Just like most of the other OSTs, this one had parts that were way better than the original(1:36, 0:01) and some that were way worse(1:06-1:10). Overall, I'm glad that they decided to add the Giratina theme to the soundtrack. It's a bit of a shame though that the orb is found in the park. A way to get into the distortion world like in platinum(Turnback Cave) would have been a way cooler experience.
I like the original more, it has that chaotic and bombastic feel to it which a Giratina theme is supposed to have. But this new version is on par too, I liked it because of how cool those drums and guitars sound.
If you compare the og to the remake. The og sounds darker, heavier, and chaotic. The new version feels lighter, cute, an echo or a copy. I haven't played the new remake game yet so idk what difference from the og game to the remake is like but I like the og because it sounded there is much more to fall to darkness. The new one feels like hovering to some kind of light; the music even though has the chaotic aspect down, feels too bright. Hearing it again for the 4th time, it has width but no depth. For Garatina, I want to feel a endless hole that is really endless or a dark pit that looks dark and no matter how the brightest light can't illuminate that darkness.
I like this one more. This one captures the grand feel, or the feeling where you're fighting something godlike while still maintaining the chaotic music. The original felt chaotic but didn't have the grandness. Like if both of these themes were official, the original would fit more with darkrai or something while the new one would fit with giratina. @@dawsonslone3129 Giratina was banished because its power clashed with Dialga and Palkia and it couldn’t exist peacefully alongside them. The ‘violence’ that Arceus banished for wasn’t actually intentional, it was Giratina’s uncontrollable power, so Arceus sent it to the Distortion World where it could exist peacefully. When Cyrus captured Dialga and Palkia, their powers were already warping the world to a dangerous level, so Giratina couldn’t really do any further damage, that’s why it stepped in to stop Cyrus and save the world. Like the OG comment said, the reason Giratina was allowed to continue existing rather than destroyed was so it could step in if Dialga and Palkia ever went out of control.

Such a cool remix. Makes me wish the Platinum storyline elements were added to BDSP as postgame content, something like "Cyrus' Last Stand". Just imagine: After you become the champion, Looker visits your home and asks for your cooperation into taking down the remnants of Team Galactic, Charon included, and finally, you go to Distortion World and face Cyrus for the last time before going after Giratina. Eh, dreaming is free, I guess.
I love how the regular game is piss easy and the post game is actually challenging. Giratina is lvl 100 and the elite four have competitive Pokémon with perfect EVs and hold items which is hilarious
To this day, Giratina still is the only mascot legendary with its own unique battle theme, no leitmotifs from pre existing themes, just Giratina in its original awesomeness.
They should give this Giratina a competetive moveset, max ev's, max iv's and adamant nature. moveset: -shadow sneak -shadow force -dragon claw -earthquake
@Singularity Hilariously enough, it actually is. It’s an old DPPt competitive moveset with substitute replaced with shadow sneak for a priority move on a physical sweeper, which is actually really neat, since there are a ton of other competitive movesets for Giratina in circulation but they chose one of the older sweeper ones from the original games.
@Brian janssens Yeah when I caught my Giratina and saw that he had an adamant nature I instantly taught him earthquake and made him relearn shadow sneak. It really is the best moveset for Giratina. Physical giratina is much better than special.
I love the fact that they kept almost every original instrument. This really is a faithful remix, with a couple of new instruments added in for good measure, such as the electric guitar, which in my opinion makes this theme even better than the original.
This would be so much cooler if I could actually listen to it more than once in-game. From personal experience, the very first time I battled this thing it had the Giratina Battle Music, but I got swept by it because I went in underleveled, and then when I loaded my save and went for the rematch it just played the regular Legendary Battle music instead, and I was super disappointed.
