- One of the earthy heartfelt performances off Bobby Vee's final record THE ADOBE SESSIONS released February 3rd, 2014.
Recorded with his three sons in the garage of his adobe winter home in Tucson, Arizona - Vee reinvents Bob Dylan's New Morning classic THE MAN IN ME into a mystic garage groove. The sessions were a way for the family to get busy making music while diverting attention from the stunning Alzheimers diagnosis Vee received not long before this recording. CD preview here.

It's also a tribute by Vee to Dylan - the first piano player in Vee's first band THE SHADOWS back in 1959. In the summer of 2013, Dylan paid tribute to Vee onstage covering Vee's first hit SUZIE BABY - a tune the two men played together in that summer of '59.

Vee used to play THE MAN IN ME as part of his live shows in the early 70's while in the midst of his singer songwriter reinvention that never really took flight, despite his critically acclaimed country-folk-rock album of originals NOTHIN' LIKE A SUNNY DAY. Definitely worth searching out - the OTHER side of Bobby Vee - then going by his real name Robert Thomas Velline. - Комедії
I was 12 years old when I got my first Bobby Vee album. I played that album for years. Bobby Vee meets the Crickets will always be one of my favorites. I just discovered the Adobe Sessions and love Bobby's voice and watching this video with his sons. Bobby was such a part of my youth. Tears fill my eyes as I am writing this. Thank you so much Bobby for giving me so much happiness in my young life.
WOW - just amazing how music seems to live on even when there are difficult times. Music is one of the best medicines there is for us all.
Great version 👌
Them guitars does som gently weeping for sure. Rest In Peace Bobby
RIP your music legend will live on. You have great family to back your talent up.
Absolutely love this version of this great song
It felt to me that Bobby Vee would be "forever young".
Bobby Vee was one of Bob Dylan's favourite singers
No he wasn't...is that a joke not many people would get?
+Lucky Jackson -- Actually, Jesse Hale is correct. Dylan has said Bobby Vee was one of his favorite singers many times over the years. Fun fact: Dylan performed his first professional gigs playing piano in Mr. Vee's band.

Wow! This really brings out the beauty of the song. Fantastic arrangement, and amazing vocal. I can't believe I never heard this. . . . . So glad I ran into it, while looking for The Night Has a Thousand Eyes. CD seems to be out of print, sadly.
You can burn a CD with Bobby's music if it is no longer available. Just go to MP3 to find it.

i think they used the perfect adjective to define this rendition.
i wouldn't have used all those papers, notes and stands but....well, I guess it's just me.
Bobby had been diagnosed with Alzheimers so he needed the lyrics. Still played a great guitar.

I didn't know.
I'm sorry for my remarl, then!
Thanks for pointing it out.
@@GiuseppeGazerro No problem. I believe he was diagnosed in 2011, so the disease has progressed 3 years. Considering that, I think he did a great job on this song!
