shakespeare sturdy stik.
Hmmm... if you are looking for a cheaper option that is still durable, I would recommend a Shimano Sedona 4500 for 20lbs to 40lbs test line.
If you want something GOOD that will last you a LONG TIME, then I recommend saving money and getting a PENN Slammer or Spinfisher. Those reels last forever, and you can use them both in fresh and salt water.

When I fished here I’d park where the strip club was on old Lincoln and walk down to the bridge and enter there.
