Austin Healey 3000: Bootl lid repair

Réparation de rouille dans le bas d'un capot d'Austin Healey 3000 (BJ8).
Vous voyez ces petits points de rouilles qui ressortent à travers la peinture?, et ce mastic fissuré? Ne croyez pas ceux qui vous disent que c'est 2x rien!
La rouille qui ressort est TOUJOURS bien plus grave à l'intérieur et il n'y a qu'une seule façon durable de traiter cela: découper ce qu'il faut jusqu'à atteindre une tôle 100% saine, reformer un nouveau morceau, ressouder bord à bord.
Ici bien sûr le travail n'est pas terminé: on terminera la soudure complète (TIG ou chalumeau), ensuite on protège avec une couche d'époxy, puis on ressoude le renfort intérieur.

Lovely work. Fixed the proper way. The previous repair was horrendous, filler over rust, stuff like that is why I’d never buy a restored car unless it had full photo documentation on the restoration, could be anything under the shiny new paint 😂

J'adore te regarder bosser, on apprend plein de petits geste, des petites technique. Si en plus il y avait un peu d'explication( en Français), ce serai top. Mais je sais que ça prend du temps👍

je me lancerai peut être un jour à parler sur mes vidéos... mais le montage prendrait beaucoup plus de temps, donc je ferai ca quand tous les gars de mon équipe seront meilleurs que moi et qu'ils me diront que je peux passer mon temps à faire mes vidéos ;-)

hi, thanks for uploading the excellent video. can i ask why you used MIG to tack the panel in place rather than TIG or gas welding? as a beginner i'm interested in knowing both how to do this work and why you use one method or process over another. thank you.

I cannot summarize this answer. In this case I tack weld with the MIG as it's easier and faster. then I'll grind the weld and then I make the beadweld with gasweld with no filler rod, or TIG is the gap is a bit wider.
In this case, I never MIG all the long
