So when you stand on the opposite side of the board do you flip your feet around so your foot is tight against the board or do you just stand as you would on the other side?
I just started playing cornhole a few weeks ago and was extremely inconsistent with my throwing. I knew I was doing something fundamentally wrong, but I couldn't get it fixed. I watched your video and implemented your advice and it completely changed my game overnight. Thanks for making this video!
Got that right! My wife makes me rub her feet if I lose, then she makes me get my Dremmel power tool out and sand her hard corn toes! My bet for her is….she has to give me a BJ, and I haven’t had a BJ in over a year!
Gees u got a hole in one 4x's !! I just played one 21 game for my first time. I got a hole in one by luck. I didn't know how to throw them, now I got a pretty good idea. I'm addicted now, Thanks
Your video was very helpful, I don't know what happened to my throw, When I first started corn hole I was pretty good, then after I taught my wife my game turned to crap!! and now she constantly beats me!! I'm going to keep trying cause I love the game. Question for you, If you throw with your right hand do you always have your right foot in front and keep it stationary?
I thought you throw right handed with your left foot out. I think for balance. My first game I fugded it. No clue what my stance was. The bag tumbled, did a screw ball sideways float. I did get one he in one. Thanks for the tips.
So I’ve been going the opposite foot lead. Righty, but with my left foot forward. I found that when I have my right foot lead, I’m a little bit more off-balance when I release it. I also really like to have my front foot angled a bit more o the opposite boards opposite corner, if that doesn’t makes sense, I mean that I position the lead foot slightly angled in. I just gotta keep practicing.
I know a lot of people that are amazing throwers that throw like you. Personal preference on what foot should be about how confident and comfortable you can get in your stance. The release of the throw is the most important aspect of the throw.
So I’m in high school and I’m in ag and we play cornhole in there and I play a lot and I’m pretty good. Like multiple people asking me to be on my team. I just want to keep getting better so no one can beat me.
Howdy! I'm a cornhole noob (two weeks old, essentially). I've scoured the web looking for answers about where to aim. As a golfer, we talk about targets constantly. We're not aiming for the pin, we're aiming for where the ball lands and then rolls towards the pin. I'm assuming that's what you meant at 1:18. So, where exactly on the board should one aim for a slide shot? About how far down from the hole?
For a basic slide shot you should aim about 1/2 way up the board in line with the hole. One factor that will affect this is the speed of your bags. Most professional cornhole bags will have a fast side and a slow side with 2 different materials. Halfway between the hole and the front edge of the board is a safe bet and then adjust from there based upon your bags performance capabilities.
It wants to come out of my hand at 45 degrees or so and I can get em pretty close. The more I try to get a flat bag the less control I have as to what zip code it comes down in.
Try and get is as flat as possible. But if it is still slightly tilted, its ok, just be super consistent when throwing so the bags react the same way every time they hit the board.
I keep getting the yips every time my match is close late. I'll do something like moving my hip or doing this weird arm push bs. Got anything for that?
I would say that has more to do with the mental aspect. If you get out of your normal throwing rhythm, I recommend breaking your stance, back up and reset your position and start fresh.
Someone gave me advice which was probably wrong they said after my backswing, just when I'm about to release the bag, to flick my wrist a little it'll help it go where I'm aiming. Any legitimacy to that or should I disregard that advice? Thanks in advance!
Always working on the two fundamentals sight picture and a flat flight and rotation mix. Haven't mastered it all yet, but love this game. Thanks for the tips.
@@lowellholland3346 I feel it will be easier to learn when you have less moving parts. I really prefer to keep my feet set and try and really only move my arm and upper body a bit.
@@smalltownscarecrow ULTRA Cornhole made those for me. I think they still do custom boards and should have that logo on file. It’s the Spitfire “Flaghead” logo

I still keep my right foot forward for each side.

Looks good, I'll give it a try. I have to try something my wife is wining all the games.

Your Cornhole game is legendary. How far apart are your boards?
Thanks! Boards are 27ft from front edge to front edge.

Glad that helped!

I would use your fingers… specifically your index and middle finger to make the flip/flick with. It will get the spin flatter and more consistent.
@@WashedUpWarrior Oh cool, so flicking is legitimate form. I appreciate the reply!
Looking to get a board any recommendations
Stains n Grains or Dirty Bags makes great sets out here In San Diego
What if you’re on the opposite side how do you like your foot
When throwing outside arm I keep the same foot forward. I just offset my lead foot about 6in from the board.
are those spitfire boards custom?
👍

what brand of the bags you used
I mainly throw Ultra Cornhole Bags

Alright, champ. Now throw outside arm and toss a 4-bagger. You'll need to tweak that wrist more.
Which way should I tweak my wrist?
