Yes, I really don't know why he pays that much. Checked online and found many decent apartments in the usd 200 range. Ok if someone cranks the aircon I can see the 400 dollars monthly bill. Well, don't move to a hot country if you can't stand the heat.
Roughly $740.00 all in is quite good for the location of Mactan he is in as there is so much to experience there. He could spend $750.00 on food and entertainment and still come in just under $1,500.00 per month. Try that is America. And it does not look as if this gentleman is suffering in any type of way to me. Most people simply do not know how to manage their finances. I previously lived in Cebu and know what is possible. Great memories of that place.
Great video! Thank you, Gio. It looks like Frank did a good job researching everything before making the move. Well done. I'd love to see a tour of his condo if it's available. I'll check out his YT and see if he's posted one.

Mactan Newtown is a very nice community but the condos themselves are very small and dull most have views only of another building and no usable balcony. So many new condos are built to the Asian standard very small sq meters, usually less than 50sqm. I was spoiled living in near by Movenpick for 4 years where my condo was 100sqm., overlooked the sea and had a nice white sand beach. I'm living in Boracay now in a very nice 1 bedroom condo, much nicer than the Newtown condos. I was thinking of moving back to Mactan and looked at condos at Movenpick - didn't find one like the one I had lived in. about 6 at Newtown - all small and poorly furnished, a one bedroom at Tambuli - way too small and the resort though beautiful was difficult to get to through the narrow and congested roads, a two bedroom at La Mirada - that didn't match the advertising (no white beach as advertised) and dull. The Reef was out of my budget at 80K but looks very nice, The Pearl is also out of my budget but very nice. Amisa has possibilities but it's further out on the island than I wanted to be. If your budget for rental is less than $1000 per month I guess you'll have to be satisfied with places like Mactan Newtown
@@gary_in_the_Philippines Movenpick does have condos for rent. There are three towers, one tower is all hotel, one tower is all condos and the third tower is mixed. It is however location, location, location as they say.
Yes, Mactan / Lapu is going to be less, however, do your market homework and demographics as I`m sure you will...
Hi Geo , My name is Jeff Caryl and you interviewed me good friend Frank from Chicago. I think he is here in Mactown Newtown where I live now. Could you please help me connect with him? Thank you in advance
I informed Frank
Jeffrey i am having NO luck messaging the complex management inquiring about rentals. all web infp points to purchases of condos, not rentals. also seen videos of purchasing advertisement. Please indicate what your rental amt might be per month. Thanks.
I get $3,737.00/mo Id love to live in fillipines indefinately, but internet says I can only visit for 30 days. How are Americans living there for months? Please tell me.
are you retiring and is that your Social SEcurity and 401K funds monthly?
I think you can renew the 30 visa for 3 years then you exit the country then come back for another 3 yrs and keep doing that or you can get retirement visa where you have to put some money down(10 or 20K). I am not in the Philippines but I heard this in UA-cam videos. Just double check
are you really serious 500 us dollars per month to rent a car this is competitive ??
He sounded a little defensive about his start up costs. I thought 5-8 Grand is about right and what I expected.
He said rent is $35. That doesn't make sense
He said 35k pesos. He also said USD800/month all inclusive for the condo.
There are decent apartments for half that amount.
Wow this guy spends a lot Gio I spend much less but you know if you can afford it go for it
My budget is $10,000 US monthly and I’m middle class.
You live in the Philippines? Why? That high of a budget you could easily afford Singapore much nicer
Ohh, really? Generator Brownout problems? No way, not in Cebu.
Yes recently have been dealing with brown outs, it can be frustrating..
@@FranksPH Not for me !!!
I will deal with anything, "brown outs", "typhoons", "monsoons" ect. just to be able to live in this "God-Given" paradise than to live in "shithole" "God forsaken" California anyday !!!
Iv`e been living in Cebu City for 1 1/2 years now and blessed that I found "Shangri-La"...
Does buying a condo lead to residency?
One of those 1 bd rm condos at that Mactan Newtown buildings are over $200,000+ USD! not pesos. yes all of that for a small condo if purchasing is in the picture.
It does seem like a nice place .
I get much more for much less but it’s not for everyone plus I’m in deep province
The thumbnail looks very expensive!

some words of wisdom from this Filipino , he never said where this happened though: Filipina Mother Warned Expat: Don't Hire a Taxi, they might kipnap you!
40k pesos a month? Omg thats way overpriced. Hell you can get a great condo in Florida cheaper. Why so overpriced?
Depends on what part of Florida
Gio you have always yold it like it is. I constantly tell people living here cost over 1000 per month, i get told thats not true. Honestly i dont see how you live on less than 800. 1000 p a day is almost 600 us. People are not in the real world
My total expenses are closer to $2000 usd. 1000 pesos per day is my spending money not bills.
You can live for less than $500 outside the city. The problem is finding a decent property.
Greetings from Burlington ontario Canada 🇨🇦 enjoy your content if you could do the same with a person who purchased a condo in dumagettie or cebu. 😊😊😊
Having car payments, or leasing, is dumb ion the PH. Get a scoot, and a well used timy car, or Bajag. Keepa low p[rofile always.
Your right! No leasing in the Philippines as I know of.
Wait what Typhoons are safe? hahahaahahahah
I was listening to this podcast style (just earphones at work, no video) and i thought you were interviewing donald trump. 🤣
fvckn frank - came to the PI for the hot B's - Shout Out OG Frank G
