  • DIY, EASY FIX !!! My toilet was not blocked up and wouldn't flush at all. (note: I tried drain o , vinegar and dish soap but that did not work). I also tried cleaning each jet hole out with a wire brush and that did not work either.Turns out the siphon jets were really clogged up. That's what was causing my toilet not to flush or usually causing a very slow flush. The easy way to fix it yourself with out calling a plumber and spending a lot of money is real simple. Just follow my instructions:.
All you need is: seran wrap, muriotic acid,a small baggie with a rubber band and a small funnel. The muriotic acid cleans out all the jets and makes the toilet like new again.
comment below and let me know if it worked for you! Thanks for watching.

This absolutely works!! After 2 years of water not going down, trying every method in the book, this worked. I went to Menards and paid $3.99 for a gallon of Muriatic acid. I did this method, left the bathroom for an hour, and came back to some really black water in the toilet and a gas smell. I was a little worried, but I took the plastic off and flush! It all went down!! I am so excited. Thanks for this video.

It's been over a month since I used this FIX. The rejuvenated toilet still flushes as good as new and stays much cleaner because years of calcium buildup were eliminated by the muriatic acid . This approach worked perfectly and saved me a lot of time and expense. This is my second "Thank you" Frank . great work

Dude: I was completely skeptical that this would work but I figured "what the heck" I had nothing to lose but a half gallon of my pool muriatic acid. I poured the acid down the fill tube and waited an hour. I skipped the saran wrap and plastic bag part and just turned on the vent and closed the door. Then came the moment of truth. Presto! That toilet was flushing like a champ. It was totally unbelievable. You saved me about $200 and a huge PITA. Now I can hardly wait to take a dump. You are the man!

Confirmed: WORKS! Mine was severely clogged and only took about a cup and a half of muriatic acid (all I had left over from a concrete painting job). Then I broke off the head of a toothbrush to clean out the jet after flushing 10 or so times first. works like new! Thanks Man!!

I just followed your procedure exactly the way you did it. I let the muriatic acid sit for 60 minutes. All of debris had settled into the bottom of the toilet. I flushed it and it worked perfectly. I'm going to do the other toilets in the house as well to keep them clean and working perfectly. Thanks again great job

This deserves a comment because I followed the directions given perfectly, and you have no idea how incredibly well this method works. My toilet was not flushing well at all, so first I did the water bucket test. You take a bucket of water and pour it into the toilet and see if it goes through. If it does, then your toilet drainage is fine and it means your jet holes are caked with hard water build up. I tried vinegar, stuff from home depot (multiple different products) and none worked. Eventually, I stumbled on this video and I went and bought the acid and did it. It works incredibly well. Take all the safety precautions before doing this, such as wearing proper gloves, a mask, and using safety goggles. Other than that, always have baking soda near by. A little bit of research will show that baking soda "neutralizes" the acid so if you spill some by accident, just throw the baking soda on it. It will fizz and then stop and you're good to go. After you pour the acid into the overflow pipe, and you let it sit for 1 to 2 hours, and you're scared that it might ruin your piping, just add baking soda into the toilet bowl before you flush. You can also mix the baking soda with water and slowly put it into the toilet bowl, and as mentioned before, it will fizz and stop. Then you can flush it a few times and you're good to go. In reality, the acid does get diluted by the water so it wouldn't hurt your pipes, but since everyone has baking soda at home, it's an easy precaution to take. Many thanks for this tip. It works superbly!

    • @LolLol-uz7ni
      @LolLol-uz7ni 5 років тому +1

Most likely, if you did the bucket test and it didn't go down, then you have another problem, not a hard water build up problem. Most likely a clog down somewhere.

    • @LolLol-uz7ni

I am not sure because I've never had an issue with a septic system. However, If it's a flushing issue, and not a clogged pipe, this should work fine.

I did this exactly as you showed us Frank, except I let the acid stay in there nearly two hours. I can not believe how well this worked. It has rejuvenated my toilet completely. Even the bottom of the bowl had lime on it and it was all gone when I flushed it. The toilet looks pristine (if one can say that about a toilet). I am flushing it over and over to dilute the acid and will put some Rid-X in the bowl tomorrow. Thanks a lot Frank. Amid some of the more questionable solutions on UA-cam yours was a great and relatively cheap fix.

I got creative for a 2nd story bathroom/vent pipe. Pipe snake encountered no resistance so I poured a half gallon of Walmart Great Value Drain Cleaner Maximum Strength dissolves tough clogs fast Professional Strength Gel from the roof down the vent pipe. Instructions say wait 30 minutes and then follow up with hot water to wash it through. I waited almost 2 hours and then went back up there with 2 buckets (3 gallons) of hot water and poured them down. Checked the toilet and there was still no flushing. I figured I'd have to call someone and had been beaten. 3 HOURS LATER, after telling the gf to not use that toilet, she was sitting on the couch and I was in the kitchen when I suddenly heard what sounded like someone flushing the toilet upstairs. It sounded like there was 20 feet of full pipe flushing down. Sure enough the toilet started flushing again. Just to check, I put about 15 gallons of water down that toilet and it went down with no problems at all. Monday I'll be doing the other smaller vent pipe for the toilet directly below this one. The drain cleaner was less than $6.00 a bottle.

Had a new toilet in car ready to install when I thought I should make one more attempt to find a solution. Knew I could manually flush by pouring water into bowl so it had to be a problem with guts of the toilet. Flapper all worked but it was obvious there's wasn't enough push/pull (siphoning) to clear the bowl. This fixed it. Basically a brand new toilet. Thanks so much! Use hot vinegar, let sit overnight if you have another toilet. The acid works but if your on a septic it's not good for the system or the toilet. Vinegar works well and if you use it once a month on a troublesome toilet the problem should stay under control. Might also consider a softener system if you have hard water that is where you build up comes from

Add us to the list ... IT WORKED! Mulled over the muriatic acid vs. the vinegar, but ultimately went with the acid (Menards for $3.99). We used about 1/3 of the gallon and let it sit for about 3 hours. The added bonus was that it also cleaned the ugly brown (hard water) stains at the bottom of the bowl that looked like who-know-what. But the tank is still only filling about halfway, so I think we need a new filler mechanism. Thank you so much for this video!

I was (very) skeptical but it works! It did solve my slow flushing toilet.
I was close to replace it after trying many other things.
I followed his instructions verbatim. Note: the muriatic fume is quite intense so be sure to bring fresh air in the room. Thanks!

If you are going to be using acid ALWAYS but always and I can't say it enough ALWAYS wear glasses, gloves and mask. One very small splash accidentally bounces off and lands in your eyes you are done for good. Just keeping it real.
    Loved the video,thanks.

First, make sure you try flushing on a few occasions with the bucket. If the water doesn't go down, it's a clogged pipe.
