dude I gratefully.. comfotably numb.... and my head phones just amplify that... plus I blow out at all the talent... and all the bands... and all the songs on here... excellente..
You know, before I read that Peter wrote this as his thoughts on leaving Genesis, I thought the words were of a child learning s/he was being adopted! I still think it fits that scenerio nicely. Lovely song, and I wish I could have been on the front row of this concert!
This song brought me through some of the darkest nights in my life. I know he wrote it about his leaving Genesis and embarking on his solo career, but for me it was an affirmation of doing the right thing and choosing a better direction in my life. Away from addiction, away from a lifestyle that would have eventually either killed me or seen me with a life sentence. I love this brilliant songwriter and his creations.
If my life had a song, it would be this one. I have probably heard it more times then i have any other, My parents are big fans of Gabriel, and this song was their favorite. It has stuck with me ever since, and i always get a powerfull feeling of security and oddly enough "saudade" for my childhood as well. I doubt any song will ever have as much meaning for me as this one.
I started to cry when i saw this the first time... Since then i have seen it at least 4 times every single day and still love this brilliant version! It makes my days to what they are!
The days of analog video where the audio is always in perfect sync are over. Even if it came from an analog source, once it's converted (like for UA-cam), the sync is compromised. If it's online, it's rarely perfect; get used to it people.
@giguchan In fact, that is one of the best bicycles in the world, it's a Moulton, an english bike that is the equivalent of rolex, rolls royce, cartier, etc of the bicycles.
@pandurate I am an Audio Engineer for 20 years plus and I can say he DID NOT lip sync this song. The one thing Peter never did was sing above his abilities. He never stretched his vocals. Thus he can ALLWAYS perform his songs to an almost perfect pitch and tone. If Taylor Swift and others didnt rely on the studio and auto tune....... they would sound like they do live..... crapy. Ok my rant is over. This is a FANTASTIC version of SH.
The bike is by Moulton bicycles. British musician, classic British bike design. You're welcome. British musician, classic British bike design. You're welcome.
@gogglesux Indeed you have really good bicycles in Italy I would love to have a steel Colnago. I'm mexican and the oldest bicycle brand we have was founded by the Italian Giacinto Benotto, over 80 years ago, they were really fine bicycles at the past, but now are really cheaply made with two models exceptions. But the Moulton is really set apart as it is a really a clever bicycle desing (the first full suspension bike of the history)
exactly yeh, i have to say though i prefer phil collins lead genesis, they had more good singles and if collins hadent have taken over from gabriel i dont think genesis whould have been popular, gabriel lead genesis was a little too weird.
lol.. you're so funny.... I am at a loss to what you are talking about... lol... talk about brain farts... or that was some good bud... lol... joking of course.. lol...sshhh

You're thinking of the Salisbury Plain...
the only thing thats missing is the "you can keep my things, they've come to take me home. which is odd actually.

I for one am glad he left Genesis. I don't think he would have been able to be this creative. But that's just my opinion.
