Worst place you can have tourniquet on. Mostly during a wound, weapon is droped away due to explosion or felling down.

@@preparedcitizens that is not helping much. You have TQ that is exposed to all elements, mud and dirt, and UV deterioration. And think about all the places where the TQ cannot be applied but still be wounded and wanted to stop bleeding. You would probably be better by just duck-taping one or two z-folded gauze...

Well I hate to tell you this but a huge number of elite and combat arms soldiers keep a tourniquet on their stock.

@@Valorius May be that. I only saw second hand footage and only soldier I saw using TQ on a stock were russians with their orange rubber one, to soften the metal AK-74 stock on the face. Which didn't work very much as a TQ to begin with. Usually I see on any soldier, grunt or elite specials, to mount via molle pouch, on dangler or on plate carrier shoulders. But soldiers also have entire infrastructure backing them and quick medavac if possible. As just a prepared citizen, I would opted - and I will, since you gave me the idea - to just slap combat gauze or two there. If it is the only(!) medical kit I have with rifle I grab.. i can apply it on much more places than just extremities as TQ can handle.