The same just happened to me, I was playing with DS Sounds on and when I noticed the platinum Giratina theme playing, I reset to hear it without DS Sounds. Now I just get the normal legendary theme when battling Giratina. I wonder if it's a glitch or intended but it's a bit sad I can't experience it from my game anymore
I just realized this is like the first time this theme has been officially remade. Every part still gives me flash backs to 7 year old me playing pokemon platinum
I feel like people really wanted platnum remakes, not daimond and pearl remakes sense many of the things that people are disappointed about bdsp were in platnum.
I wish they’d included the flavor text “the distortion world’s giratina appeared!” Would have been a nice touch. That being said this fight and music are amazing
I love how this theme is a bit high pitch and distorted than the other theme, as now it's not giratina, it's SHADOW GIRATINA (ik remakes of music are meant to be like this, but this gives another feel)
When I got Giratina in Turnback Cave, I was pretty disappointed. No Distortion World, no Platinum content, not even his proper theme song? Then I saw the Platinum cartridge at Ramanas. And YEP. A level-100 uncatchable projection of Giratina in the Distortion World WITH HIS ACTUAL THEME? I will sure as hell take that.
Giratina's theme has always been one of my favourite battle themes, and honestly, as good as this one sounds, I prefer the old one. this one itches my brain in a good way though. edit: I change my mind this is better
It sounds a bit softer compared to the DS amazing chaotic yet synchronized synths. However that flatline heartbeat that I love is here and it sounds AMAZING. Don't get me wrong I equally love this remix a lot.
I think its kinda wack that these pokemon like Giratina, dialga, mewtwo, ect are all forgotten in the new game's stories and the only way to encounter is by raid encounters, instead of a side quest or something like that.

Indeed when I first heard this version I thought it was pretty good but then I heard the legends Arceus version it's so much better.
Friendly reminder that Giratina is not, AND I REPEAT NOT EVIL AND IS THE UNIVERSE'S FAIL-SAFE
Wym?
I remember him being the only thing protecting the distortion world from Mr evil guy in the anime
Also Pokedex entire for Legend Arceus also Supports this With the Girantina Origin Form pokedex state that the distrion world is the bridge between heaven and the Pokemon world stated form Arcues main game
Bruh
Necrozma: *hold up two unique themes* am I a joke to you
But no I do love Giratina theme to pieces
Zacian and Zamazenta, Eternatus, and Calyrex have their own themes
Eternatus has four variations of his theme lol, one is unused in game
What about heartgold ho-oh?
Heartgold Ho-oh and Lugia have their own themes
3:13 that moment... Pokemon arceus... Second form 😏😏
The legend is back ! ! !
Such an underrated music, I personally think this and old one both gives ultra-mega-cool vibes.
They should give this Giratina a competetive moveset, max ev's, max iv's and adamant nature.
moveset:
-shadow sneak
-shadow force
-dragon claw
-earthquake
You sadly can't catch it though
Will-o-wisp
Hex
Dragon tail
Rest
With a chesto Berry idk
@Singularity Hilariously enough, it actually is. It’s an old DPPt competitive moveset with substitute replaced with shadow sneak for a priority move on a physical sweeper, which is actually really neat, since there are a ton of other competitive movesets for Giratina in circulation but they chose one of the older sweeper ones from the original games.
@Singularity what the fuck are those
@Brian janssens Yeah when I caught my Giratina and saw that he had an adamant nature I instantly taught him earthquake and made him relearn shadow sneak.
It really is the best moveset for Giratina. Physical giratina is much better than special.
1:21 you can't deny but this is the SICKEST part
Giratina facing his inner demons.
Wait…
Persona 4 intensifies
This is basically Ilca saying "Yeah we know we could have had more Platinum content."
Can’t wait to get the Ace Trainer OST or the Clothing Shop OST I think those 2 are SOOO good
I love the fact that they kept almost every original instrument. This really is a faithful remix, with a couple of new instruments added in for good measure, such as the electric guitar, which in my opinion makes this theme even better than the original.
A youtuber here in Spain claimed that this theme sounded like a superpredator. Fitting description.
Is that true?
