I love at the end he just decides to let his Jazz Fusion flag fly and have a bit of fun and it still works so well.

Larnell grew up in the church playing gospel and is a jazz fusion drummer so totally believe that he has never heard it before. He actually was called last minute to do drums for the Snarky Puppy album and learned the entirety of the album on the flight.
I think the “intensity” you’re missing is because he’s Canadian. 😂
You should check out Jonathan Moffett, he was MJs drummer from 83-his death. Watching him play Thriller or Billie Jean, man that guy is more accurate than a metronome.

A better Drumeo video that this one is the one with a young girl named Nandi Bushell doing a cover of a
      Twisted Sister song:
We're not going to take it anymore.

Bruh this is one of the best drummers in the world. U want to see him at his best u go watch him play his music. But I understand from a, non drummer/musician, how u feel.

I believe you. When you have a speciality I get that. Plus that fusion Jaz piece for me, is just not my flavor at all. Chad would probably struggle doing a piece like that. 👍 thanks for the comment

I love larnell, however it's refreshing to hear an original opinion. We're all from different walks so we all perceive things differently. In other words thanks for the honesty.

One of the best drummers to have walked this earth. But I see what you're getting at. The rock drumming intensity makes a huge difference, so when it's missing, we kinda feel something is not quite addin' up. He was almost perfect technically and memorizing the parts, but the "angst" is not there, and as metal goes, it's practically mandatory as it communicates something intricate to the song's message. Meaning: Metal is not only about "what" you're saying, but "how" you say it and how much energy is required for the message to reach the "primal" level of connection we all search for on heavy songs.

These videos will never get old. Such a cool concept that Drumeo does. Have you see the video of Danny Carey of TooL playing the song Pneuma? If not it's a must watch!!

@@CaveManParadigm For sure check out Danny! He's one of the best drummers of our time. Pneuma really shows his talent

Yeah this was the video that birthed the rest. The problem is he was trying to duplicate lars' drums which are extremely simplistic. It wasn't until the dennis chambers video that they started doing the drumless track and let them come up with whatever. They need to bring larnell back in for that style because he would murder it. Hes in the top 1% of drummers in the world. They gave chad something in his wheelhouse this is larnell focusing on accuracy after 1 listen in a style he doesn't play and you can tell he is trying to get every part as close to the original as possible instead of just going off. Believe me though larnell would eat most drummers for lunch. Its insane what he can do

Love it... I want to see what a drummer can do if they took center stage on some of these videos. 😁👍

Right there with you re: the commercials. I think the algo senses the worst possible time to toss in an ad. It absolutely knows when your hands are full and you can't immediately skip the commercial.

Yeah, lack of intensity, i agree. But trust me - he is one of the best drummers in the world. He does get pretty emotional with his usual genre, it is crazy to watch what he does there - this is coming from not a guy who normally listens to jazz/fank.