@@Mac14329 level 100 giratina fight, what more do you want
@@michaeldavid1566 I was asking fireassassin a question, and that's not the answer I wanted.
That said, the Gold and Silver remakes did a good enough job integrating elements from Crystal.
Now this! THIS!!! Deserves a "slaps really hard" video on it's own right!
This was just preparing us
I wish they’d included the flavor text “the distortion world’s giratina appeared!” Would have been a nice touch. That being said this fight and music are amazing
heck, have the text that usually says 'strange space' just say "the distortion world". that would be epic
I would love if it said the distortion world's master appeared
This is where PLA Giratina’s anger went to after being defeated, thus pacifying him for the PLA protagonist to capture
Kinda fitting that you can face shadow giratina with your own giratina, since it is weak to its own types
Yeah...Legends did better with the music. And the buildup. And Giratina itself.
Tbh Its Giritina. All the iterations of hisctheme are going to sound amazing some more then others, but still good
I prefer this way more over the weird melty crackly bubbly whatever the hell that is in the Arceus theme
@@adamtheriault6743Npc ass take
To be fair BDSP are straight remasters of Diamond and Pearl, where Giratina had about the same role as any third legendary.
@legendofrayquazagaming5125 I do agree. GIratina is cool and all but he is kind of just... there. Just to be the cool dude.
If you listen very carefully, just a little bit after 0:01 you can hear the Chris Brown waking up scream
Okay, who gave the f*cking flying snake an electric guitar?
1:36, the feeling of pure dread
Flashing back to Alpha Sapphire where I caught him and the shakes of the pokeball were perfectly timed to 1:00
I love how this theme is a bit high pitch and distorted than the other theme, as now it's not giratina, it's SHADOW GIRATINA (ik remakes of music are meant to be like this, but this gives another feel)
1:13 don’t take drugs and play the flute at the same time
When i first heard the electric guitar part I literally thought it was the coolest thing ever
I won this because my Abomasnow froze it. The SAME ONE THAT TOOK OUT CYNTHIA'S GARCHOMP. It will always be one of my favorite Pokémon.
There is no escaping the inverse of all that is created!! Face me, AND BE CAST INTO NOTHING!!!!
I love how Shadow Force has the best attack animation in Legends Arceus while BDSP, he turns into a dragon-shaped train.
This is one of the Pokémon remixes that stayed the most faithful to the original
Now we need a mashup of gen 4 and gen 4 remake theme of this
When I got Giratina in Turnback Cave, I was pretty disappointed.
1:05 heading into beat overdrive 🤣
Giratina's theme has always been one of my favourite battle themes, and honestly, as good as this one sounds, I prefer the old one. this one itches my brain in a good way though.
edit: I change my mind this is better
It sounds a bit softer compared to the DS amazing chaotic yet synchronized synths. However that flatline heartbeat that I love is here and it sounds AMAZING.
Don't get me wrong I equally love this remix a lot.
"I like fighting Giratina with Giratina" -Pokeli 2021
OK this cool theme aside, did you just name your Torterra Hashirama?
*A man of culture I see*
This song is epic and truly sounds amazing
I think its kinda wack that these pokemon like Giratina, dialga, mewtwo, ect are all forgotten in the new game's stories and the only way to encounter is by raid encounters, instead of a side quest or something like that.
Damn, this soundtrack is freaking awesome 🙌🏼
Nobody:
Trainer: *forces Giratina to attack its brother.*
I set the 0:20 as my ringtone I can't enjoy this anymore cuz it gives me the feeling of work. But this is a super good song!
0:20 best part of music
0:22 WHY DOES THIS REMIND ME OF CHRISTMAS
Playing this while battling giratina in the original platinum and having it annihilate your team is… an experience
I love how they had this fight KNOWING what they were doing in the next game planned. This story with Giratina was cool, but no one knew what was about to come and my god
"Giratina appeared!"
"Go, Giratina!"
Why do I listen to this so muchhh?
This is the best sinnoh remaster by far
